It looks like a straight forward enough style. I would see if I could get a pattern online and ask around for a good knitter (nearest wool shop may now of someone or knitting group in library ) maybe able to help.

Great idea, but please be aware that if a knitter charged for their time, as well as materials, this jumper would cost considerably more than £185. A knitter may do it for the fun of it, but handknit garments are massively undervalued due to the low cost of mass produced items.

It is a lovely jumper but in my house the moths would get it so it's a no from me. I'd love a fishermans rib jumper in cotton, I had a lovely blue one which I wore for ten years before it disintegrated.

Haven't read the whole thread but has anyone pointed out that the cuffs aren't closely ribbed at the wrists, so your lower arms and hands will be colder while your torso will be hotter because of the high neck? And the loose cuffs will hang down and get in the way, eg when washing your hands.

Wow, I didn't even notice that the thread is a year old. No wonder most of the links didn't work as they are out of date!! I wonder if the OP bought the jumper, it was very nice.

That would be so expensive though - more than buying the jumper unless OP knows someone willing to work for free!
