Mine is my North Face, all singing, all dancing rain coat.

OP posts:

My very first job in the mid 90s I bought a Hidesign satchel from Liberty for around £120 which was an absolute fortune to me. I loved that bag and can't bear to part with it even though it is unbelievably heavy and the lining is ripped

Sooverthemill · 24/11/2021 20:23

A leather jacket that I bought just before first lockdown and I've only worn once. There's not much in my wardrobe over £200. When I worked I guess a suit from Reiss would have been over that but that's over 10: years ago

Sooverthemill · 24/11/2021 20:26

@NeverDropYourMoonCup

Can I play? My On Cloud flyers.

Not quite in the same bracket as anybody else, is it?

What does this mean? Most people haven't stated excessively expensive items and I do t even know what you are talking about!
RestingStitchFace · 24/11/2021 20:27

I spent about £150 on a three-quarter length plum coloured Boden velvet coat about 12 years ago. It's faded a bit over the years but every stitch on the fabric is still perfect. It's been worn to death so is an absolute bargain at this point.

nanbread · 24/11/2021 20:41

A silk jersey cocktail dress I bought in NYC. Think it was about £200. Wore it a lot, to weddings and evening events, and definitely got my money's worth. Haven't worn it in about 6 years though.

I have another day dress that cost similar but only worn it once so far!

HaroldSteptoesHorse · 24/11/2021 21:00

Trainers £45 I’m wearing them to death to get my moneys worth

justswaying · 24/11/2021 21:09

I remember wheels and doll baby! "Clothes to snare a millionaire" omg Grin

Apart from my wedding dress (and handbags) my most expensive items would be my coats. The most expensive being a beautiful Dior trench, a Céline shearling and a double faced Céline cashmere. I've had them all for years and wear them soooo much so I really think they're worth it haha!

Snoozeee · 24/11/2021 21:11

My Burberry Leather Jacket

mowglika · 24/11/2021 21:12

Apart from wedding dress and bags it would be my Rick Owens biker jacket £1500

Rosiiiiie · 24/11/2021 21:13

LV bag
Canada goose jacket
Gucci trainers

I wear them everyday though so that’s how I justify the $$

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/11/2021 21:14

My Gucci leather blazer - retailed at 2,000 Euros (but I got it for a steal at 200 Euros) almost 30 years ago. Still looks wonderful, bang on trend again.

EllaPaella · 24/11/2021 21:23

My Allsaints Cargo biker

roses2 · 24/11/2021 21:29

I have a number of £200-£500 pieces all courtesy of my local charity shop and none costing me more than £5! Furla handbag worth £500, Vaenssa Bruno chinos worth £260, Michael Kors wool coat worth £350 and a Tibi dress worth £350.

jay55 · 24/11/2021 21:50

Leather jacket too.
I've my eye on a ridiculous expensive pair of trainers though and keep stopping myself as I could buy a lot of other things instead...

onlychildhamster · 24/11/2021 21:56

My Senreve backpack which was in the £500 price bracket (on discount)- it is more expensive than my wedding dress (£450)..

My barbour parka was £200 from John Lewis but is a gift from my parents. My Mango coat is £80 and is probably the next most expensive thing I own, followed by my £79 Moshulu boots and my £79 Jenny Packham dress

DukeofEarlGrey · 24/11/2021 22:04

A Mulberry handbag that has had lots of use over several years and is still going strong.

But also a pair of Ralph Lauren boots that have yet to be worn Blush

SusannaQueen · 24/11/2021 22:08

Ha, came to say my North Face Arctic Parka and the very first post was a North Face coat 😆
Nothing else has come close!

Cecillie · 24/11/2021 22:14

@RestingStitchFace
I think I have the same coat and it's probably one of my most expensive purchases too, and still worn.
Otherwise yes to dubarry boots
Am coverting a £600 made to measure jacket for riding , but that probably doesn't count as it's essential sports wear right 😎

BillyAndTheSillies · 24/11/2021 22:18

Not counting handbags or shoes, it'd be a toss up between a club Monaco wool blazer and my Burberry trench - the trench is a hand me down from DH's DGM so very old but still timeless.

Justonedayatatime11 · 24/11/2021 22:19

Mulberry Oxblood willow tote with python clutch. £1100. Coveted it for so long, finally got it and too scared to use it. Contemplating rehoming it!

TuftyMarmoset · 24/11/2021 22:20

Probably either Jack Wolfskin coat or Vivobarefoot shoes

Wacadu · 24/11/2021 22:20

My Hollister winter coat. It'll last me for years.

Oneforthemoneytwo · 24/11/2021 22:25

Excluding handbags. I also have a mackage puffa which is worth every single penny. It’s not only the warmest thing I have ever worn but the cut and the styling is absolutely amazing. Have also bought a moose knuckle coat too.

liveforsummer · 24/11/2021 22:40

Probably my le chameau neoprene wellies. Practically live in them autumn to spring, and plenty in summer too though. So comfy and warm. Not at all flappy like a normal welly but you can just hose down when dirty unlike a leather boot such as Dubarry mentioned a few times on here

ImInStealthMode · 24/11/2021 22:49

Eek forgot handbags Confused Kate Spade & Coach handbags for work. Not cheap but oh how I love them both.
