High waist & dreaded 'gunt'

Sorry to be crude but how do women with a slight tummy avoid enhancing it with high waisted jeans or trousers?! I have a lovely shirt that looks much dressier tucked in jeans but the nice ones all seem to be high waisted. I am not massively overweight (a tall quite slim size 12) but being the wrong size of 40 and two kids doesn't do anything for your lower belly! It feels like pregnancy again with either over bump or under bump style trousers! I have only tried more fitted style high waisted jeans with loose tops. maybe I need to go the full hog and get the thick denim type so it doesn't cling? I just feel massive! Any advise on nice jeans for tucking shirt in for nice meal/casual with friends type thing.

Picture attached for example. Do you have to to be stick thin to carry this off?

The only thing I was able to do was do lots of work on strengthening my abs. I had a bit of a tummy overhang ever since having DS 5 years ago.

The other option could be spanks? Those big hold-me-in knickers?

FrancescaContini · 02/11/2021 15:37

Erm, what’s a “gunt”??

Allgreyeverything · 02/11/2021 15:37

To be honest I am a size 8 with a flat stomach and in some high waisted styles I also have the full on ‘hunt’ on show- it’s aaaawfull. So I believe it’s the design’s fault.
However I recently bought some wide leg high waisted trousers from mango and they don’t have this effect

Allgreyeverything · 02/11/2021 15:37

I meant gunt, not hunt

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 02/11/2021 15:38

I think it's also called a FUPA meaning fat upper pubic area....

unless I've got this totally wrong!

CimCardashian · 02/11/2021 15:38

This springs to mind!

Yes I think you have to be pretty slim to carry the tucked in, high waisted look.

We call it a gump here out of interest!

Allgreyeverything · 02/11/2021 15:40

Gunt is when your stomach and your vagina optically become like one, and look like a balloon, especially bad in high waisted jeans

This is hilarious! Hope I don't quite look like this Shock

Ah, ok.

So gunt = gut + c*??

Allgreyeverything · 02/11/2021 15:42

Yes…

FrancescaContini · 02/11/2021 15:46

Nice ShockConfused

There’s a thread on here in which some posters are agreeing that it’s really unkind to make “small dick” jokes because it’s nasty to make comments about people’s bodies, and yet here we have this word “gunt” which sounds really crude, IMO.

Allgreyeverything · 02/11/2021 15:47

Erm, we are talking about our own gunts.

FrancescaContini · 02/11/2021 15:48

Okay 👌 crack on then (no pun intended)

Allgreyeverything · 02/11/2021 15:50

God. We are cracking little miss offended.

doodleygirl · 02/11/2021 15:54

Can I join in, I had a horrific time in the changing rooms last week Tried on what I was hoping would be a gorgeous pair of high wasted jeans, Im not stick thin, but not fat. Oh my, I think the picture earlier on was of me Grin Im sticking to mid high not high, high.

Goawaymorningsickeness · 02/11/2021 15:57

How disgusting. How can we expect men to be respectful of our bodies if we refer to them like this.

Blendabrethin · 02/11/2021 16:02

I wouldn't bother trying to hide it tbh. It's totally normal for anyone who has had a vhild/is over 30 to have a sticky out belly. It is a normal human shape.

rainydogday · 02/11/2021 16:05

Sorry to offend anyone. I am laughing in jest at myself but also wondering if there is any suggestions of a style
Of jeans that avoids a certain look. I am trying to embrace age and changes in my body, I was once tall and thin and now I really have to think about what I wear and how it makes me feel. Style and Beauty section on here can be helpful Smile

I've never heard the word gunt before. Can you have camel toe and a gunt at the same time?

SalsaLove · 02/11/2021 16:05

Vile word

Bortles · 02/11/2021 16:09

Lovely term... FUPA I thought was said by anatomically ignorant sexist men. Gunt... well, it'd stop me in my tracks if anyone in real life said it

Frauhubert · 02/11/2021 16:10

It took a good few minutes for the offended and disgusted to find this thread! The moaning and complaining makes my gunt turn

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 02/11/2021 16:11

You can indeed!
