Oh dear God help me. My first date in 18 years!

I am going on a DATE. I am 50, newly single and I need help to get ready!!!

It’s next Sunday, we are going around a gallery/stately home type place. I have never met him in real life and my confidence has just ebbed away!

I’m 5’8” very too heavy size 18 and blonde. I have good hair, a nice face and then it starts to go meh the further down I go.

So far I think I’ve settled on a maxi dress with a small sleeve, bit of cleavage at the front, but not sure about footwear. Or anything else for that matter. I’ve got one good hoik-em-up bra.

Help. I really don’t want him to be horrified and leg it. I mean, I know he’s a nice person and that’s unlikely but, well, you know...

That snog must have been pretty bloomin awesome - well jel. Can't remember my last decent snog! Could have been 20 yrs ago - or more!!

Sensible head says enjoy your feels but try to have sensible take-your-time-enjoy every-moment-without-losing- some sort of persective. Easier said than done. Welcome to slap me with a wet fish.

You are on an adrenaline high from being new to old. It is all fun and exciting at the moment and brings back memories of my early days on there.
I have never in all my time met anyone I wanted to kiss and I have been through too many to mention. I have had a couple of longer term relationships come of it, but no one I wanted to instantly jump the bones of :)
As I have got older I seem to attract 'potato heads' so I am agog where I assume you are finding attractive over 50 year old men because there are non within 75 miles of me.

To be fair though, I spent a decade on OLD, and 19/20 dates I'd gouge my own eyes out rather than see them naked. So if OP has found someone she fancies, that's pretty exciting.

Mouldygrape, not being miserable at all, but as DoubleTweenQueen says just trying to remind the OP to be a litttle cautious with her heart.
I think she said she was recently out of a long term relationship and I think many of us have been there. I know I came out of my marriage and did old far too soon as a distraction. Ended up getting hurt and it was doubly painful as clearly I was not over my marriage break up either.
Moving on and I promise not to try and dampen the OP'S excitement again.

Day : black jeans, wellies, teal layered top, good bra. Earrings.

Aagh!!! The first chance l have had to check back since before the date and I was holding my breath! But there was absolutely no need! I am so delighted for you OP!
For me, it's the fact he rang you afterwards and the curls!

Well, we both appear to have tested positive for Feels, on a lateral flow. PCR next weekend, when we will be staying away in an undisclosed location.

My body has not seen sunlight for half a decade. Can someone write me a list of what grooming needs to be done beforehand?

(And I’ll paraphrase that to “do I really need to wax my bumhole?”)
