A New Purchase You are Excited About

In the spirit of the thread we have all seen (and probably commented on) about this board becoming a bit boring, I thought I would spice things up by starting a thread where we could share things bought recently that we are excited about.

Fun purchases only!

I will start. I got this from River Island. Very puffy sleeves but I am a pear shape so the puffiness balances me out. I love the pattern and is it so spring/summer and pretty. I know half of MN will hate this! www.riverisland.com/p/pink-cross-back-crop-top-782622?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlN-Xk5zR8AIViajVCh3leQS8EAQYASABEgKCpfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Beautiful @hiptobeasquare!

KeyboardWorriers · 25/05/2021 21:56

@ArabeI I have been coveting those hair ties for ages!!! Are you pleased with them?

HiGunny · 25/05/2021 23:10

Fab coat @hiptobeasquare

I went looking for a trench coat this week but being a shrimp they all completely overwhelmed me. Instead I came home with this...

I also bought a fab wrap cardi from Maje, a pair of tan leather loafers from Fatface and a vintage Mulberry Margaret.

It was my 40th last year and I never got to spend my birthday money due to lockdown so making up for lost time now 😆 I have never spent so much money in my life on fashion items so super excited about them all 😃

@MilduraS

This dress: [[https://www.silkfred.com/boutiques/dancing-leopard/clothing/dove-dress-in-navy-star]] I'd been umming and aaahing because I'm 5ft2 and quite a few reviews were from tall people celebrating the long length. Told myself I'd dust off the sewing machine if needed but it's here and it's perfect. DH commenting on how much taller I looked. It's so flattering and yes, I'll say it, comfortable. Grin
Ooh thanks for drawing my attention to this @MilduraS - ordered the green leopard one, been looking for a good green dress for a while!

Super pretty, super feminine and super flattering (even when I sized down). I want to wear it everywhere.

Yes, very much.

I nearly bought the multi coloured jewel pack, but instead opted for the more muted caramel, black and dusky pink colours. It felt like a purely frivolous purchase initially but I wear in a low plait or ponytail overnight and there has been less of an indent in the hair afterwards.

SocksAndTheCity · 26/05/2021 23:55

I bought this to go with my new maxi dress www.orelia.co.uk/products/luxe-power-necklace

plus the gold River Island wedge sandals linked upthread, which have completely solved the problem of it being a bit too long for my stumpy little legs - thank you to whoever it was Smile

bananamonkey · 27/05/2021 09:59

I just ordered these, hoping for the ☀️ to come out soon!

@Adventuresat40 love the Whistles dress! Is it more pink or red?

bendmeoverbackwards · 27/05/2021 10:13

@MilduraS love the dress. I’ve not bought from Silk Fred before, what’s the sizing and quality like?

Adventuresat40 · 27/05/2021 10:45

@bendmeoverbackwards I would say more pink.
I am glad the weather seems to be turning at last - I might actually get to wear it.

MrsBerthaRochester · 27/05/2021 10:45

Two midi dresses from Primark(lowering the tone) ,one sage green polka dot and the other dusky pink floral. Plus pink block heels shoes. ..

Watergirl1 · 30/05/2021 09:09

I have ordered from jodiescreations too, they look lovely!

Candleabra · 30/05/2021 09:29

I've bought a few things from H&m this week which I'm delighted with. All recommended from this thread. I said on the stitch fix thread that I've had better luck with new things I've seen here than in all my stitch fix boxes. So thank you!

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 30/05/2021 09:53

This midaxi broderie dress from M&S which is completely fab, and a Marlow jumper/cardi in coral/orange from Sezane. The Sezane stuff is great- tempted to buy their perfume as well.

waitingforsun · 30/05/2021 11:12

My Free People trousers that @ChubbyLittleManInACampervan posted earlier on the thread have arrived. I really like them but not sure if I'll keep them purely because I've no idea what to wear them with! 🤔

Anyone got ideas on how to style these?

www.freepeople.com/uk/shop/stunner-pants/

Also tried out my Lucy Bee Coconut fake tan last night. I've actually never fake tanned before in my life but I've got a wedding to go to in July and the dress I've got really needs a bit of a glow!!

ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 30/05/2021 11:57

I pair mine with racer back tank top, or loose boxy sleeveless/cropped t

I struggle more what shoes to wear with them Grin

waitingforsun · 30/05/2021 12:07

@ChubbyLittleManInACampervan I tried a close fitting cami tucked in which looked okay, but most of my other tops don't seem to really go. Not sure I can justify the price for something I'm not sure about if you know what I mean. As much as I love them!!

I think they look great with my Birkenstocks, shoes wise!

BusterGonad · 30/05/2021 14:11

I've been stocking up on things for my move to a new country, mainly cotton dresses and t shirts, today I bought 2 colourful stripy t shirts from Esprit and I'm really pleased because a few years back I tried on the same design in a different colorway and didn't buy it as it was quite pricey, I always regretted it and now I have 2! One pink and reds one blue and greens. They are really colourful and summery.

I bought this dress last week- went for a 12 as have packed on lockdown pounds, but it was surprisingly a bit big, so have returned it and ordered the 10. I think SilkFred is a front for various brands, so can’t comment on other things, but that dress is lovely- really well made and nice fabric.

I also ordered this, which is really nice too.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 30/05/2021 17:09

@ArabeI

A small thing really to get excited about, but they're lovely. A pack of six Slip Silk pure silk hair ties (not scrunchies, well actually like small thin scrunchies).
Yes, love these, they last ages too!
EwwSprouts · 30/05/2021 17:10

Excited to have bought a red bag for the summer. Never had a red one before! Real leather and a real bargain from TK Maxx.

Muffinpuffin · 30/05/2021 17:55

This beautiful metallic lipstick, I have far too many but can never resist a new one Wink
