I thought I’d post on here as it might be of some help to anyone considering the same. I have tried literally everything. Profilo, thread lifts, expensive creams such as strivectin and I was even booked in for Morpheus8 and facetite ( for the neck ) but I cancelled as it was 3k and I didn’t want to waste anymore money and only get a 25 - 30% improvement.

I do actually think that the above would and does work if you have fairly low key laxity but mine came from a 6 stone 3lb weight loss in my mid 40’s and, by 49 my neck was quite bad.

I’ve dabbled in Botox and fillers since I was about 42 and loved the effect they gave me. I wanted to feel more refreshed and look less knackered.

Anyway I found a surgeon who specialised in face and neck lifts ( as well as tummy tucks and breast augmentation ) but the face and neck lifts are usually done by him under a local anaesthetic - I absolutely didn’t want to go under. He does them under a local so as to minimise recovery times and not have to use bandages and drains ect.

Anyway I had the consultation a few months ago and it was booked for the 22nd of September ( he is booked up well in advance ) plus this gave me the chance to save further.

I had the surgery two days ago and within half an hour of it being over I was back in the car and on my way home ( I live 3 hours away from where I had it done ) it was more expensive than having it done locally but I would have had to have gone under and I wanted to avoid that.

He does at least 10 face and neck lifts per week ( I was one of three that day ) and I researched his work throughly. He is one of the top surgeons in this field so I was happy to go with him due to his experience.

Ive put a photo of me taken in the morning in the hotel before I left for the clinic and one half an hour afterward in the car on the way home.

To say after losing all that weight that I was left with no definable chin or jawline that I was upset would be minimising it, I had tried everything before this and used to avoid photos even my DD's wedding in June. I won’t lie I’m bloody over the moon with the results ( so far so good )

My lower face in the after pics is quite swollen still and it’s painful But the painkillers are doing the job though and I’m excited to be 1/2/3/4 weeks post procedure to see the results properly.

Scars will be along the hairline, there is some puckering in the upper incisions ( all completely normal ) but my profile is transformed. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t easy and I properly 💩 myself when I went into the theatre 😬 but I’m so glad I’ve done it!

I would say if you are very unhappy with your neck or jowls this is a great procedure, I believe that Morpheus8 and facetite can also give very good results too if yours isn’t as bad as mine was, you can pay a lot less than I did if you are happy to go under too.

I shall upload some more photos each week for progression and for anyone that’s considering this to see. I could do with a tummy tuck Ect but I’m not bothered about that as it’s my face that people see, I use Spanx and wonder bras and that works for me 🙂

I see lots of threads on what to do with a saggy neck or jowls, I’m not saying this is what anyone should do in fact I’d advocate trying everything else first, threads can be effective as can Morpheus8 and facetite they just didn’t give me the results I wanted.

I just wanted to post this as I saved for a long time and it wasn’t a quick decision but if you’ve tried everything and it makes you as sad as it made me then I’d say it’s well worth saving for if you can?

@Wagsandclaws this is so helpful thank you! Do you rate Strivectin? I just need a bit of help with skin texture. Thanks

notapizzaeater · 25/09/2021 11:00

You look amazing, are you taking arnica to help with the swelling ?

latte101 · 25/09/2021 11:28

Wow you look incredible!

Taoneusa · 25/09/2021 12:13

You look amazing, Wags. Smile Absolutely brilliant!

Thanks so much for sharing. I do neck tightening facial excercises each day, but oh my word, if I had the $ I would be all over this, copying you.

Wagsandclaws · 25/09/2021 13:18

@doorornottodoor yes I do - I've attached a photo of the one I use - it's pricey but it lasts for ages as it's super rich so a little goes a long way.

@notapizzaeater no I didn't think to - I'm on it now and will order from Amazon that's really good advice thank you

@latte101 thank you so much ( I'll be glad when I feel it though 🤣😬)

@Taoneusa tbh I never tried them, the skin was so loose that I didn't see the point but if you start it early I reckon it's probably quite effective!

Wow. Great results. I'm following with interest. My friend had one done some years back and had the puckering but then it settled.

Wagsandclaws · 25/09/2021 15:36

@OneFootintheRave Amir said it would. I also had puckering from the thread lifts as well so I know it does go ( eventually )

Amazing! Hope you aren’t in too much pain?

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 25/09/2021 18:33

Wow, that looks so incredible. It's made your neck look years and years younger, your jaw too. Hope your recovery isn't too painful, I'm sure you'll be very happy with those results.

Wagsandclaws · 25/09/2021 19:50

Today is so much better, it sort of feels like your hair is being pulled around the edges and I'm getting itchy too which is a good sign!

When the local wore off it was bloody painful on the day I had it done, day two and yesterday were challenging but not the end of the world. I will be glad when the swelling goes down a bit more. I've been lucky with bruising so far, just a little on my left side on the neck behind the ear.

Taoneusa · 26/09/2021 20:02

You are doing so well! Really happy for you. Smile

arrangeyourface · 26/09/2021 20:53

That’s an astonishing result - what a difference! I don’t blame you for being over the moon, you look amazing.

Thank you for posting this, it’s super helpful.

Wagsandclaws · 26/09/2021 21:20

Ha ha I spoke too soon, the bruising is really quite something today 🤣. I'll post a pic on Weds exactly one week post surgery.

On the plus side things are much less painful today and I don't need many painkillers at all. Considering it's only day 4 that's a good result.

Chin and jaw still a bit 'desperate Dan' like but slowly going down. All In All I'm super excited for the next few weeks when I'm in my way to being back to normal.

I did put some makeup on today and felt so much happier and more confident - even with the spectacular bruising!

@Taoneusa and @arrangeyourface thank you both so much Smile

First of all, good on you for losing weight and getting fitter!
I am generally against surgery, but in your case after such loss of fat it is understandable that you want to recover the profile of your face. It will probably be a bit painful for sometime but totally worth it....enjoy!!

Wagsandclaws · 27/09/2021 11:47

@Possiblynotever tbh the usual route after losing rather a lot of weight is a tummy tuck, bingo wings sorted ect but I'm 50 in Jan and won't be in a bikini anytime soon so as my surgeon agreed it was better to address the thing that bothered me the most which was my neck.

I'm not against surgery although I do wince at too much and certainly too young but each unto their own I suppose.

I was really self conscious and it's helped along with the weight loss to restore my confidence. I just wish I'd done it 15 years ago, I probably wouldn't have needed the surgery then 🤷‍♀️

OP, you look amazing. Congrats on your weight loss and thank you for posting this. I always wondered what a facelift would look like (I have not ruled one out in the next decade) and wow, yours is amazing.

I hope you enjoy the results for many years. Keep us posted (I'm really invested in this now!!).

PricklesTheHedgehog · 27/09/2021 13:51

Thanks for sharing OP

Wagsandclaws · 29/09/2021 09:58

Well one week on ... I'm so pleased with the results still. I do have a bit of a double chin but hey, my bmi is 27 and I'm a size 16 so 🤷‍♀️ the idea was to get rid of the loose skin as even under my chin was loose as well as my neck.

I've put up a pic of this time last week and this morning without make up. I did put some make up in for the first time as did the school run this morning and I felt so nice!

Her is the before and after taken this morning - my chin is quite bruised though.

And finally with make up in the car, hopefully you can get a good idea of results in all the different lighting too.

I can't believe I actually have a jawline again 🥳 so far so good, I'm utterly delighted! Please excuse my awful eyebrows, they have been sorely neglected 😬

You look bloody amazing. I am totally doing this, I'm inspired. I have a fat deposit double chin, would they lipo this do you know?

Wagsandclaws · 29/09/2021 10:24

Yes! So he said if I wanted to get rid of the remaining double chin I could have vaser lipo in six months when things have settled down.

But tbh compared to how my neck and chin used to be I'm not that bothered so I probably won't.
