You're not going to believe this, I went shopping to especially get the original darley satchel and they didn't have stock.

Took the other one back and waiting for it to come back in stock...

So, I got the matching leather credit card slip - which has a handy zip compartment for coins - it's a different gold - does that matter???

Oh that looks lovely! Better than the picture on the website. Does it feel lovely and soft? I don't think the different gold matters but only you will know if it bugs you.

@permaconfused it’s gorgeous! The unmatched hardware wouldn’t bother me too much (although what a silly design decision - keep it consistent for goodness sake!) but if it really bothers you then my suggestion would be to see if there’s a contrasting colour card holder that has the same hardware colour.

None of the card holders are in the same grain without a zip (which is a solution). None of the card holders have the same hardware....

Maybe I should just see how I get in without a purse in it / there's slots for cards and I rarely have cash - coins or otherwise.....

I’d stick with that one then - I think it’s within acceptable differentiation.

Yes that’s also a perfectly good option.

It's warm - the burgundy lining and edging gives it a more wintry feel, but I'm ok with that (it was one of the throngs putting me off before but I've compromised 😀)

I'm just wondering if I should return the purse - I'm in 2 minds - it might be pointless - cash can go in the slots inside.....

I do like I purse tho - it's just that brass hardware keeps putting me off.....

I’d return it tbh. It’s brass not gold which wasn’t obvious from the photo but would make a difference to me and I think you’ll just not ever be able to love it, and as you’ve said you don’t actually need it as the bag has card slots.

I’ve not seen the burgundy edging, could you post a photo?

Will do - also the plain credit card holder in charcoal is in heavy grain and the bag is small classic grain, but I don't think they look that different? Although they look slightly different colour? I need to check in store....

I still think I personally would leave the card holder all together since there are slots in the bag - effectively they’ve designed it as a larger wallet on chain which makes sense given the size of the bag. I suppose thinking about it that’s why none of the purses/card holders match, as they’re not actually intended to go with the bag.

Beautiful bag. Agree about returning the credit card holder. It's a lot of money if you're not completely in love with it.

No bag for me this time, but I’ve bought a little set of Aspinal SLGs.

I returned the card holder (bought from John Lewis - so got money back!) So happy with my bag - I used it yesterday and got more in it than I thought.
