How old do you think I look?

I live abroad and have aged a bit over the last two/three years. Always looked really young for my age when I lived in the U.K., but have started to notice how I'm ageing a lot more around my eyes and 11 lines. DP thinks I have dysmorphia and it's all in my mind. I feel like I'm ready for a bit of Botox, as I've been feeling a lot less confident about my appearance. To settle the argument, please tell me how old you think I am. Both pics are without filter and one with just mascara, a bit of concealer to hide the dark shadows and eyebrow pencil. The bathroom one is before I had a shower, with just eyebrow pencil.

@CostaBlancaChica

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think I'll probably leave the Botox, and try what some posters have suggested re skincare and definitely the facial exercises. I have followed a woman on Instagram who does that as well as face massage, but I'm a bit lazy and have done it fairly infrequently, so will find the time to do that.
Crikey OP!! You think they’re 11 lines?!!!.... I’m 37 and have awful one, along with huge open pores!! A mixture of working out doors for 25yr and genetics!

I thought you were early to mid 40s.
You have decent skin. Your forehead is incredibly smooth which like others made me think that you'd already had botox.
Probably look great with make up and nice clothes, those passport style photos never do anyone any favours although yours is pretty good anyway.
I think the suggestions that you are early 30s suggest that many probably younger people think that most 40 plus year olds are like wizened old prunes and look like Bet Lynch or Pat Butcher. Fact is they aren't and don't Shock.

Bluntness100 · 02/09/2021 09:18

Being honest I think you look your age, I’d have said early forties. As said though I think you’re extremely lucky and can’t see why you are thinking of Botox as your forehead is startlingly smooth, and I assumed immediately before reading your initial post you’d had some quite significant Botox. Maybe a photo with your eyebrows raised would help as this would show the lines, and show people what you’re looking at.

A photo with a susprinsly smooth forehead is difficult to appraise. And of course unless you never use your face, that’s not how you look as you will constantly move.

The thing is most of us look our age. I still feel 25 and think I look it but objectively I probably look my age. We mostly look younger than our parents generation at the same age because back then people would reach a certain age and dress and present themselves differently. I am 40 but still wear the same clothes I did in my twenties and the same hair and make up. My mum at 40 had a much older style than I have

ttcissoboring · 02/09/2021 09:33

Yay I guessed spot on!!

Bouledeneige · 02/09/2021 09:41

50

Keke94LND · 02/09/2021 09:43

I'm rubbish at guessing ages but I'd go with 42

Diverami · 02/09/2021 10:17

The amount spent on botox (which, I understand has to be renewed every few months) could better be spent on lovely nutritious foods and on some supplements. Read about hyaluronic acid - a plumping chemical which occurs naturally in the body. At 80, I am also going to pursue marine collagen - when I can find more about it.

There's no such thing as huge open pores. Pores cannot open and close, they are the size they are. Your skin looks like skin, as it should. The overly smooth look can only really be achieved by altering photos. Please be kinder to yourself, your skin is absolutely normal.

Its really difficult to tell with these sort of pictures because you are holding your face in such a way that no wrinkles or sagging (if you have them) would be visible. Your chin is up tilted in one and you have a slight smile in the other, both of which would lift up any sagging without the wrinkling effect you might get from a full smile. Best way to assess aging is a picture with a full natural smile and then one with a relaxed expressionless face, shot straight on or from slightly below, and taken in strong day light. From the pictures tho
You could be anywhere between 35 (with minimal aging) and late 40s (with aging not visible in the pictures) because you just can't tell.

Housewife2010 · 02/09/2021 11:40

Around my age. 50?

Thirtyysomething · 02/09/2021 12:38

I think you look your age. I would have guessed similar. Your skin is lovely and I don’t think you need Botox. It only makes people look younger when there are deep set lines, which you don’t have.

Wishingwell75 · 02/09/2021 12:55

I was going to guess 29 - 40. I think you are one of those people who are very difficult to place - age wise.
But definitely younger than 43! You have gorgeous skin OP. Like pp have mentioned a photo taken by someone else, where you are 'caught in the moment' so to speak, would probably give a more accurate idea. You are obviously very slim so you may feel your face looses fat in the next ten years or so but I promise you that 99%of people will see a young beautiful woman when they look at you.
The thing is, that doesn't mean anything if it doesn't match up to what you're telling yourself.
That's what needs tweaking!😁
Having said that I'm all for happiness and if you want to have Botox - baby Botox though - why not? As long as you already prioritise a consistent skincare routine and SPF 30- 50 365 days a year (maybe a good retinol/retinoid if you want to go down that route. Skin &Me is very good and stress free) then by all means go for it. Xx

Totally agree about nutrition, and collagen is great, for hair and joints too. Well worth a go. But for anyone bothered about lines and wrinkles, no diet, cream or supplements are going to do what botox can.
WingingItSince1973 · 02/09/2021 13:40

@HTH1

I found it difficult to tell your age as you have absolutely no forehead wrinkles (which is pretty unusual for 40s!).

I think skip the Botox as it’s really not good for you and you don’t need it. Being totally honest, although you already look nice just as you are, you would likely look younger if you were to put on a little weight and use a more volumising hair product.

I have no forehead wrinkles and I'm 48. I wish the rest of my face was the same 🤣 @HTH1
thisplaceisweird · 02/09/2021 14:47

Botox rarely makes people look younger, there's just a shiny puffy look that everyone has now.

KingofQueens · 02/09/2021 20:12

I would gave said 35. For 43 you look amazing - no lines on your forehead, no sun damage, smooth glowing skin. You must be very good with sleep, hydration, and SPF.
If you are genuinely feeling negative about the way you look, I think you should look at your emotional wellbeing rather than botox and fillers, as I would be concerned about dysmorphic tendencies - what you are worried about is very different to the reality of your very youthful, pretty, and healthy appearance.

Unsure1983 · 03/09/2021 03:33

Youre beautiful

ufucoffee · 03/09/2021 03:42

45-47 I'd say

SnarkyMilarky · 03/09/2021 04:26

I would have said late thirties- early forties , like 38/39, possibly up to 42. You look like you have a good skincare regimen.
