How old do you think I look?

I live abroad and have aged a bit over the last two/three years. Always looked really young for my age when I lived in the U.K., but have started to notice how I'm ageing a lot more around my eyes and 11 lines. DP thinks I have dysmorphia and it's all in my mind. I feel like I'm ready for a bit of Botox, as I've been feeling a lot less confident about my appearance. To settle the argument, please tell me how old you think I am. Both pics are without filter and one with just mascara, a bit of concealer to hide the dark shadows and eyebrow pencil. The bathroom one is before I had a shower, with just eyebrow pencil.

People saying late 40’s are being ridiculous.

XingMing · 01/09/2021 21:00

@Mollythewally, why is that Stepford? The OP is gorgeous but focusing on looks/age diminishes with age. I am much much older and my looks are of diminishing relevance. As one ages, one discovers that intellect becomes more important.

CostaBlancaChica Good skin care brands won't help you embrace who you are.

TheVanguardSix · 01/09/2021 21:00

38-42?
You have no lines to speak of and you look radiant and healthy. Beautiful, clean, smooth skin. I really would leave well enough alone and keep doing what you’re doing.

Notgood234 · 01/09/2021 21:00

To me you look 40 .

PlanetTeaTime · 01/09/2021 21:01

I would say 41 possibly 42. You're a very pretty lady. I don't think you need botox IMO, you have really nice skin

poolblue · 01/09/2021 21:01

Mid 40's

PlanetTeaTime · 01/09/2021 21:02

Also the people saying late 40s are being ridiculous. Maybe they are aiming high because you said you look young?

bargelights · 01/09/2021 21:02

Between 48 and 53?

ShellfishLove · 01/09/2021 21:03

Absolutely shocked at people saying 40s!! I think mid 30s at most with no need for Botox as you have lovely smooth skin. You’re really beautiful.

CostaBlancaChica I had a very toxic mother who told me I was ugly and fat my whole childhood and have struggled with very low self esteem about how I look my whole life. It's only got worse as I've started ageing, which is probably why I'm on MN asking this kind of stupid question and considering Botox, rather than feeling confident about myself as we all should.

I appreciate your concern, but seeking endless validation will not heal that wound, you will have an endless search of kind words and feeling no better.
Look for ways to heal that motherwound, find ways of self validation that are not tied into your appearance.
Consider why you need to create this thread, because even if you have 200 people telling you that you look like a beautiful 29 year old it won' t help how you feel.

Very wise words and I suppose I've been wrestling with that my whole life. Unfortunately it didn't just tie into looks, she also always told me my grades, job, intelligent etc etc weren't good enough, so finding peace with myself is a lifelong process. I'm very self critical in all areas, but have started to like myself slightly more as I've matured.

I would honestly hold off on the Botox and fillers. Your skin is good but living in a sunnier climate I would focus on skincare and ensuring hair is nourished. You should have a look at Trinny Woodall on Instagram, lots of great skincare advice.

glittereyelash · 01/09/2021 21:04

42 I'd guess. You look fantastic lovely skin.

I was going to guess about 41/42 so I can see I wasn’t far off. You have lovely skin

No, but it's ok to feel good about how you look as well as work on your problems. Or at least it is for me anyway.

Blimey I’ve only read the first page, but I disagree with most posters and I am not usually kind! I reckon under 40 definitely. I’d say 37? Your skin is fab.

HTH1 · 01/09/2021 21:06

I found it difficult to tell your age as you have absolutely no forehead wrinkles (which is pretty unusual for 40s!).

I think skip the Botox as it’s really not good for you and you don’t need it. Being totally honest, although you already look nice just as you are, you would likely look younger if you were to put on a little weight and use a more volumising hair product.

StillWalking · 01/09/2021 21:06

Mid thirties .....

I saw her under eye cream/concealer. Do you know if that's any good? I have dark shadows under my eyes, which are much worse in winter, without a healthy skin tone.

Mid 40’s.

HopingForRainbow2021 · 01/09/2021 21:09

You look amazing OP - I’d have guessed 37.

I have crap hair 😂 It's very fine and wavy/frizzy. I'm pretty lazy with my hair. I just put it up most of the time.

I’m mid 30s and thought you looked younger than me, I was going to say late 20s until you said
