I thought I’d post on here as it might be of some help to anyone considering the same. I have tried literally everything. Profilo, thread lifts, expensive creams such as strivectin and I was even booked in for Morpheus8 and facetite ( for the neck ) but I cancelled as it was 3k and I didn’t want to waste anymore money and only get a 25 - 30% improvement.

I do actually think that the above would and does work if you have fairly low key laxity but mine came from a 6 stone 3lb weight loss in my mid 40’s and, by 49 my neck was quite bad.

I’ve dabbled in Botox and fillers since I was about 42 and loved the effect they gave me. I wanted to feel more refreshed and look less knackered.

Anyway I found a surgeon who specialised in face and neck lifts ( as well as tummy tucks and breast augmentation ) but the face and neck lifts are usually done by him under a local anaesthetic - I absolutely didn’t want to go under. He does them under a local so as to minimise recovery times and not have to use bandages and drains ect.

Anyway I had the consultation a few months ago and it was booked for the 22nd of September ( he is booked up well in advance ) plus this gave me the chance to save further.

I had the surgery two days ago and within half an hour of it being over I was back in the car and on my way home ( I live 3 hours away from where I had it done ) it was more expensive than having it done locally but I would have had to have gone under and I wanted to avoid that.

He does at least 10 face and neck lifts per week ( I was one of three that day ) and I researched his work throughly. He is one of the top surgeons in this field so I was happy to go with him due to his experience.

Ive put a photo of me taken in the morning in the hotel before I left for the clinic and one half an hour afterward in the car on the way home.

To say after losing all that weight that I was left with no definable chin or jawline that I was upset would be minimising it, I had tried everything before this and used to avoid photos even my DD's wedding in June. I won’t lie I’m bloody over the moon with the results ( so far so good )

My lower face in the after pics is quite swollen still and it’s painful But the painkillers are doing the job though and I’m excited to be 1/2/3/4 weeks post procedure to see the results properly.

Scars will be along the hairline, there is some puckering in the upper incisions ( all completely normal ) but my profile is transformed. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t easy and I properly 💩 myself when I went into the theatre 😬 but I’m so glad I’ve done it!

I would say if you are very unhappy with your neck or jowls this is a great procedure, I believe that Morpheus8 and facetite can also give very good results too if yours isn’t as bad as mine was, you can pay a lot less than I did if you are happy to go under too.

I shall upload some more photos each week for progression and for anyone that’s considering this to see. I could do with a tummy tuck Ect but I’m not bothered about that as it’s my face that people see, I use Spanx and wonder bras and that works for me 🙂

I see lots of threads on what to do with a saggy neck or jowls, I’m not saying this is what anyone should do in fact I’d advocate trying everything else first, threads can be effective as can Morpheus8 and facetite they just didn’t give me the results I wanted.

I just wanted to post this as I saved for a long time and it wasn’t a quick decision but if you’ve tried everything and it makes you as sad as it made me then I’d say it’s well worth saving for if you can?

Oh brilliant @Namechangenumber23 I'm rubbish at finding threads and linking Smile and thank you so much!

Bruising has nearly gone now, a bit (boak) scabby still but it's not so obvious - I will take some photos tomorrow as I didn't get around to it yesterday but suffice to say I'm still so, so happy and the swelling is so much better.

I actually had a consultation with him (by video due to the pandemic) last year. But when he asked me whether I had hit menopause yet and I said no (I was 48 at the time) he recommended waiting or as soon as I hit it everything would go all droopy again. I don't really have a big neck issue, mine is more slight jowling, but I was disappointed at the news that it'd be a waste of time to do it now...

Wagsandclaws · 07/10/2021 19:44

@InTheNameOfAllThatIsHonest oh did he? That doesn't surprise me tbh and does make sense.

For me it was primarily weight loss but I've also only had 3/4 periods a year for the last couple of years so my body is getting there too.

As promised more healing photos - this is Just over two weeks.

I'll put up the before pics too. Please excuse the loo in the background of some pics 🤣as I had just got up this morning and was in pj's.

I've included a face on one for comparison to two weeks ago face on. I didn't expect my lower face to be lifted too as I was so focussed on my neck but it was a lower face lift and neck lift so that makes sense.

You look fantastic! Very youthful!

Namechangenumber23 · 08/10/2021 10:12

Blimey! What a difference, you look lovely.
No worries about the links, I'd saved it last year because I was so impressed.
I hear a lot of good things about his work.

Shallwegoforawalk · 08/10/2021 10:44

Wow wow wow you look absolutely fabulous OP and I agree you could pass for late 30s/early 40s easily. He has done a great job!

workshy44 · 08/10/2021 12:58

You are a total wow , so youthful and really gorgeous. You are so so good to post these. My skin is holding up well thanks to the $$$$ I spend on it but gravity happens to us all so definitely something I will look into when the time comes

ferretface · 08/10/2021 14:17

You must be thrilled OP, great result :)

InTheNameOfAllThatIsHonest · 08/10/2021 15:14

Wow!!!! What amazing work. Worth every penny I'm sure you agree. Very jealous (in the nicest possible way)!

Wagsandclaws · 09/10/2021 08:05

Thank you all so much, yes I'm so, so happy with the results. 🥳

LastStarfighter · 09/10/2021 15:15

Wow! You look amazing.

LaurieFairyCake · 09/10/2021 15:19

That is just the most incredible result

Your weight loss had aged your face by about 10-15 years (I really hope you don't think that's rude)

And it's knocked it all off and more - you look about 42 to me now

Just amazing Thanks

thenightsky · 09/10/2021 16:19

Wow! What a transformation! You look 15 years younger.

CandyLeBonBon · 09/10/2021 16:21

GreenLunchBox · 09/10/2021 17:59

Pretty impressive. NGL

Wagsandclaws · 09/10/2021 18:56

Yay so glad you all agree - it's given me so much more confidence, I went to Cribbs Causeway Mall today and went a bit mad on winter clothes.

Putting a photo with makeup today to make up for yesterday without make up pic, blusher is a bit heavy 😬 but I've started to wear my hair up again when I go out as if you are quite strategic with where you pull the tendrils down I can hide most of the evidence. Not bad for only 17 days post op 🙂

Thanks so much for the complements it really does mean a lot.
