Women you think are ageing beautifully with no intervention

Hi,

So I was watching This Morning and Sharon Marshall was on and I was thinking she must be 50 now and looks absolutely incredible. Not that you can't look incredible at 50, whether you actually look 50 or 30!! This isn't age bashing ATALL, but I just thought how refreshing it was to see a woman looking so good, with no hint of the pillow face, which more and more women seem to be getting these days to fight off the wrinkles.

I'm not anti botox, fillers etc, but I do worry that so many women feel pressure to have this look, rather than daring to grow old/er naturally, because that's what we see as the norm.

Anyway, this isn't an anti anything thread, I just wondered who you thought was growing older particularly beautifully, naturally.

Jo Brand.

I’ve always thought Jo Brand was beautiful (something about the way her face moves) and was absolutely ripped to shreds on here once for saying so.

Anyway, her.

Tess Daly! She still looks stunning, her daughters are beautiful too. I wonder what her mum looks like, could be good genes? I had Botox done a few years, only a little and it was very very good, I looked really refreshed and I'd say it took at least 3 /4 years off. Sadly, it wore off after 6 weeks and I can't afford that but I would do it again and again otherwise.

CoronaCurls · 01/06/2021 15:22

Carey Mulligan (Sally Sparrow if you're a Dr Who fan).

She is 36 but her face still moves and she doesn't look like she has had any botox or fillers.

I don't think she needs them, but most other female actors of a similar age have suspiciously immobile foreheads.

In her latest film, Promising Young Woman, a reviewer thought she wasn't hot enough for the role 🤦‍♀️

whatswithtodaytoday · 01/06/2021 15:49

Tess Daley is famously keen on Botox, she has that shiny forehead you often get. Plus she's an ex-model with excellent bone structure, she's bound to age well.

I think it's safe to assume that most women (and many men) in the public eye have small tweaks - there is no magic potion given to celebrities to make them look better than the rest of us!

I personally think cheek and lip fillers are the worst culprits for making people look odd - they change the shape of the face so your brain recognises that they don't look quite right. Whereas Botox, laser, even facelifts just sort of smooth things out.

Wagsandclaws · 01/06/2021 16:10

Paulina Porizkova, she's utterly stunning and as an ex supermodel hasn't had anything done at all. Shes in her 50's now.

Grimble69 · 01/06/2021 16:49

Annette Bening, Joanna Lumley Kristen Scott-Thomas and Jennifer Saunders. June Whitfield always looked good too.
They look their age, they look great but I have no idea if they've had work done.

hollieberrie · 01/06/2021 16:55

Agree that Dawn French and Joanna Lumley look great, so attractive.
I would add Davina McCall, think she's stunning and ageing gracefully.

HasaDigaEebowai · 01/06/2021 17:03

Courtney cox looked bizarre in the friends reunion and Jennifer Anniston wasn’t looking great either which is weird since she looked fab in The Morning Show. I think she bottled it and went for extra fillers for the reunion. Lisa Murrow looked far better in comparison.

I’m not an enhancements basher and have baby botox myself but the overdone look is horrible.

HasaDigaEebowai · 01/06/2021 17:03

kudrow

Cowbells · 01/06/2021 17:04

I think Lindsay Duncan is luminously beautiful. She gets more stunning with age.

I agree

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 01/06/2021 17:09

Viola Davis

Jennifer Aniston looked like she was defying the ageing process for so but I think the thing with fillers is that there comes a tipping point where your face suddenly looks puffy and 'off'. Too much filler has accumulated over time.

Christy Turlington hasn't had anything done, her face has lines and crinkles. Still absolutely beautiful of course. But it must take some determination for a supermodel to say no to all that.

Mavisdoesnotreallyknow · 01/06/2021 17:15

I think a woman can look good without intervention because I don't find lines and wrinkles repulsive. What I do find repulsive is the pressure women are put under to erase signs of ageing.

To answer your question, OP, I think Mariella Frostrup, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters look great. They look engaged with life not fucking fillers!

Serpenta · 01/06/2021 17:17

@AnneLovesGilbert

Tamsin Greig is the first woman to pop into my head on seeing this. She’s absolutely beautiful and so watchable.
She looked SO good on the Friday Night Dinner reunion show. So beautiful and glowy.
catsjammies · 01/06/2021 17:18

Kate Winslet.

It's called lighting Grin

catsjammies · 01/06/2021 17:20

And she's not really old, but she looks like someone should in their mid-forties. Which is not how most of Hollywood looks in their mid-forties.

IEat · 01/06/2021 17:21

Definitely not Courtney cox, on the friends reunion

MajorMakeover · 01/06/2021 17:30

Monica Belluci

ScreamingMeMe · 01/06/2021 17:41

@Eastie77

I have no idea if she's had work done but the actress who plays Kathy in Eastenders looks very good. I saw a very old clip of her on EE classics and I think she looks younger now. I guess she is mid to late 60s.
Yes, I caught an episode of Eastenders recently (I don't normally watch it, haven't for years) and thought they must be showing some 'vintage' episodes, but then Danny Dyer showed up.
ZaraW · 01/06/2021 17:44

Diane Von Furstenburg looks amazing.

callmemaybee · 01/06/2021 17:47

How would you know they haven’t had “intervention” though? Natural work is designed to be subtle/undetectable

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 01/06/2021 17:49

Betty White.

She just shines.

Grimble69 · 01/06/2021 17:58

Sportswomen seem to age well.
