Beauty Advent Calendars 2021 Thread 3 - Decisions Decisions! (Spoilers included)

Hope it’s ok to have started the thread as we seemed to run out of the last one a bit quickly! And I was really enjoying the thread and reading everyone’s thoughts.

I started reading the first one determined not to buy one this year.

Currently I have the Rituals one and have just ordered the Origins 12 Day one for the 12 days of Christmas!

Let the chat and decisions continue!

Regarding sorting and sorting like others I have my stash sorted into bags of cleansers, toners etc. Now that travel is back on the cards I will use them up that way.

Still no CB and they have replied to me on Twitter with a completely different thing to what they replied to my website enquiry with Hmm Fingers crossed it turns up tomorrow though....

@OchonAgusOchonOh, I can recommend the Autograph Velvet Touch ones - not cheap, so hopefully you won’t need to buy too many Smile

I am excitingly getting a mattress protector from M&S for the beauty advent! Got some snag tights recently and I am now converted to them, some excellent colours although I am generally in black I did wear some bright pink ones to the races with a navy dress, ankle boots and matching pink scarf, nails and lip. I got a compliment on the colour coordination when I placed a bet. But mostly I like them as I don’t need to pull them up during the day as being on the taller wide hip size they usually don’t stay up even in the largest size going, I am generally between size 12-16 and use the E size. Promise I am not paid but highly recommended, paper packaging too!

Hmmm... I need bras and waiting for the M&S calendar, but I'm not feeling tempted by the products this year, and I really don't need them. I do however want the beauty tin 😂

They do look nice but I need 15 denier ones rather than opaque. I got a bit carried away buying opaque one last year and haven't worn them as I was working from home. Still am half the week.

I was looking through their tights - I really don't know why they sell barely black tights. They're just washed out black ones. I want black ones, although others must like them or they wouldn't sell them.

My CB More Glow and More Indulgence boxes arrived today. Nicely packaged and nice and weighty! I missed out on the AC then got FOMO. So as soon as the More boxes were released I ordered. My DH will fill last years AC with them for me Smile. I'll need to find another 3 bits to fill all the drawers, but cheaper than the proper AC!

M&S calendar is £40 with a £30 non-food spend - it's just been on the Martin Lewis show while I'm reading the thread!

@TheWeeDonkeyFella - thanks but I'm in Ireland so it will be different here. Usually rounded up a good bit. I'd say €50 with a €40 spend. Hopefully no higher than that.

Cult Beauty are investigating my missing parcel apparently. Am in the mood to cancel it now anyway. If they say I have to wait to the next release I think I definitely
will. I love the NAP calendar and I don't think it will top that for me. I could get some of the Edits instead as long as the investigation hurries up!

One thing that is annoying me from their message is it seems that even if I don't agree to a parcel being left in a safe place it looks like the liability is being placed onto the customer regardless. Its a license for delivery drivers to steal. Luckily in this case I think they have no proof of leaving it as no one came, but if they do you may be out of luck.

Credit card only for orders in future so I can charge back if needed.

My favourite left in a safe space (without permission) was a massive box in full view of the street. It came up to about waist height and they had just sat my doormat on top like that was going to fool anyone Confused.

Just had a good read of the Cult terms and conditions and while it mentions they may leave in a safe place it doesn't put liability to the customer if you haven't authorised this with the delivery company (some websites do apparently) so I have an out if they try and insist it was delivered.

I got some of the black and red stripy ones and the bee ones. Yellow and black. Feel like the wicked witch of the east in them. Grin

I wish they'd release the sizes of the M&S contents. I always get it and know I will but I would be interested.
I'm getting CB for my birthday and I've bought John Lewis and opened it already. The JL one is excellent. Very sturdy box - I need to list the empty box on eBay. I bought it because many of the full sizes are items I really wanted. The candle is unboxed which I was surprised about. If it had been boxed it would have been great to give as a present. I think it's such a great edit. I bought it a couple of years back when it was reduced, but I think this year's is their best yet.

I got the more glow and the more self are edits from CB and will be making up my own calendar. I'll be joining the waifs and strays thread, which was great last year. Everyone had something different each day.

Cult beauty More Glow is sold out. Mine should arrive tomorrow and the More Glam (and the much discussed goody bag Grin ). Hopefully it will make up for the dreadful Neals Yard experience!

Well my CB has arrived! No idea how or when but just gone to let the dogs out and it was on the doorstep...very early for a Hermes delivery and it definitely wasn't there last night! No email/text so it's a good job I let the dogs out and saw it.
