Love that shirt @Stokey.
I'm having a last browse of the final reductions and trying to figure out if there is anything I REALLY need.
Best Buy recently has been my puffs coat from Rains - just so warm and waterproof but still feels stylish.
@Nomorefuckstogive MrShop complimented me on the new sweatshirt yesterday which I wore to the cinema with 7FAM black skinnies, Grenson Nanette boots, Whistles biker, cashmere grey scarf from @CarolineBringley (best gift ever) and my Longchamp bag.
I've gone on to order an Anime Bing baseball cap in red as I quite often wear a cap for the school run and all the ones I have are black. Cap here
Enjoy this sunny Sunday Voguettes.

OOTD
My new jacket here with Arket black pleated skirt , Uniqlo merino crew neck in black, animal print scarf , Gucci Disco, Whistles lace up Chunky black ankle boots.
Felt nice

shopafrolic · 31/01/2022 11:44

Just ordered socks and t-shirts from Arket (they have a really good quality basics range) and a couple of sale dresses which I will link if any good.
So glad the new jacket is already working hard for you @DryWhiteagainW - what will you do with the old one?
I have Covid again! The second time in 8 weeks with all new symptoms so definitely not else positive tests. So frustrating.......

Everyonelovessparkles · 31/01/2022 12:03

Great outfit dry, it sounds very ‘you’ Smile.

Oh no shop what a nuisance. Though I am hearing quite a lot recently about people getting it again in a short space of time. Very annoying for you. Glad you are pleased with your new sweatshirt.

I have recently bought this Kiehls serum. I’ve only been using it less than a week but already I think my crows feet and under eye wrinkles look less visible. So, so far so good!

When I went out last week I wore my new fluffy blue leopard cardigan from John Lewis and my A line jigsaw leather skirt. It was a good casual outfit and I liked the difference in texture between the fluffy cardigan and leather skirt. Plus I was nice and toasty Grin always a bonus!!

Stokey · 31/01/2022 12:05

Oh no Shop, that sucks. Hope you don't feel too bad. So much of it still around. Dd2 has been off for nearly a week with headache & temperature but is still testing negative.

I like Arket, very good quality for the high street.

New jacket is hard at work Dry, feels like the right time for it. I keep going out in my big coat & being too hot.

DryWhiteagainW · 31/01/2022 22:19

Shop think I’ll keep the old one to wear with trousers as it’s a bit longer but tbh too big. Can’t sell it as I had the sleeves shortened otherwise I would give that a go

DryWhiteagainW · 31/01/2022 22:23

I love Arket. Excellent quality for timeless but chic pieces. I like the fact they do a lot of natural fibres too.

shopafrolic · 03/02/2022 08:12

Interested to see Wardrobe Icons recommending Hush jeans here. They look very similar to the old Paige Jimmies that we loved @DryWhiteagainW

Stokey · 03/02/2022 16:06

My neighbour swears by Hush jeans. We have very different shapes - she's long waisted with a much straighter body than me - so I've never been tempted.

shopafrolic · 03/02/2022 16:51

Am I long waisted @Stokey ? I have absolutely no idea.

Stokey · 03/02/2022 17:56

I don't know Shop, maybe you're just in between. I don't know if there is a way to tell, but my neighbour is 5ft6 but looks taller as her body is quite long. I think of you as having long legs more than anything!

shopafrolic · 04/02/2022 07:59

Off to Google if there is a formula to find out!

CarolineBringley · 05/02/2022 10:22

Oooh I love the long waisted vs short waisted thing. Figuring that out literally changed my clothes life😃 You're short waisted if your legs are longer than your torso, ie your torso is short. You're long waisted if your torso is longer than your legs. I think your short waisted @shopafrolic but that @MarshaBradyo might be long waisted even though you're both really tall.

Stokey · 05/02/2022 11:13

@CarolineBringley, I assume you're short waisted like me? Think Blair may be long waisted.

CarolineBringley · 05/02/2022 11:28

Hi @Stokey yes short waisted like you! I used to mistakenly think I am petite because of short legs but I am actually regular sized in trousers and then petite tops (if I can get them).

I would love to wear that lovely shirt dress that @whysorude linked but it's dropped waist which doesn't go with hour glass and short waisted so I don't even go there and just admire from afar!

Boots of dreams for my 25 year old clubbing self

DryWhiteagainW · 06/02/2022 08:39

Shopping yesterday looking for A white cotton shirt to wear under a knitted vest , so needed to be longer, covering hip length. Must have tried in every shirt in the city. This is obv an impossible piece to find. Everything swamped me, all over sized and ridiculous. Angry What’s going on with clothes?

shopafrolic · 08/02/2022 15:59

any good? @DryWhiteagainW

DryWhiteagainW · 08/02/2022 22:28

Yes shop that’s the sort of thing exactly but I think it’s oos

shopafrolic · 09/02/2022 09:25

or this layering one @DryWhiteagainW

nostylenoclue · 10/02/2022 15:01

I've been following this group for ages, I think you're all marvellous and I love looking through the clothes you post.

I'd love some help to put together a stylish wardrobe - I'm hopeless as my username indicates. I'm a 5' 3" hourglass and I'm a jewelled winter and I'm a size 10/12 depending on the shop.

Thank you

Stokey · 10/02/2022 20:54

Hi @nostylenoclue. I'm a similar shape to you and also a winter but more like an 8 on top and 10-12 on bottom. I like dresses, mainly midi dresses and boots or trainers. I don't think shirt dresses really suit me. Also like a flowing skirt in the summer. I'm into wider trousers at the moment with a more fitted top. But it really depends what you like. I probably have a more boho style, others on here are more structured. @CarolineBringley has a similar shape to me but a totally different style!

shopafrolic · 11/02/2022 09:26

@nostylenoclue welcome! I'm a jewelled winter too! Different body shape though - I"m a UK 12, 5ft 10 and long legs.
What kind of clothes do you enjoy wearing currently? Whose style do you admire? Any links to things you own that you love / hate? Final question.... (maybe) do you work? What's your lifestyle? Pointless having a wardrobe of high heels and smart dresses if you are a yoga teacher / SAHM.......

nostylenoclue · 11/02/2022 13:22

Thanks for the welcome stokey and shop . In answer to your questions, I work in IT and it's very casual when I'm in the office, I normally wear v-neck, scoop or square neck tops from Kettlewell and jeans plus a hoodie. Work from home 2 days a week. Basically dress like a superannuated teenager - hence the no style!

I do love a kind of 50's fitted look - I've got some winser dresses in blue and purple and they do look good . I have some bombshell dresses too in plain jewel colours (I don't like patterns) and they look great too but the problem is they aren't really casual. I guess my main quandary is how to look good casual?

I've had my colours done which is how I know I'm a jewelled winter- would it be worth me investing in having a style analysis too? I think I've read on your previous threads about 'ingenue' - have you both had your style analysed and where did you get it done?
