Women you think are ageing beautifully with no intervention

Hi,

So I was watching This Morning and Sharon Marshall was on and I was thinking she must be 50 now and looks absolutely incredible. Not that you can't look incredible at 50, whether you actually look 50 or 30!! This isn't age bashing ATALL, but I just thought how refreshing it was to see a woman looking so good, with no hint of the pillow face, which more and more women seem to be getting these days to fight off the wrinkles.

I'm not anti botox, fillers etc, but I do worry that so many women feel pressure to have this look, rather than daring to grow old/er naturally, because that's what we see as the norm.

Anyway, this isn't an anti anything thread, I just wondered who you thought was growing older particularly beautifully, naturally.

What's the story with Joan Collins.....I saw pictures of her lately and had to double check her age....in her 80s!! She obviously has had work done but she doesn't look puffed up or stretched! I know she has good bone structure, wears wigs, sunglasses and hats so maybe that's her secret!

I think people like Joan Collins and Jane Fonda looks good (even though they've clearly had work done) is because they've gone the old fashioned facelift route rather than choosing lots of fillers.

She's 80 odd but has such a very youthful air. Not conventionally beautiful but characterful features.

I’m not sure I could pick out anyone in the media with certainty and say they hadn’t work done. But irl, I’ve noticed that women who didn’t look great in their late 40s/50s can look stunning in their 60s and onwards. They look so much better than women of a similar age in the media who have had work done in their middle years. I’m gambling on that anyway!

Iris Apfel. I would have said Helen McCrory. Has Helen Mirren had any work done? She always looks fantastic.

People who look their age, having lived. Smooth skin is not everything, why are wrinkles a no no? Most mentioned here have been sucked and puffed and tucked. As much as we complain about anorexic models, why do we accept we need to have the skin of a 40 year old when we're 70?

Sorry, sorry I know this is not in the spirit of this thread, but have you ever seen the thighs of an 80 year old? That's what gravity does, no way you age like Jane Fonda naturally.

Quite random but I saw a (reasonably) recent pic of Floella Benjamin and she looked amazing. Shes in her 70s bit shes barely aged since I saw her on playschool!
Also Prue Leith. She seemed to get a new stylist in the last 10 years, which made her look much more funky. If you look at pics of her in the 90s she looks much older just from the clothes/glasses.

Courtney Cox had the most beautiful face, with exquisite bone structure. She just looks puffy now, her face has no edge. Wrinkle free but at what cost. I understand why she went down that route, women in the public eye are just not allowed to age

I love sheila Hancock but it used to annoy me on gogglebox that she put her feet on the sofa with shoes on! 🤣
Of course she can do what she likes in her own house but it sort of jarred a bit! (I'm not a "shoes off at the door" type of person but even I wouldnt permit shoes on the sofa!)

Yes obviously Melanie has the best of work done but my God she is stunning in her fifties. She looks a natural beauty even if she isn’t.

To be fair, that was from four years ago so she was only 58 but yes, still stunning.

No idea about any work done, but Mary Nightingale the newsreader is beautiful at 58. And also, Gwyneth looks great- SM might have lost its shit about her dubious use of sunscreen but fair fucks, she looks well on it. Yes she's got lines, but she glows.

Omg, yes Mary Nightingale looks gorgeous these days! Is it the longer less styled hair?
