Beauty Advent Calendars 2021 Thread 3 - Decisions Decisions! (Spoilers included)

Hope it’s ok to have started the thread as we seemed to run out of the last one a bit quickly! And I was really enjoying the thread and reading everyone’s thoughts.

I started reading the first one determined not to buy one this year.

Currently I have the Rituals one and have just ordered the Origins 12 Day one for the 12 days of Christmas!

Let the chat and decisions continue!

Regarding sorting and sorting like others I have my stash sorted into bags of cleansers, toners etc. Now that travel is back on the cards I will use them up that way.

Quick sellout - I reckon that Harrods will be the same when released (not that I'm going to buy it!).

One year, a F&M hamper was delivered by mistake to my house. I wasn't expecting it and didn't know if my OH had ordered one (we've had a few over the years). Turns out he hadn't and it was sent to the wrong address. I contacted F&M and someone came to take it away from me collect it.

Has anyone with the Liberty received and opened it yet? I have a question ( I can PM you about ) re one of the drawers.

Anyone getting the Glossybox calendar? It doesn't look wildly exciting, but there are a couple of decent things in there and £20 off, reducing it to £85, if you also order a subscription box (plus a skincare gift set). I'm tempted...

That is true. The sheer level of entitlement from me. How dare I actually expect something I ordered and paid for to actually arrive on time.

Especially when you could donate the money to charity …

I was told I was entitled or not liking a Liberty drawer once. This was obviously before the drawers of disappointment were officially recognised.

I’ve ordered it as I had a decent amount of credit from surveys which made it really reasonable. I’ve had it before and enjoyed it.

@OchonAgusOchonOh You disgust me with your wastefulness, won’t you think of the environment? I only use organic, no waste products which is mainly just water from a puddle and I have the skin of a newborn.

Well, actually, I was only buying it for the 97 yeal old blind orphaned turtle with a missing leg who I rescued from a turtle farm and who had never had an advent calendar before.

I knitted my own calendar from recycled llama beans and soot. I may have ended up with mercury poisoning from the soot but it was worth it for the environment.

Online yesterday, John Lewis calendar said that it would be re available mid October, this message has now disappeared. Do you think that they won't have anymore?

Yea I would like to know this too! I'm on a course all day but luckily it's online so I can quickly purchase but I can't keep constantly checking this thread or for an email. JL was my back up so I'm panicking I won't have any now!

CB seem to have removed the More Self Care edit beautyadventcalendar.net/cult-beauty-the-christmas-edits-2021/. A pity, as I was planning on getting that and the More Glow one. It had an unusual mix of stuff in it that I quite liked.

I think I'll go for the Cult Conscious edit instead www.cultbeauty.com/cult-beauty-the-cult-conscious-edit/13344660.html.Between them, that gives me 22 items so another 2 or 3 and I'm sorted for a calendar.

Oh I hope they bring that edit back for your poor turtle @OchonAgusOchonOh.

The Christmas cult beauty edits do look good. I wonder if they will coincide with a winter goody bag? I think they normally do one at the end of October/early November. Could work out a better deal that the calendar plus you would have more choice over what edits appeal. It can be a risk to wait though as some edits go fast!

The glow and hair care edits both have enough products that I already use and like to make them a worthwhile purchase. But do I hold out and hope to get a goody bag .
