Ok - lots of good advice / I'm buying one of them today, I just can't decide which one.

Thanks for the replies.

I am very lucky to have been given loads of vouchers for mulberry so has to be one of them (the £950 I have to add my own money to) I've waited since last year to buy and I definitely want a grey one

The first Darley- gorgeous!! Nice size and great for every day. I have a Bayswater and they are lovely but if you don't need to add money to your vouchers then that's always a bonus!

winteroversummer · 03/07/2021 13:13

I can't believe how many people are saying the bags aren't nice... they're all gorgeous and I love the grey colour. Great for all seasons. And they do not look cheap!

BanningTheWordNaice · 03/07/2021 13:14

The first darley is my favourite, I have a Bayswater satchel from the first time they were released and I’ve spent the last 10 years constantly redying it!

ExhaustedFlamingo · 03/07/2021 13:14

You honestly couldn’t pay me to carry any of them. I don’t like them at all. Think it’s the colour - it’s awful….

Sorry OP. I hope you settle on one.

RunnerDown · 03/07/2021 13:21

I think the grey colour is beautiful and love the first darley.

They look better in the flesh rather than on photos.
It’s so difficult on style and beauty because people have very definite opinions. I remember a while ago every second person cooing over a site that sold 50 s style dresses( ? Lindybop) I thought they were truly awful. So stick to your own intuition. And go on the Mulberry Facebook selling pages where there are thousands of women who adore Mulberry .

Seesawmummadaw · 03/07/2021 13:22

I like the small Bayswater personally. I adore the colour.

MouldyPotato · 03/07/2021 13:25

The second one is nicest out of the 3 you've posted. Which one would you be able to use the most? For me I'd have the 2nd style and take it everywhere with me but you might prefer a smaller one for special occasions

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/07/2021 13:30

Love the large grey Bayswater, it’s a classic. Don’t like the Darley ones at all, just not for me.

MrsFin · 03/07/2021 13:36

Are you very old? They aren't bags for the under 65s.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 03/07/2021 13:38

The second one is more useful and looks less like a Primark knockoff.

The third one is a dead ringer for my 84 year old mother's market stall handbags that she's been buying for about 40 years.

Do Mulberry not do anything other than bags?

Tombero · 03/07/2021 13:40

I’d go for the Bayswater

Ninkanink · 03/07/2021 13:47

I just commented on your other thread too...

I like all three in different ways.

The mini Darley shoulder bag is on my list, not in that colour though.

Is there a reason why you must spend the vouchers now? If you’re having such a difficult time choosing it’s generally a sign that you don’t love any of the options, which means they’re not worth it. If you don’t love them or they don’t suit the function you need them for (as in being too small to use day-to-day when that’s what you’re looking for) then it’s just a waste of money.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 03/07/2021 13:49

I like the first one

Hallyup6 · 03/07/2021 13:55

Obscene waste of money and all fairly hideous.

Stealth brag much?

Ninkanink · 03/07/2021 13:59

If you don’t love bags and think they’re an obscene waste of money then the thread isn’t for you. Who made you the arbiter of what women can and can’t love and spend their money on?? Isn’t there a bench somewhere that you should be sitting on?

Fucks me right off when people think they have a right to piss on a woman’s chips because she makes different purchasing choices.

winteroversummer · 03/07/2021 14:01

@NeverDropYourMoonCup must be a nice market stall, then!

winteroversummer · 03/07/2021 14:02

@Ninkanink Exactly this,

So many grumpy rude people about

Floralnomad · 03/07/2021 14:03

If I was going to go for one of those 3 it would be the third one , can I ask why you are set on grey , it’s very drab , particularly in the heavy grain .

Zilla1 · 03/07/2021 14:05

OP, would you say both the shape/style and colour of any of them are either on-trend or timeless? If neither, why are you buying something for the wardrobe?

Ninkanink · 03/07/2021 14:08

Just had a thought, @permaconfused. What styles of clothing, especially jacket/coat and shoes, do you tend to wear? Because it might be that the bags aren’t actually working well with your wardrobe which might be why you’re feeling they’re not quite right.

Perhaps just try on everything in the shop that falls within the functionality you’re looking for, whether you think you like each style or not, and you might come upon something that is just right that you hadn’t previously considered.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 03/07/2021 14:11

To spend that much money on something you should really love it.

The fact you're having to ask for help shows you don't.

If they had a New Look label on them would you even be considering them at all?

Ninkanink · 03/07/2021 14:17

Yes it’s really important to consider this.

If the vouchers are running out of time then it makes sense that you need to spend them...But I would think really carefully about what you actually want, what actually suits you, what you love and don’t love and why you’re looking at certain bags as opposed to others.

If you wouldn’t pay £25-50 for it on the high street then it isn’t the right bag!

SirGawain · 03/07/2021 14:25

When you’ve finished stealth boasting OP, I’d pop into Primark.

PrimeraVez · 03/07/2021 14:30

Ignore the ‘what’s wrong with Primark’ brigade. Wouldn’t life be boring if we all liked the same things and had the same opinions.

Are you really set on the grey colour? I like all of the styles but in my opinion the grey drags them down to ‘meh’ levels. I have a small mulberry that I bought yonks ago in a bright coral and whilst admittedly I use it quite infrequently, it always helps brighten up my look when I bring it out.
