I am going on a DATE. I am 50, newly single and I need help to get ready!!!

It’s next Sunday, we are going around a gallery/stately home type place. I have never met him in real life and my confidence has just ebbed away!

I’m 5’8” very too heavy size 18 and blonde. I have good hair, a nice face and then it starts to go meh the further down I go.Blush

So far I think I’ve settled on a maxi dress with a small sleeve, bit of cleavage at the front, but not sure about footwear. Or anything else for that matter. I’ve got one good hoik-em-up bra.

Help. I really don’t want him to be horrified and leg it. I mean, I know he’s a nice person and that’s unlikely but, well, you know...

What a lovely update. Can I hear bells ringing?! 😀

Lovely!

Love this!!

Ah sounds like you're having the time of your life, lovely update. Did you get the 'not living together commitment' ring?

Shuffleuplove · 24/09/2024 23:45

No but it has been mentioned by him much more than me!

it would be a Nice Thing but it’s not that much of a big deal, the longer we go on. What I really like about him is that he is exactly how he appears. There are no fronts or pretend bits. Dont get me wrong - he snores like a tractor, and insists on reverse parking everywhere so he’s far from Overall Perfection. Also he has some weird digestive issue which makes him quite gassy and he launches into highly descriptive poo reenactments if left unchecked.
But I’m still daily reminded how incredibly fortunate we are to have found each other.

Brilliant update - I remember this thread!

Hello all! A little update from me!

All is well. We are very happy and companionable and close. We chat and laugh and his cooking (and everything else!) is still amazing! He still has his own place, I have mine and we also travel quite a bit too. We realised that our children won’t be buying their own places any time soon so the tentative plan was to buy somewhere for ourselves - a weekend bolthole/holiday let maybe and leave the kids in situ.

And we have! We exchanged on a teeny weeny cute cottage with a long garden, overlooking fields. It’s in a village about half an hour away, the local pub is excellent and there’s plenty going on. And it will be all ours! I’m soooo excited about it!

Still smiling!

And he still has the curls! They are a tiny bit more silver. I’m playing with them now as he sleeps. ❤
