How old do you think I look?

I live abroad and have aged a bit over the last two/three years. Always looked really young for my age when I lived in the U.K., but have started to notice how I'm ageing a lot more around my eyes and 11 lines. DP thinks I have dysmorphia and it's all in my mind. I feel like I'm ready for a bit of Botox, as I've been feeling a lot less confident about my appearance. To settle the argument, please tell me how old you think I am. Both pics are without filter and one with just mascara, a bit of concealer to hide the dark shadows and eyebrow pencil. The bathroom one is before I had a shower, with just eyebrow pencil.

I was about to guess 35-37. You have gorgeous skin! Very clear and smooth. I’ve reached my mid 40s and I’ve developed red patches and ultra sensitivity to everything! I don’t think you need anything done at all.

CostaBlancaChica · 01/09/2021 20:50

@SwearyMaclary

Well that’s me wrong then… I would have guessed you’d already had Botox from the shape of your eyebrows (see Victoria Beckham) and a little filler in your cupid's bow. Good on you though.
My eyebrows are pretty much filled in. I over plucked when I was younger, so it must be how I've drawn them lol.

What's a Cupid's brow?

43

I would guess that you are mid 40s and starting to feel insecure in a world that values women on their looks. Fearing peri-menopause and hoping to stop the clock for a while longer. Your skin is lovely and you look good.

It may be time for you to consider what you are valued for. you have already been beautiful, if so, now is the time to be well-read, clever and well-informed about world politics, current events and your world .

SukiPook · 01/09/2021 20:51

I haven't a clue as I'm bad at judging ages but your skin is smooth and young looking, you haven't got lines (maybe some tiny wee ones that you can see yourself when you look close up, but I can't see). Your eyes are wide open, nothing sagging. You look fresh. No need for botox unless preventively as some do,I have no idea if that works. I'd say 30s. Maybe you're in your early 40s but looking a lot younger. Definitely looking good. To put it in perspective I remember people I know hitting 32 and getting lots of forehead wrinkles, but you have none.

znaika · 01/09/2021 20:52

you're mid forties and have already had botox and lip filler (quite obv)

Whatinthelord · 01/09/2021 20:52

I was going to guess 38. I think you look younger than 43.

I wonder why you’re aiming to stay looking young though. I think you look great and young but even someone as lovely looking as your is going to get loose and wrinkled skin eventually. Might it be better to find a way to embrace it than fight the inevitable?

Having said all that…if it’s important to you then crack on and give botox etc a go. I wouldn’t judge anyone who did it.

UnicornHo · 01/09/2021 20:52

I think you're slightly older than me but look better. I'd say about 42. You have lovely skin!

I would have guessed 30s OP. You look beautiful and way younger than me (I'm 45). Don't get Botox.

DiscoDown21 · 01/09/2021 20:54

The problem with these posts is some people come out with ridiculous ages just cos they can and some are on the opposite very kind.

It doesn’t matter how old you are it’s how comfortable you are in your skin. You don’t look like you need Botox either. For reference I’m early 40s and I’ve really noticed a change in my aging. Especially as I’ve always looked young ( thanks chubby cheeks). It’s not unusual. Maybe start with a new skincare regime first? There are some fab advice posts on skincare on here.

Some people purposely guess way over on these threads to make you feel bad.
I think you look like a very well taken care of 40, your skin looks great. I think the eyebrows are ageing you and look a bit dated in the shape, the are too far apart, pencil them further in a bit and they’ll look great. I don’t think you look like you need Botox at all but maybe a bit of moisture with a nourishing oil on the skin, looks slightly dehydrated or dry

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 01/09/2021 20:54

Early 40s

maryd84 · 01/09/2021 20:55

In the first photo you look early 40's. You look older in the second photo.

CostaBlancaChica
I had a very toxic mother who told me I was ugly and fat my whole childhood and have struggled with very low self esteem about how I look my whole life. It's only got worse as I've started ageing, which is probably why I'm on MN asking this kind of stupid question and considering Botox, rather than feeling confident about myself as we all should.

I appreciate your concern, but seeking endless validation will not heal that wound, you will have an endless search of kind words and feeling no better.
Look for ways to heal that motherwound, find ways of self validation that are not tied into your appearance.
Consider why you need to create this thread, because even if you have 200 people telling you that you look like a beautiful 29 year old it won' t help how you feel.

Bbq1 · 01/09/2021 20:56

Genuinely - about 50.

furbabymama87 · 01/09/2021 20:56

I think a young looking 45.

MilduraS · 01/09/2021 20:57

I would have said a few years either side of 40. You look like a young 43!

BeckyWithTheGoodHair5629456 · 01/09/2021 20:57

You look younger than me and I'm 37! I don't think you need Botox your skin is fab and I can't even see any wrinkles. And I say this as someone who has Botox on my 11's!

I've noticed it in the last couple of years. In the skin on my body too. Living in Spain and spending the summer make up free practically and in swimwear doesn't make it any easier. I've struggled with confidence issues my whole life in many areas, and I guess I need to learn to embrace who I am. It's often easier said than done. Can you recommend any good skin care brands?
