Mine is my North Face, all singing, all dancing rain coat.

OP posts:

A mint velvet leather jacket, bought by my husband as a surprise! What a good husband!

DirtyDancing · 24/11/2021 23:16

Either my Burberry trench coat or my Chanel handbag. The latter was second hand which is why they are closer in price.

PersonaNonGarter · 24/11/2021 23:16

A dress from Alexander MacQueen designed by the man himself.

I tried it on last week and it is still fab.

londonmummy1966 · 24/11/2021 23:36

Other than my wedding dress, ballgowns and evening dresses from Annabelinda, Droopy & Browns and Vivienne Westwood - all eyewatering and some four figures. However, my most often worn evening dress was a bargain - cost £100 (reduced from £800) - in December 1999 and was a Jil Sander from Browns. It been worn at least 100 times since that NYE so cost per wear is excellent value and it is still going strong.

Like @Oneforthemoneytwo and @allfurcoatnoknickers (excellent name!), some of my most expensive purchases are Mackage coats. I have a dark blue cashmere coat, which is so beautiful, and two different puffa coats, which are so warm and somehow don't make me look like a giant marshmallow.
I also have a Moncler puffa that was similarly expensive, which I also love. And a Max Mara belted camel coat.

They are probably the most expensive pieces (if we don't count bags - I think my Chanel boy bag is probably the most expensive one, or wedding dresses...) but, as I wear a coat every single day for many months here and therefore it is the most-seen piece of my outfit, I tell myself it is worth the money. (Although I would NEVER tell my thrifty mother how much they were...).

allfurcoatnoknickers · 25/11/2021 00:05

@londonmummy1966 Ahhhh! Annabelinda! I was at school with Belinda's daughter. Lovely family. My mum had one of her dresses and wore it to my christening. It was beautiful, I wonder if she still has it...

Mymymycorona · 25/11/2021 00:17

@NeverDropYourMoonCup I hear you! My new balances probably cost the same Grin
Aside from my very expensive running shoes, wedding dress and a Ted Baker coat probably my biggest spends.

mamakoukla · 25/11/2021 00:22

A handbag, followed by a pair of sandals and a leather jacket

mamakoukla · 25/11/2021 00:23

Hmmm maybe I can wear them all together. Why haven’t I done that before?

whatisthisinhere · 25/11/2021 00:25

Shearling coat that I've had for 6 years, a present to myself to celebrate my divorce. Worth every penny

AnnieSnap · 25/11/2021 00:31

My Baukjen Leather Jacket

JennyForeigner · 25/11/2021 02:11

Double wow!

I have a completely mad early Naeem Khan beaded dress I bought from a Houston oil baroness eBay for £30 as an alternative wedding dress (wish I'd worn it instead of my lovely but overpriced fancy one). It's all shoulder pads and incredible bling.

Now I know what to do with it!

Greytminds · 25/11/2021 02:22

Hush biker jacket probably my most expensive purchase. £300 has been my notional upper limit on a single item, not sure why really.

I bought an Allsaints monument coat a decade ago. It was £250 at the time and a huge deal as I could not really afford it. I’ve worn it to death and had it re-lined. Always complimented on it and £per wear has been phenomenal.

Ironicpentameter · 25/11/2021 05:42

DH bought me a black Nicole Farhi blazer when I started teaching in 1992, It cost £400 then. I’m still wearing it.

MrsKDB · 25/11/2021 06:01

Chanel boy bag too, closely followed by LV tote and a balenciaga. Love bags and I save hard.

PersephoneJames · 25/11/2021 06:20

Apart from my wedding dress which was £1 in a designer discount shop, my leather leggings and my “prom” dress which were £200. The leather leggings totally worth it in terms of cost per wear! I’d had a couple of pleather styles over the years so I knew I’d like them.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 25/11/2021 06:42

Black biker ugg boots, £240 but I wear them 6 months of the year :)

madamceladon · 25/11/2021 06:51

Charcoal Harris tweed herringbone coat, £450, birthday present for 40th.

Bought myself, Agnes b black leather boots, really smart and wear a lot, £200.

I want a shearling or leather coat but waiting to see one second hand.

Franticbutterfly · 25/11/2021 07:05

Excluding my Coach handbag and my See by Chloe bag, it's my 2 pairs of Grenson boots (£325 each).

sqirrelfriends · 25/11/2021 07:13

Mulberry Bayswater was about £1,200
North face coat- I think it was about £350

For actual clothes I quite like a bargain so not much on a single item. I think the most I've spent was about £200 on a pair of boots.

FredAstairesChair · 25/11/2021 07:19

My Burberry coat. Its SO warm and I feel fantastic in it.

Or shoes, same brand. I seldom wear them as they're heels and I'm just not used to them but I adore them. They were £609. Coat was a lot more. . Most of my clothes are second hand/charity shop Grin

FloconDeNeige · 25/11/2021 07:32

Not including bags, it’s a shearling cost I bought 2 years ago for £2,100.

mrsrat · 25/11/2021 07:35

Matches maxfield parish cost ...... over £5k is all I'll say worn once

Lamaitresse · 26/11/2021 17:42

@Bideshi wow, that’s amazing!!

Mine would be my Parajumpers winter jacket and probably my LV bags…

HelplesslyHoping · 26/11/2021 18:17

The bike leathers I got when I didn't know I was 3 months pregnant. Now they don't fit. £2000

My LV neverfull- £1600 but will probably outlast me

And my gucci boots arriving next week... £875
