Fellow big breasted women, I need YOUR help! Let's find flattering Summer styles.

Hello,

I am starting this thread after one too many failed shopping orders for Summer dresses! I am a 34 KK and have bras sorted (Bravissimo is fab!). Why is it SO hard to find summer dresses that are cut for big boobs?

After much failure, I think I need scoop/v-neck dresses that are tighter on the bodice and flow out to midi length. Love a bit of a sleeve too as it makes hiding bra straps easier. Having had two babies, I am bigger than I was and a 14/16 now so looser stuff that still nips in at the waist is better. I am just finding it so hard! Wraps do not work for me and buttons often gape and I feel like it's so hard not to look frumpy with a huge boobs.

Next don't seem to cut for bigger boobs and sizing up makes the shoulder area look ridiculous! Tried Joules but the same thing applies. Thinking about HUSH maybe but it's pricey. Has anyone found any real gems that fit the above criteria? Help! Here are some I am thinking of trying...

Ooh the dress I ordered is arriving today, hoping it fits!

QueenPaw · 01/06/2021 18:07

@millymaid arrived! Neckline is a little higher than I usually like but it fits and I think it's flattering
Wearing a size 18

Highly recommend Bravissimo, as I've mentioned before! Went in for another fitting at the weekend. Started off with a new fitter who got it completely wrong and I ended up in tears in the fitting room- not my finest moment. More experienced fitter took over and she was fab- moved me from a 34KK to a 36J and then worked on the styles until we had two that fitted perfectly (could have been more but I loved the ones she chose and we had tried about 6 styles by then so I was knackered). The Panache Tango is perfect on me, she made me feel so good about myself which I was so grateful for having started the fitting being told there was nothing there that would fit me (clearly untrue!). Lovely women- called Karen at the Cheltenham store if you're local to Gloucestershire/Cotswolds/Wiltshire. It's about an hour away for me but worth it!

I have just ordered two more dresses from Hush- realised today that having 3 dresses plus 1 jumpsuit isn't quite enough. Need one other jumpsuit really and a dress but ordered two t-shirt style dresses. Linked below! Had lots of compliments on my Hush dresses so far, have worn with white/grey converse and metallic chunky sandals and feel good. Huge change for me! Still pursuing breast reduction though.

I am a bit afraid of things that are more form-fitting but we will see!

@QueenPaw. What a great dress. It looks cool and versatile. I am very impressed with the waist, both yours and the dresses. Can you show a link to it please.
@Ceramicsandsoftfurnishings. I am pleased Bravissimo are fitting in person again. I totally get how vulnerable we feel in the cubicle. Non of us is that body confident and it is easy to feel like we don’t fit the bra rather than the bra not fitting us. I am so glad you got sorted.
I am also really looking forward to seeing you in your new frocks, if you want to post. They are not styles I would try but glad to have horizons expanded.

katplva · 01/06/2021 20:03

Here is the hush dress if anyone is interested. I don’t have any kind of narrow waist but I’m pleased with how this fits.

That looks lovely on you

QueenPaw · 01/06/2021 20:15

@NellietheNumpty it's this one, but if you click the brand name, there seems to be plain ones too

I swear by hush Kensington dresses. I am a 36 FF

This thread is doing wonders for me and is making me look at a Hush spending spree for the first time! You all look wonderful in the dresses posted. I'm having a good rummage through my summer wear today. I've unfortunately put a lot of weight on through lockdown that isn't helping.

Not to derail but I'd be so grateful if anyone can help with this. I too wear Panache Tango, they are the only bra in about 10years I've worn as the fit is so much better. One issue is that in summer the pattern is really obvious, I have been looking forever for one that fits that is just plain material. Anyone? Please? I've even written to Panache asking for a plain one. No idea why they haven't done this!!

bendmeoverbackwards · 04/06/2021 09:53

On the subject of bras, can anyone recommend a good supportive uplifting bra that is low in the middle?

Twinkie01 · 04/06/2021 09:58

I've got 32E boobs and have recently bought so dresses from Nobody's Child and they are cut really well for bigger boobs.

Alice Temperly at JL too

woodhill · 04/06/2021 10:41

Helpful about Nobody's child.

My first thoughts with the name was that it was a maternity range so I haven't looked

I used to like M&S indigo, wish they still did that range

Not summer wear, but I just bought this Basque and love it. The first time in my life I've felt relatively attractive in my underwear.

woodhill · 04/06/2021 14:29

I don't think the fashions at the moment are particularly flattering, high necks or plunging v-necks which I feel too exposed in though granted they are the better than the former

NellietheNumpty · 04/06/2021 18:50

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie. You have been my style icon forever and I am smitten with the basque. I just need a life to go with it.
Here is my contribution. Little mistress.

Ha ha! I am round and old and grey and quite ugly, but that is very lovely of you! Grin

The Basque is lovely. I recommend that everybody treats themselves to one immediately.

Love the colour of your dress.

CakeInMyFace · 04/06/2021 21:18

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie I just ordered that Bravissimo playsuit - I've recently discovered they are much more flattering on me than dresses! X

QueenPaw · 04/06/2021 22:16

I bought this bra today which is so lovely
Elomi plunge bras are the best fit on me

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/06/2021 08:41

Cake - hope you like it. I agree that jumpsuits and playsuits can be more flattering than dresses. The waists seem to sit better for me, and the bust is often more fitted. Easier to find v or wrap styles too.
