And if so, how would you style it?

I'm a bit out my depth really Blush

It's a lovely dress and will fit right in that style is everywhere this year.
What about saltwater bronze or gold sandals with it? Should be warm enough in June and if you get them now you've a few weeks to break them in at home.

cherrypiepie · 13/05/2021 20:39

It's a great dress and perfect not beach or casual, just a cool stylish day dress that will look lovely in summer in London.

As for styling, flat sandals and a straw bag? Sunglasses, Trainers in a bag? Bouncy blow dry? Dewey make up?

I would wear it with my new palmiera style sandals as they are the most comfortable shoes ever.

I want to go for tea a the titz!

Congrats on the weight loss OP enjoy your fabulous occasion.

NaiceAftTea · 13/05/2021 20:40

GreyG a cropped card is a great suggestion. I was wondering how to jacket up as I'd surmise my normal denim one wouldn't be Titzable.

It’s beautiful. It suits both the beach and the ritz depending on the accessories.

I would go bohemian with accessories. Maybe tan leather and turquoise jewellery.

Take walking shoes for after.

Where the hell do you all live that you think it's a beach dress? The Hamptons?

Wondering the same thing!!! There seem to be some very very conservative types on MN. People on beaches here (not the UK) wear very little in the way of clothing - certainly not maxi dresses Confused

Ninkanink · 13/05/2021 20:42

@NaiceAftTea

Laurie - I love rayban aviators but I'm a sunnies as Alice band kinda girl, so nose pegs are very not possible.

I'll have a look at other choices. Definitely for a treat.

I've got a few Mulberries one size fits all. So should be okay for a handbag. But it'd be nice to get a new one to complement the dress, don't you all agree? Wink

It’s like you read my mind!! 😃😃

(I love a handbag thread/hunt/unboxing)

imisscashmere · 13/05/2021 20:44

It’s a great dress and perfect for afternoon tea at the Titz Smile

You look lovely OP.

You need to work on your self confidence, I was expecting a potato in a dress from the way you described yourself but you have a great figure.

cherrypiepie · 13/05/2021 20:49

It's perfect and you look beautiful.

Bluntness100 · 13/05/2021 20:50

I can’t see any photo..

Couple of pictures here of 'real' people wearing the dress.

OP - I don't think you'd get a cropped cardi over those sleeves

FreekStar · 13/05/2021 20:52

I've just bought big square sunglasses from Coach at Costco!

I'd love to see photos of any of you that own the dress in the OP- I was so tempted to buy it!

It's NOT a beach dress! Who wears a fully lined long sleeve maxi dress costing £140 to the beach where a) it will hopefully be too hot for it and b) you will get suncream stains on it! ? Weirdos! It might look good on a summer evening on holiday, but is also suitable for general wear. It's 70s boho style and I would style with tan wedge sandals and a pair of 70s sunglasses as already suggested.

MissDolittle15 · 13/05/2021 20:52

Love the dress OP. I think it's perfect for an afternoon tea at a hotel. These hotel afternoon teas are not super formal occasions in my experience and I think the dress strikes a good balance. Enjoy the occasion!

Reinventinganna · 13/05/2021 20:53

I can’t see a pic either

DameLucy · 13/05/2021 20:53

I can’t see a photo either, but I’d totally wear that dress. I think it’s beautiful. I’d wear it with beautiful jewellery, metallic flat sandals and bag to match (big enough to fit your trainers for walking comfortably before/afterwards).
Have a lovely time. Lucky girl x

PurplePansy05 · 13/05/2021 20:53

Lovely dress and suitable for the occasion 😊but it says sold out when I went on the website?

Ninkanink · 13/05/2021 20:55

OP already has the dress.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/05/2021 20:58

Can't see a pic but I LOVE the dress.

CorianderBee · 13/05/2021 20:59

Afternoon tea is smart casual, not full glamour so I think it's lovely. V stylish.

nevertrustaherdofcows · 13/05/2021 20:59

There is a 20% off code R1D3 if any come back into stock

Exactly.

Anyway, just look at royals and society ladies wearing maxi-dresses to formal weddings.

That's the beauty of maxi-dresses, perfect for beach photos AND formal events Grin

NaiceAftTea · 13/05/2021 21:06

Looking through the Real Folk photos, the green version is rather lovely too!

And with that 20% off nevertrust has mentioned, I'd feel obliged yo buy it if it comes back into stock. Grin
