How old do you think I look?

I live abroad and have aged a bit over the last two/three years. Always looked really young for my age when I lived in the U.K., but have started to notice how I'm ageing a lot more around my eyes and 11 lines. DP thinks I have dysmorphia and it's all in my mind. I feel like I'm ready for a bit of Botox, as I've been feeling a lot less confident about my appearance. To settle the argument, please tell me how old you think I am. Both pics are without filter and one with just mascara, a bit of concealer to hide the dark shadows and eyebrow pencil. The bathroom one is before I had a shower, with just eyebrow pencil.

I think you look your age (and great). I honestly think Botox would be a mistake. You already have a fairly flat wrinkless look, you would tip into “very Botox” easily. Get some counselling instead and build confidence.

Moooncake · 02/09/2021 01:09

I was thinking late 30s. You remind me of the actress who played Lori in the walking dead Smile (haven't read the thread so apologies if that resemblance has been mentioned haha)

blisstwins · 02/09/2021 01:19

36

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 02/09/2021 01:27

I think you look like the actress Amelia Bullmore.

Seriously, what is going on in this world where it has become normal to share photos of you looking your age and everyone gets to be mean? What’s wrong with looking your age?!

WithLoveFromMyselfToYourself · 02/09/2021 01:53

42

StarryNightSparkles · 02/09/2021 01:57

I would guess 35 and you really don't need botox or anything like that. I think you look fab.

Time40 · 02/09/2021 02:03

You are correct...about the second pic. I'm 43, or will be in two weeks

I was going to say something around that age, but I cheated and read your posts. I think you look really fab, OP. You don't need any fillers or work of any kind.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 02/09/2021 02:46

I would have said mid 40s so I wasn't far off (having read all your posts).

I'm no fan of beauty procedures, but I can understand why you would consider them given your background mother issues.
However, I would also try other things first (if you haven't already) including ensuring you drink enough water and are getting enough vitamin C in your diet (other vitamins and minerals too, but vit C is the one you need specifically for collagen and healthy skin)

There are also facial muscle exercises you can do to combat areas - things like increasing your cheek apples, reducing lines and bags under your eyes, reducing the under jaw sag etc.
I first heard about them some 30 years ago, when a woman aged 70+ was interviewed on the tv, and she only looked about 50. I use them [when I remember[ - they work for me, although now I'm in my 50s they won't stop the progression of time forever - but they do reduce the effects, IMO. Worth a go, anyway.

Late forties.

1forAll74 · 02/09/2021 03:05

About 40, but definitely no botox needed. I just don't know, why people would have unnatural stuff injected into their skin for cosmetic reasons..

But anyway, your skin looks smooth and clear and wrinkle free.

LineofFruity · 02/09/2021 03:11

I was going to guess same age as me - 44.

I’ve been considering Botox and it sounds like we had similar mothers. It’s hard to overcome years of being told how you look is everything and that you fail on that front. I’ve rejected Botox for now but not fully ruled it out.

FlourPowered · 02/09/2021 03:48

I thought, in your 30s

Monty27 · 02/09/2021 04:06

Your eyebrows age you they look so unnatural.
Tone them down and I'd give you 32 😃

frenchfancy81 · 02/09/2021 04:30

44

Bluntness100 · 02/09/2021 06:28

Hmm, I’d also have assumed you’ve had some signficant Botox and fillers, your forehead is line free and stretched, with that shine, which is a sure give away, you must be the first person I’ve ever seen in their forties with no lines on their forehead naturally. Good for you. That’s fairly unique.

FabulousIAm · 02/09/2021 06:53

People saying late 40's are talking through their hat - you look mid thirties. Would never have thought you were 43.

chickychicchic · 02/09/2021 07:10

You look fab I am no good at ageing but you have lovely skin x

PropertyFlipper · 02/09/2021 07:13

Late fifties

Well we all see things differently don't we?

I can't believe that anyone thinks Op is in her 30s.

I think you look fabulous for your age Op.

I agree with others that you look as if you have had botox, so not sure what good it would do iyswim.

gunnersgold · 02/09/2021 07:43

You have great skin , I think a fringe would really suit you and make you look younger ( if that's what you want) .

I definitely haven't had Botox!! I've zoomed in on a pic from a few weeks ago after I went hiking where you can see my 11 lines quite clearly and also some fine lines on my forehead. They are more pronounced when I've been exercising or squinting from the sun. My skin is shiny, because since moving here I've got oily skin. Also probably from sweating as it's gets up to 40 degrees where I am!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think I'll probably leave the Botox, and try what some posters have suggested re skincare and definitely the facial exercises. I have followed a woman on Instagram who does that as well as face massage, but I'm a bit lazy and have done it fairly infrequently, so will find the time to do that.
