My final sale items arrived the khaki Bleu De Chauffe Java Bag and the Moss green silk scarf, both lovely and keeping. The bag is smaller than I expected but gorgeous quality and is big enough for the essentials that's it now till new season 😉

I bought the tiered hemp dress in a last hurrah. I suspect I will look like I should be sitting on a toilet cistern with a loo roll jammed over my legs though, and it will go straight back. The reviewer who said it was the same fabric as the gabi trousers convinced me to try it.

Ive got it in the Slate.
Its lovely but a heavier weight so Ive put it aside for Autumn/ Winter.
I do think you need to be tall to carry it off .

Reporting in from a reccy of the Islington rl store.
I tried on both of the new stock denim dresses. The one the stylist wore in the recent styling session was v nice - a good weight dark denim. I tried usual Toast size and it was oversized but in a good way. I wasn't convinced about the neckline on me - but may have a think about a small alteration.

The other denim workwear dress I wasn't so keen on. Neckline too low on me so would need to layer. Could definitely do duty as a coat unbuttoned. Has a back slit which I also never like on me. A bit straight up and down...

I also tried the navy poplin dress that is shown on the website unbuttoned as a coat. Lovely! Also oversized in a good way in my usual Toast size. Very nice fabric and nice details - the pockets are fab. I bought it and am wearing right now!

Ive also got the one in slate. Definitely heavier in weight. Too heavy for summer.

That’s hopeful though as I don’t do bare shoulders - burn far too easily - so I wanted it more as an autumn pinafore.

Same
It was very odd worn in the IGTV as a summer dress and looked wierd plus if it was warm enough for bare shoulders the weight was too warm but it works beautifully as a pinafore.

Checking in to the thread for the first time.

I’ve been fairly restrained in the sale, I’ve ordered the Mila meadow print dress, the wool and cashmere wrap scarf (perfect for our UK beach holidays!) and the Judith raffia bag (this has been a slow burner on my wish list since last summer, especially as I’ve rebooted all my bag options since the start of the pandemic, and I now only carry my bank cards, plus phone. No purse as no need for cash.)

What colour did you buy in the scarf @SmaugMum. I think it’s the best thing I ever bought. The Mira jumper is the same feel.

That poplin dress@NoCureForLove how oversized is it. I thought it looked useful as a coat type thing.

@Laska2Meryls - if you fancy one of the bleu de chauffe bags, they have their own sale on right now - prices lower than Toast. I bought mine from them

I am still searching for a jacket, and my order of three arrived today.
The hemp denim one is a bit long and looks more like a shirt than a jacket. I really like it, but it’s not what I’m after. So that’s going back.
The dogtooth one is a lovely fit, but a bit tight across the upper arms (always an issue!), so I can’t fit a jumper under it comfortably. So that’s a return too.
The cropped wool jacket is interesting though. Kind of like a bolero, with raglan sleeves that are kind of loose around the shoulders. It’s not like anything I have tried before. It has no fastening and no pockets though (the horror!!). I need to try it on with some more things, but I might just keep it.

I did look Faustina but am a bit worried post Brexit about buying from EU sites .. When did you order yours? Did you have to pay customs or massive postage charges

I may need something to wear to a last minute family christening if it goes ahead (the child will be in school before it does at this rate!). I have nothing suitable, being a very casual type. I am looking at the lattice print dress. Anyone tried it, or last year’s version (I think it was a navy pattern)? How does it fit? What size should I go for if I am usually a 10 in tops/dresses from Toast but have had to go up to a 12 in a couple of shirt dresses? And what are the armholes like - is there much side bra on show?
Also Kitty clogs (heeled ones, either with the strap or the mules)…are they very narrow?
Thanks!

@Countmeout, it was actually the wool/cashmere check wrap scarf in periwinkle and cadmium (£50 instead of £155). I stocked up on (several) pure cashmere wrap scarves in the JL New Year sale, and I have them in burnt orange, berry and silver- grey. They were an absolute bargain at about 70% of the JL full retail price. I have worn my scarves right up until May this year and I will be packing them for our holidays (🤞) to Pembrokeshire and Northumberland!

I agree about the Mira jumper; I have it in the Ochre and I will be thrilled if the scarf I have ordered is as soft, comfortable and tactile.

Thanks @SmaugMum. Fingers crossed for the scarf. I put mine away for the summer although I could have done with it a few times.

I have that style of dress @ScottishMouse from last year , in fact 2 might be the year before. One has yellow triangles and the other is darker navy with purple smaller triangles. I bought a 10 in it. I usually buy a 10 in pull on dresses and size up to a twelve in button front ones. I order10 and 12 in the yellow triangles one but the 12 was too gappy at the arms.

@Laska2Meryls - it might be worth asking them. I bought it post Brexit, but pre this January and they waived the charges. They had a live chat thing

The kitty clogs with heels are supposed to be very narrow @ScottishMouse - I was thinking of buying some but decided against because of that

Thanks @faustina. Yes, having read all the reviews I think I will not bother ordering them. I do not have narrow feet, so they would likely not fit sadly.
Have tried the wool cropped jacket on again with some more things from my wardrobe, and I think sadly it is going back too. At £155, it is still pretty pricey in the sale, and I think I would be better saving that money to put towards something nicer that appears in the autumn.
Speaking of which, I am very taken by the jerkin in the new collection. I’m not mad about the print or colour though. I wonder will they do it in another fabric later in the season…

@Templetreebloom and @neveradullmoment99 I would be really grateful for any sizing info you could share about the tiered dress please as it’s wry tempting as an A/W buy to wear with a long sleeves t-shirt underneath. I’m usually a Toast dress size 12 but have quite big boobs so not sure.

@SmaugMum ah yes re: the JL cashmere wraps! I also bought the burnt orange one at 70% off and it’s absolutely gorgeous 😊
