That is adopted in just about every photo I see? Or even just standing on tiptoes if in bear feet? I find it irrationally annoying.

And no it doesn't affect me in any way I'm just having a (light-hearted) moan!

Ha, I've danced all my life, from ballet to line to burlesque,band I do this instinctively if asked to pose! I'm also mid thirties so possibly look like a twat, but don't care

Yes, everyone from tappers to the jazz people do this!

Though I have more of a ballet background where we used to use attitude a terre as our default pose.

@AnnieSnap I don't know what you mean. DH wanted to take my photo yesterday and I had to say 'hang on til I haul myself up onto the front door frame in a completely natural pose before you do'. I have an appointment with a chiropractor tomorrow to sort out my back. 😆

It really annoys me. I can't do it. I always stand up straight in photos. Whoever is beside me kind of stands sideways, so I always look wider and heavier than them.

I was looking at a wedding photo which my colleagues and I attended. Every one of them had this pose except me. I looked wider in the photo even though I am 10.5 stone so not massive. Also no one will show me how to do this pose. If asked, my sister/colleagues pretend they are not posing at all and pretend they don't know what I am talking about. It is the sneakiness of trying to look thinner/better than others. These people are 49s so not teenagers.

If you want to really be annoyed with model poses, simply browse the Zara website/app. Half the time you can't even see most of the item being 'modelled' because the pose and styling are so utterly ridiculous.

Oh I love these stupid poses They’re so ridiculous. I always wonder what “motivation” the photo shoot director is giving the models, especially for Zara.

The models don't even bother me so much, although they're ridiculous, they're directed by someone even more ridiculous. It's when you see Sandra and Claire from across the road posting photos of themselves in their back garden with these stupid poses it gets on my bloody nerves.
