Mine is my North Face, all singing, all dancing rain coat.

Patagonia goretex type jacket
Mountain equipment down jacket
Amanda Wakeley evening dress I wore as a wedding dress

goose1964 · 24/11/2021 18:46

I have a barbour mac, can't remember how much it was though.

Peppercorn9 · 24/11/2021 18:49

My most expensive item (Dubarry boots, about £300) are also among my cheapest per wear - I live in them for about 8 months of the year! Aside from that, I’ve rarely ever paid more than £100 for a single item (with the exception of winter coats) as I try and buy second hand where possible.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 24/11/2021 18:56

My winter coats. I've got a Mackage puffer coat and a SAM parka with a shearling collar. I think they were about $600 each on sale but they were worth it. I live somewhere where it gets really cold so they're needed.

I stalked the Mackage for years before I snapped it up and it was still painful seeing the credit card charge.

I only spent $50 on it on the RealReal but I have a Kenzo wool coat with shearling coat that would have been over $1000 new. It still had the tag on and everything Grin.

80 quid boots (most of my things are from charity shops so that's v exp for me) still going strong 10 years later.

AnotherEmma · 24/11/2021 19:08

I assume wedding dress doesn't count?! It's not as if I've worn it since my wedding Grin

Probably handbag (£200, I chose it and asked DH to buy it for my birthday one year), coats (can't remember how much they all cost) or boots (just ordered a pair for £140, had my eye on them last year and decided to treat myself this year after getting lots of birthday money).

I don't tend to spend as much on actual clothes. I don't have the kind of job that requires dressing up very smart. If I had a high powered job and a salary to match, i'd love to dress in expensive tailored outfits Grin

My leather jacket - I don’t wear nearly enough!
Recently I bought a pair of Tracey Neuls shoes - so so expensive but I just adore them.

Fredstheteds · 24/11/2021 19:37

@FlamingGoat

My Dubarrys . I've worn them almost every day since I got them 3 years ago.
Agree

My oh brought me another pair earlier- brand new £220.... I’m so pleased
Iseeyoulookingatme · 24/11/2021 19:40

A red wool coat from boden I think it cost £150 I've just lost some weight so can fit back into it again. I shall be putting it on over the christmas period.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 24/11/2021 19:41

Bags, 2 Dior and a LV.

PiesNotGuys · 24/11/2021 19:42

My £80 walking boots.

Clothing-wise, not shoes, I don’t have anything that cost over about £35 and even that’s a coat.

I’ve got a blanket on my bed worth £75, does that count?

Bideshi · 24/11/2021 19:42

Mine's slightly different. A Thea Porter gypsy dress bought in 1970 for £30 in the days when a good dress from Biba cost £10.50. It ended up in the kids dressing up box. It had a moth hole in the skirt and a rip in the front of the bodice. Sent it to Kerry Taylor vintage clothes auctions where it was lovingly restored and sold for £2,500, the metal belt for another £800.
Happy to think that it's being worn again and loved.

OldWivesTale · 24/11/2021 19:53

Northface Arctic parka. I think it was 250 ish but I've had it for over 10 years now. I've just bought a Didrikson raincoat that cost about the same but I'm hoping that will last for years to come too.

DramaAlpaca · 24/11/2021 19:55

My leather biker jacket.

Wow!
GinnyMackesy · 24/11/2021 19:58

Wedding dress. I cannot say the amount out loud, or even think or type it.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 24/11/2021 19:59

I spent over £500 worth of luxury merino wool so I could crochet a very special shawl for myself.
I didn't use up all the wool, but I still had to spend the money..

Bellyups · 24/11/2021 20:00

YSL bag

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 24/11/2021 20:01

The most expensive item I've ever bought was my wedding dress, it cost £350.
It was custom made for me (in Hungary) to closely copy one I saw in a magazine.
I still have it

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 24/11/2021 20:04

Clothing it would be Chanel fantasy tweed jackets about £4000 each.
Bag it would be my Hermes bag, followed by chanel 2.55’s.

VitalsStable · 24/11/2021 20:07

YSL bag here too.

Comedycook · 24/11/2021 20:10

A wheels and doll baby miniskirt from the noughties!!! Think it was about £200 or maybe more...I wore it once! It doesn't fit me anymore!

FAQs · 24/11/2021 20:19

A few coats from Favourbrook. Expensive but stunning.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 24/11/2021 20:20

Can I play? My On Cloud flyers.

Not quite in the same bracket as anybody else, is it?
