And if so, how would you style it?

I'm a bit out my depth really Blush

[quote trunumber]That weight loss is amazing!!! Well done you

So you only want maxi dresses? Would you consider midi with tights and ankle boots?

That's a very lovely dress, but I can't have anything waisted as I'm like a barrel.

The boden dress is high waisted, so I think it looks okay.

I've tried it on and thought it looked well, so did a couple of friends (sent photos) but they might be being kind. But I've lost confidence now after this thread Sad

@NaiceAftTea

It's the tits, you don't need to be dressed up 'fancy'.

Who are you going with?

That would determine my choice of clothing more than it being the Titz.

Are you 30 years okd (as I assumed) or size 30 as bluntness assumed ?

Snally82 · 13/05/2021 19:09

It’s fine for the Ritz :)

I own it and would wear it to the Ritz. It is well made, fully lined, and very comfy. I would call it informal rather than casual.

Def white trainers unless it is a dull day. Boots and a polo neck would make it warmer

MindtheBelleek · 13/05/2021 19:11

That’s fine for tea at the Ritz.

Twickerhun · 13/05/2021 19:12

I have a dressing gown that looks very very similar. I do like the dress even so.

Lipsandlashes · 13/05/2021 19:12

We went to the Ritz for afternoon tea a couple of years ago and people weren’t really dressed that fancy. I just wore plain black dress - it was winter though

AlmostSummer21 · 13/05/2021 19:12

Post us a couple of photos! You can scribble out your face if you really want to.

I'm shorter & fatter than you, no need to be self conscious!

Mumsnut · 13/05/2021 19:13

I will admit to having it in the jungly green also

GreyhoundG1rl · 13/05/2021 19:15

It's not remotely fancy, sorry. It's a beach dress.

Divebar2021 · 13/05/2021 19:16

I think it’s fine for the Ritz but not with knee boots.... tan or otherwise.

Moltenpink · 13/05/2021 19:16

It’s beautiful & I think it would be perfect for afternoon tea and a walk round London.

MazDazzle · 13/05/2021 19:17

I’ve worked at lots of ‘fancy’ hotels and restaurants. In my experience the more posh someone is the scruffier they dress! I’ve served Lords and Ladies with holes in their jumpers.

The dress is lovely. Congrats on the amazing weight loss and enjoy!

NeonStones · 13/05/2021 19:18

It's fine for afternoon tea, really. I think it's a lovely dress.

Hadalifeonce · 13/05/2021 19:19

It's lovely, can you wear it with nice sandals? If you take a bag, with a change of shoes for walking around, if your sandals don't work for walking.
Maybe some big jewellery.
It really doesn't matter what you wear, just wear it with pride. You have done so well with your weight loss.🎉

Greenmarmalade · 13/05/2021 19:20

GORGEOUS

MazDazzle · 13/05/2021 19:20

It's a beach dress.

Really? Hardly seems practical for a day at the beach.

It seems to be the style of dress that’s very much in at the moment.

NeonStones · 13/05/2021 19:21

And I don't think it is remotely a beach dress, it's hugely impractical for the beach. Maybe for wearing to your fancy hotel cocktail bar after you've been to the beach and drinking cocktails as the sun goes down. Big hat required.

Parker231 · 13/05/2021 19:26

Lovely dress and suitable for all different occasions. I would wear it with white trainers (I have a similar dress and have worn it’s many times).

mamaoffourdc · 13/05/2021 19:26

I think you will look lovely! I would wear with very white trainers - I go to these kind of places a lot! You will fit right in! Congrats with the weight loss truly amazing x

ScrambledSmegs · 13/05/2021 19:26

That's lovely, OP. Perfect for a not-overdressed but still 'out-out' look. Not a beach dress Hmm

And I'm always going to think of it as The Tits from now on. Thanks for that Grin

sqirrelfriends · 13/05/2021 19:33

I think this will be fine, it's a lovely dress.

As op have said, you don't have to get super dressed up for tea at the Titz.

MindtheBelleek · 13/05/2021 19:36

@GreyhoundG1rl

It's not remotely fancy, sorry. It's a beach dress.
It doesn’t have to be ‘fancy’, it has to be appropriate for tea at the Ritz, which it is. London is casual. The people tottering around hotels for afternoon tea in heels, giant blowdries and weddingy outfits are tourists.
