Beauty Advent Calendars 2021 Thread 3 - Decisions Decisions! (Spoilers included)

Hope it’s ok to have started the thread as we seemed to run out of the last one a bit quickly! And I was really enjoying the thread and reading everyone’s thoughts.

I started reading the first one determined not to buy one this year.

Currently I have the Rituals one and have just ordered the Origins 12 Day one for the 12 days of Christmas!

Let the chat and decisions continue!

Regarding sorting and sorting like others I have my stash sorted into bags of cleansers, toners etc. Now that travel is back on the cards I will use them up that way.

Yes it stays the same. The spend used to be more I think and the calendar less but people were returning their purchased items once they got the calendar, so I think that's why they raised the price of the calendar slightly and lowered the spend.

He is very good. I do my MiL's cleaning and he volunteered to do it while I'm at the caravan this week. At least the weather at home isn't as Biblical as it is on Anglesey for his trip into town.

Just ordered two. I had to do two separate orders but as I was buying 2 cardigans at €36 each, it worked out perfectly.

It was all a bit of a faff though. I arrived into the office only to find I'd forgotten my wallet. I normally just throw it into my laptop bag but I had extra bits I'm dropping off to dd today so forgot. I had to phone dh to get his cc number. So much for the secret shopping . Then the internal system was down so I had to use a hotspot to connect. Then that stopped working after I had ordered the 1st one so I downloaded the app and ordered it from there. I was determined!

Anyway, I hope I haven't accidentally ordered 6 of them at full price

Also delighted with the brown, rather than black, pencil but would prefer black mascara. I'll give the brown a go though.

Another one here impressed with @latedecember1963 's son. He sounds like a great lad.

Just ordered M&S. The site seems to be working fine this morning so 🤞it stays that way. I’m also happy to see a brown mascara and eye liner as I feel that colour suits me better and I already have a lifetimes supply of both in black from previous calendars and gifts 😂. Right now I’m feeling ridiculously excited about M&S, so much so that if F&M can’t trace my order I’ll happily take a refund 😊

Feeling exactly the same! I ordered F&M in a bit of a panic as Space NK and Cult Beauty didn't appeal this year and I was worried I'd be left with nothing. But I now have JL and have just ordered M&S (agree it looks much better now I can see the contents properly) and would rather have the £230 back tbh. M&S seems like a great deal, and I was needing new underwear anyway.

Glad you RoI people got a good exchange rate too. It’s so frustrating when you fell you are being ‘done’ on the exchange rate and so many companies seem to do it.

Just ordered the M&S calendar - got some winter clothes for DD to meet the minimum spend.

@Luvacuppatea I've just had my email, the F&M calendar has been dispatched. Looks like I'll have 3 calendars this year then! Maybe I should do Jadvent

Well, I have to eat my earlier words. Just back from shopping and planning on phoning F&M when there was a knock on the door and what has turned up? My advent calendar!😍. Despite having an online account with F&M (which doesn’t even show the calendar) I had no email despatch notification. But the calendar is here now and I’m mightily relieved 😊

Just opened the outer wrapping on F&M to check that there are no signs of leaks or spills on the actual colander, and there’s a note inside to say that one item has been replaced . I hadn’t even remembered that this particular product was going to be included anyway, , so it’s not a problem and I guess this might be happening here and there with supply issues

My F&M arrived today too! Haven't opened it yet, but I know it's that because I decided to select 'Madam' as my title when I ordered it. The postman asked if I was madam xxx when I answered the door 😂

I haven't looked at the contents too hard this year, but I've always enjoyed the M&S calendar. Even at the increased price to £40, it works out at roughly £1.70 per item for a daily surprise treat. And I have found some products I've quite enjoyed that way.

I agree with another who said they've probably reversed the £30 purchase/£40 calendar to cut down on losses from returns of the 'other purchases', but it's still good value. Plus, my 'other purchase' will definitely be enjoyed and used.

Liberty are doing £10 voucher with every £50 spend - so you get £40 if you buy the advent .. it doesn't seem to be shifting as quickly this year ..

I'm so on the fence with M&S! It's the brown & grey liners which have turned my head haha

And M&S calendar ordered. It ended up just seeming like too good value not to get it!
I've bought two pairs of jeans as my qualifying purchase, one of which will probably go back.

Rant warning.

14 days after I ordered and 13 days after it was despatched into the capable not hands of Hermes, my CB Calendar has still not arrived.

I'm getting really mad now. I'm being given the run around by Cult Beauty and they are fobbing me off. After a 'chat' with someone online, I received an email saying they still hadn't heard back from Hermes and would get back in touch as soon as they have had a response. Seriously? They haven't even given me a response time on the latest email which can only mean they don't hold out much hope.

My contract is with Cult Beauty - not bloody Hermes! I really don't care what Hermes have to say and don't see why I have to wait for Hermes to investigate.

I just want my Calendar. It's not like I'm waiting for a £20 mascara or something, this has cost me £215. From where I'm sitting, they are doing absolutely fuck all about it and I can't even afford to buy a replacement because they have my money.

I am in the same boat @notangelinajolie they have until tomorrow and I will be leaving negative reviews all over social media. Its absolutely disgusting the way they are treating people.

I would advise everyone to check that their advent calendars contain all that they are supposed to.
I don’t want to say which one I bought but it was one of the more expensive ones.
One of the high value items was missing. I have now been given store credit for it. I would rather have had the item however I can’t even buy the item.
