Summer handbags

Start by saying I have an expensive bag habit! I have a nice collection but I realised the other day I have mostly dark winter colours - oxblood, navy blue, rust, tan. I know the tan will probably work in the summer but I'd like some lighter coloured bags.

What colour bags do you use in the summer? Any nice suggestions please?

It depends on how expensive your handbag habit is!?

I have purchased for the summer ... a Chloe Marcie raffia bag in tan, another Chloe Marcie in cream with tassels, a Ysl straw and leather black camera bag and a large lady Dior in a dusty pink colour.

I think that they will cover my warm weather requirements ( colours are black, pink, tan and cream ) I would have a look at Chloe and Ysl - they have some gorgeous paler summer colours - if you are into Gucci they also do pastel versions of their Mormont if you like those?

Have a look at Anya Hindmarch. Not as expensive as previously mentioned but interesting designs and British brand.

I have a silver Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag for summer.

I love my baby blue Fossil bag for summer, a nude Guess bag, Rose pink Radley and a paisley pattern Coach bag. Got them all from outlets so under £100

Actually I have far too many Aspinal bags - they are very reasonable if bought in the sales and I've bought a couple on Ebay too. Absolutely gorgeous leather in some really interesting designs I highly recommend :-)

I have pretty much the same bags all year round, brown leather in various styles. I've got a tan suede bag I use more in the summer.

I like my bags classic and neutral.

@bendmeoverbackwards they were bought in store. Either at Cheshire Oaks or Livingston

If using online Fossil have sale items and an outlet tab but still cheaper in outlet shop.

I also have an oak Lily which is my go-to, and I have a greige Anya Hindmarch tote. I’ve just bought another small A H crossbody in a caramel colour.

Next year I want to find a Lily in red because it’ll be fantastic on beautiful summer days!

I’ve got a couple of Aspinal bags and agree they’re lovely quality and great designs. Haven’t got a summer colour yet, though. I have one small saddle bag in burgundy, and an evening bag in midnight blue.

I also have a big basket tote in natural/black. Long term I’m going to get a small Loewe basket.

I love yellow and sage green for summer too. But I really don’t think you could ever go wrong with tan in the summer. I agree that suede gives good summer vibes too.

I forgot about my Darley in rosewater as well! I’ve not had a chance to use her yet as Lockdown happened.

Coach always have lots of summery styles and colours.

I like a taupe bag which i use all year round for every day, but a white croc cameral bag from jigsaw is my summer staple when I want to be dressed up and not carting round lots of stuff.

@alloutofcareunits @bendmeoverbackwards did you buy yourself a summer bag before the sale ended?

I am going to try very hard not to buy any bags this summer (I would love a proper picnic basket so I’m going to put money by for that instead), but if I could I’d get myself a little hand held basket bag. I’ve decided that if I see an ideal one in a charity shop then I’m allowed to get it, but otherwise it’ll have to wait!

@bendmeoverbackwards I didn’t notice that it was you who started the thread (just saw ‘bag’ and got all excited 😆). If you’re still looking I’ve found that there are usually lots of nice options at Reiss/Whistles/Jigsaw.

I’ve got this one in tan; it’s a great little bag, quite stylish looking and roomy enough for all essentials, but not too big :

I’d look at eBay too - there are so many bargains.

I bought a Fossil medium crossbody bag, great size in a lovely yellow for the summer, an absolute bargain in TKmaxx......... £15 in the sale (perfect condition lovely grained leather)

@Ninkanink I haven't bought it yet but the sale hasn't ended I checked this morning so still might.... I'm going shopping sometime this week for first time in months, if I don't splurge then I'm buying the bag
