Beauty Advent Calendars 2021 Thread 3 - Decisions Decisions! (Spoilers included)

Hope it’s ok to have started the thread as we seemed to run out of the last one a bit quickly! And I was really enjoying the thread and reading everyone’s thoughts.

I started reading the first one determined not to buy one this year.

Currently I have the Rituals one and have just ordered the Origins 12 Day one for the 12 days of Christmas!

Let the chat and decisions continue!

Regarding sorting and sorting like others I have my stash sorted into bags of cleansers, toners etc. Now that travel is back on the cards I will use them up that way.

Just back from M&S .. the staff were speaking to customers in the store to let them know about the calendar launching tomorrow. They seemed genuinely excited about it, nice to see!

I'm getting excited now.

I hope they launch here tomorrow too. I'm tied up in meetings from 10 so I'd better do a bit of planning tonight on what I'm going to buy. Our local shop definitely won't have most of what I would buy so I want to do it online.

I’ve not given M&S much thought up to now, but I’ve just had a good look at it and there’s definitely enough in there that I would use to justify the spend. Think I’m going to get it as (a) the thread on here is always good fun, plus (b) l’ve only succumbed to Fortnums this year and have had no despatch email despite ordering soon after was released - I really I don’t want to end up calendarless ☹️. I’m one of those (possibly few) people who actually like the Prai neck stuff and noticed that it now comes in this cute seasonal pot, so hopefully that will be my qualifying spend . Excited for tomorrow now 😊

Irish M&S site is saying 1 day to go.

After much prevarication I think I am on the M&S bandwagon also….

Looks like F&M is back in stock if anyone missed it.

I haven't had my dispatch email yet either, which is incredibly rude given that I too ordered soon after release.

I can't decide between LF and M&S. LF is £68 with code and I can't think of anything to buy from M&S.

For anyone wondering what to buy, have a look at nightwear and dressing gowns/loungewear. They had some really nice bits - which I wouldn't have thought would be nice unless I'd seen them irl if that makes sense!! I went in to see the sleep bras which have good reviews so boring but necessary!

I’m getting thermals for my DM for my spend, but I did spot a black ‘leather look’ blazer on the website today. I am old and still a bit goth though

I've never even heard of a sleep bra!

I don't think I'd like it. I hate being constrained in bed. Hotel beds with top sheets drive me mad unless I pull the sheet out so it's nice and loose.

I only ordered it yesterday & my Harrods calendar is being delivered by DPD tomorrow. They were coming today, but I had to redirect as I was out. I’m impressed.

That’s impressive @Offredismysister! I’ve just checked and I ordered / paid for Fortnums on 20th August and have heard zilch from them since - I know we were told that the calendar wasn’t available at that time but I would have appreciated at least an update and now, a despatch advice email. Not impressed ☹️. Next year I’m definitely only getting a calendar that’s available for immediate despatch, with Harrods or NaP hopefully top of the list (how’s that for advance planning 😂)

@Luvacuppatea - have you contacted them? I definitely would and take to twitter if no reasonable response.

Have M&S released the size of the contents? Starting to get tempted but I'm trying to talk myself out of it. If the sizes are small that'll help

@Luvacuppatea I wasn't getting stressed about F&M but I just logged in and it's not showing in My Account that I placed an order. I bought it on 3rd September. They weren't slow in taking payment either so they'd better have a record of the order. I've emailed customer services, I still have the confirmation email. Will let you know what they say

That’s good news @AprilLady - nothing for me yet though. I’ll contact Fortnums in the morning @OchonAgusOchonOh and hopefully they will be responsive. That’s a bit worrying @Bavarois, especially as they were super -speedy at taking payment. Hopefully as the calendar is back in stock now, supply shouldn’t be an issue. Yes, please report back how you get along and I will do likewise......

I'm excited about M&S now! Friday is payday so going to go to my local store and buy it then and stock up on underwear and tights while there.

@OchonAgusOchonOh a sleep bra is basically a lovely soft crop top to wear under pjs. I couldn't be without one now - especially post baby 😆
