It’s fine. If you are comfortable and enjoy wearing it you definitely should. Anything goes at the Ritz. You will see people dressed head to toe in Chanel and others in jeans and trainers. So if you want to dress up and you like that dress you should definitely go for it. But don’t feel obliged to do so if there is something you would be more comfortable in. Have a great time and enjoy your trip to London.

TedImgoingmad · 13/05/2021 21:07

Ah disappointing. My sidebar for active reads, "Is this dress suitable dress for a V Fan" . I was hoping OP was going for a massive 80s perm, skin tight red jumpsuit, and a bit of lizard skin on show.

MadKittenWoman · 13/05/2021 21:09

No idea what tits is, but I would wear wedges.

AppleKatie · 13/05/2021 21:09

It isn’t a ‘beach dress’. Looks perfect for the occasion OP. Would love to see your picture though!

riromay · 13/05/2021 21:20

@NaiceAftTea

Realised forgot the photo Hmm

Please please be gentle.

Looks amazing op! I genuinely like it more on you than on the model! It suits you great Smile

Hi OP - I love Hobbs as their dresses take you everywhere - like a magic carpet!
I have this:
www.hobbs.com/product/carly-floral-midi-dress/0220-5675-9022L00-FLD-GRN-FSCHIA.html
so flattering like all their items and ideal for an afternoon tea with beautiful sandels and co-ordinated toe nails. You will look and feel fab and you can wear it time and time again.

132orbust · 13/05/2021 21:29

I have something like this and with fushia toes - lovely and soooo comfy too.

They're rather lovely, but us the blavk too harsh with such a pale dress?

I have no style though, I'll trust you vipers.

I’m really disappointed that I can’t see the photo.

@NaiceAftTea got any ideas on bags??

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 13/05/2021 21:39

I don't think a cropped cardi for that dress would be right at all-the beauty is in the lines of the sleeves and cut.
Stuffing those sleeves in a cardi would be sacrilege!
Hopefully you won't need anything over the dress at all-fingers crossed for a nice warm June day drinking posh tea champagne with DD and enjoying London!!!

goingtotown · 13/05/2021 21:40

OP Lovely dress. 5’11” reviewer says the dress is above the ankles so Tan Wedges if you’re not tall.

NaiceAftTea · 13/05/2021 21:45

Nink I'm contemplating

this for contrast??*

I think it will be gorgeous on you OP! Do you follow Emily Jane Johnston on Instagram? She’s a size 18 and always looks fabulous- she had that dress on her stories this week and it looked stunning!

NaiceAftTea · 13/05/2021 21:46

Yes it's quite long, I'm going to trip, I'm sure.

But contemplating getting it shortened

No no @NaiceAftTea black sandals are your friend and go with everything most things - you tie in your toe nails with a polish colour that matches the bright colour in the outfit!

I suggest the above.
I am not mad with the arms - little cardi if you like - I'll take a look now

SpeckledyHen · 13/05/2021 21:47

I can’t see the pic either :( Can you post it again OP?

nevertrustaherdofcows · 13/05/2021 21:47

There's always a thermal vest for underneath, Mumsie

Ninkanink · 13/05/2021 21:48

Oh god yes. I absolutely love that colour way. Sadly I haven’t any budget for a Mulberry bag this year.

Big thumbs up.

Think it'll be great for the Titz. Hope you have an amazing time. Good luck with finding some shoes you like.

Clymene · 13/05/2021 21:51

You look amazing king! And I don't know if this is weird but you have really lovely hands

Firsttimecatlady · 13/05/2021 21:52

I’ve tea-ed at the Ritz, and that dress is perfect Smile Also- you sound absolutely bloody lovely from your responses- smart, funny, a real pleasure to read your comments! I’m aware how weird that sounds, but as people on MN are quick to point out the opposite in other posts, I though I’d just say. You sound ace. And I’m nicking “oh crepes”. I’m more of a fuckington bollocks girl, but I always like to add to my lexicon Wink
