Beauty Advent Calendars 2021 Thread 3 - Decisions Decisions! (Spoilers included)

Hope it’s ok to have started the thread as we seemed to run out of the last one a bit quickly! And I was really enjoying the thread and reading everyone’s thoughts.

I started reading the first one determined not to buy one this year.

Currently I have the Rituals one and have just ordered the Origins 12 Day one for the 12 days of Christmas!

Let the chat and decisions continue!

Regarding sorting and sorting like others I have my stash sorted into bags of cleansers, toners etc. Now that travel is back on the cards I will use them up that way.

The Christmas cult beauty edits do look good. I wonder if they will coincide with a winter goody bag? I think they normally do one at the end of October/early November. Could work out a better deal that the calendar plus you would have more choice over what edits appeal. It can be a risk to wait though as some edits go fast!

That's interesting, if I miss out on the calendar today/whenever it drops I might think about doing this now that my back up JL is out of stock!

So relieved they're back online...I almost drove to Brighton today to pick up the last in-shop stock. Like a woman possessed.

Just seen the LF fragrance box and thinking that would make a good gift

It's one of those where you get a few minis and then a voucher for a full size

Does anyone know if there are any other similar sets about?

I want to buy for two colleagues but wondering whether to buy different ones as it can be a bit odd if you work in close proximity and where the same fragrance?!

According to the Beauty Advent Calendar site it’s today but I’ve not had an email yet.

@BunnytheFriendlyDragon, I think the LF box is pretty good, especially as you get the £55 off a full bottle of one of the samples in the set. From the beauty advent calendar site, PAULALF gets you 20% off.

Online yesterday, John Lewis calendar said that it would be re available mid October, this message has now disappeared. Do you think that they won't have anymore?

Possibly, although they may just revise the date. Would seem rather odd if JL didn't know before now that they weren't able to get more stock. Coordinating a calendar must require quite a bit of planning.

@MidnightMeltdown I bought it last year. I knew the date beforehand and was checking the site and bought it just before the email came out. I'm sure I knew the date two years ago but I didn't get it.

Plus, I don't think that the JL calendar has been released in stores yet. I don't think that they would bring out a calendar and not have any in stores.

Latest in Beauty are bringing out two new boxes on Thursday. One has a 30 ml of Molecule 4.

My Liberty calendar came yesterday - every item had been stolen and all the cards were missing. Just an empty box. Devastated. Obviously stolen by someone in the courier warehouse or depot.

Getting a replacement but it’s stolen the joy.

Wow that’s crazy on the liberty advent calendars! Did it look like the outer box had been tampered with? Wondering if they have a pile of empty ones that have sent out in error?

I have spent the morning talking myself in and out of the Cult advent calendar. The truth is there is nothing I really want in it. I’d like the candle and Molton Brown but not desperate, none of the makeup will suit me. But I have all the self control of a toddler at a birthday party and just want it .

Going to hold out for a couple of the edit boxes and a winter goody bag. I could add a candle I really want and my favourite molton brown gel to make up the threshold spend. Just need the calendar sold out by the next time I check and all is good.

Whilst looking on eBay, marketplace, and Vinted, I've seen some sellers who are selling every item from this years high value calendars, individually

Yes I think that the lipstick shade in cult beauty is a particularly poor choice. Very few people will suit that colour. The shade in NAP is slightly better (more universal), but still too pink for me, which is one of the things that put me off it.

I always sell the items I won't use on eBay. A couple of years ago there were only a couple of things I really wanted from Liberty so bought them from eBay.

I wish Cult Beauty would get a move on and release. My second choice is NAP and it's pretty much sold out...

That’s a good idea - I should remember to check on eBay for things I’d like to try that aren’t in the calendars I’ve bought.

How awful about the Liberty calendars. I’m glad to hear they are replacing no problem. I wonder what’s going on and whether there has been an error somewhere because who would have time to open 25 individual drawers and how would they not get caught?!
