I had a neck and lower facelift 48 hours ago

I thought I’d post on here as it might be of some help to anyone considering the same. I have tried literally everything. Profilo, thread lifts, expensive creams such as strivectin and I was even booked in for Morpheus8 and facetite ( for the neck ) but I cancelled as it was 3k and I didn’t want to waste anymore money and only get a 25 - 30% improvement.

I do actually think that the above would and does work if you have fairly low key laxity but mine came from a 6 stone 3lb weight loss in my mid 40’s and, by 49 my neck was quite bad.

I’ve dabbled in Botox and fillers since I was about 42 and loved the effect they gave me. I wanted to feel more refreshed and look less knackered.

Anyway I found a surgeon who specialised in face and neck lifts ( as well as tummy tucks and breast augmentation ) but the face and neck lifts are usually done by him under a local anaesthetic - I absolutely didn’t want to go under. He does them under a local so as to minimise recovery times and not have to use bandages and drains ect.

Anyway I had the consultation a few months ago and it was booked for the 22nd of September ( he is booked up well in advance ) plus this gave me the chance to save further.

I had the surgery two days ago and within half an hour of it being over I was back in the car and on my way home ( I live 3 hours away from where I had it done ) it was more expensive than having it done locally but I would have had to have gone under and I wanted to avoid that.

He does at least 10 face and neck lifts per week ( I was one of three that day ) and I researched his work throughly. He is one of the top surgeons in this field so I was happy to go with him due to his experience.

Ive put a photo of me taken in the morning in the hotel before I left for the clinic and one half an hour afterward in the car on the way home.

To say after losing all that weight that I was left with no definable chin or jawline that I was upset would be minimising it, I had tried everything before this and used to avoid photos even my DD's wedding in June. I won’t lie I’m bloody over the moon with the results ( so far so good )

My lower face in the after pics is quite swollen still and it’s painful But the painkillers are doing the job though and I’m excited to be 1/2/3/4 weeks post procedure to see the results properly.

Scars will be along the hairline, there is some puckering in the upper incisions ( all completely normal ) but my profile is transformed. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t easy and I properly 💩 myself when I went into the theatre 😬 but I’m so glad I’ve done it!

I would say if you are very unhappy with your neck or jowls this is a great procedure, I believe that Morpheus8 and facetite can also give very good results too if yours isn’t as bad as mine was, you can pay a lot less than I did if you are happy to go under too.

I shall upload some more photos each week for progression and for anyone that’s considering this to see. I could do with a tummy tuck Ect but I’m not bothered about that as it’s my face that people see, I use Spanx and wonder bras and that works for me 🙂

I see lots of threads on what to do with a saggy neck or jowls, I’m not saying this is what anyone should do in fact I’d advocate trying everything else first, threads can be effective as can Morpheus8 and facetite they just didn’t give me the results I wanted.

I just wanted to post this as I saved for a long time and it wasn’t a quick decision but if you’ve tried everything and it makes you as sad as it made me then I’d say it’s well worth saving for if you can?

User090 · 24/09/2021 12:18

Wow amazing op looks sore but I’m sure worth it

Mothersister · 24/09/2021 12:22

You look great.

Wagsandclaws · 24/09/2021 12:25

@Shannith I do feel amazing, it's early days hence why I'll probably post a weekly pic I orally then a monthly one to see how it is in the first six months.

I have posted on several threads about necks and jowls and only decided to do this as a last resort, it's not something I took lightly due to the surgery and the cost but I'm very glad I took the plunge!

F..

Wow looks amazing, I'm hoping to have a tummy tuck once I have lost another couple of stone.

Wagsandclaws · 24/09/2021 12:43

@Outbutnotoutout do it if you can afford it! Life is too short to feel bad about yourself.

Wow! That's incredible. Also well done on the weight loss

Window1 · 24/09/2021 12:50

Wow 🤩 You must be over the moon with those results. Looks amazing

workshy44 · 24/09/2021 12:52

You look incredible- l'm surprised there is so little swelling
Amazing, thanks so much for posting

GreekTragedy · 24/09/2021 12:52

I have filler in my lips, chin and jaw line! But think I'm losing the war! Def going for a consultation!

Although @Wagsandclaws did you say £5k with general? That seems a really good price?

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 24/09/2021 12:57

Oh fab! I'm thinking of having one done too after weight loss surgery and this looks great. Looking forward to updates.
My neck looks like an ancient turkey.

NannyOggsward · 24/09/2021 13:01

Watching with interest, my neck/face isn’t too bad but need a tummy tuck!

EvilRingahBitch · 24/09/2021 13:01

Placemarking out of curiousity. Best wishes for a good continuing recovery OP

Wagsandclaws · 24/09/2021 13:03

@GreekTragedy I think you'd definitely benefit, tbh I don't know exactly how much cheaper surgeons are, I had a look locally to me ( Bristol ) and I saw a quote for a neck lift for around 6.5 k.

Bear in mind that's just a neck lift and it's possible that you would need, as I did a lower face lift and a neck lift in conjunction with each other as I think jowls constitute lower Face iyswim?

@workshy44 thank you so much Smile

It's early days yet as only 48 hours but I'm quite surprised that there isn't more swelling.

My jaw is much bigger than it normally would be ( I have quite an oval shaped face usually ) and it's shiny where the skin is stretched from fluid near my ear and down my jaw but I have noticed today near my mouth and going up my cheek that it's softer than it was yesterday so I think the swelling is diminishing.

As for bruising I'm wondering if that will come out over the next few days, this too is minimal ( although one of my tragus is quite black and bruised ) it probably will show more over the next few days.

I'll put a photo up next Weds to show the healing and hopefully will have more of my face shape back again. It's all very tight atm,

You look amazing. It's taken years off you, if you don't mind me saying. You look so beautiful on the one where you are smiling.

Indoctro · 24/09/2021 13:09

Wow it looks amazing

GreekTragedy · 24/09/2021 13:15

I've booked my consolation!!!

The prices are

Approx £10k for local and nearly £12k for general. Which makes more sense!

MancMum2000 · 24/09/2021 13:18

You look great OP. I’m considering a tummy tuck with Amir, he seems very good.

Bonheurdupasse · 24/09/2021 13:30

Looks great OP!

Wagsandclaws · 24/09/2021 13:46

@GreekTragedy brilliant! Get all of your questions ready! I found it helped to write down what I wanted to know but tbh I got most of my info from their website anyway.

OP posts:
Wagsandclaws · 24/09/2021 13:47

@MancMum2000 he does loads of those too, do you follow him on Instagram? Lots of before and after photos on there of tummy tucks he's done.

Wagsandclaws · 24/09/2021 13:48

@ParadiseLaundry thank you that's really kind of you to say 🙂

CandyLeBonBon · 24/09/2021 13:55

Yay! Found you op! So interesting! I'm sorely tempted. My face looks like melted wax. I can't bear to look in the mirror any more!

Wagsandclaws · 24/09/2021 14:03

The thing is I had this planned for ages, I didn't just think oh I look rubbish I'll have surgery it was the last resort for me.

@CandyLeBonBon if you honestly feel like you don't like your reflection ( that was where I got to ) then making some enquires won't hurt, that's what I did.

I had a look around and decided that Amir was who I wanted to entrust the job to mostly because of the local anaesthetic and the amount of face and neck lifts he does.

If you are on Instagram have a look at his work, loads of before and afters on there Smile
