Summer handbags

Start by saying I have an expensive bag habit! I have a nice collection but I realised the other day I have mostly dark winter colours - oxblood, navy blue, rust, tan. I know the tan will probably work in the summer but I'd like some lighter coloured bags.

What colour bags do you use in the summer? Any nice suggestions please?

I'd buy a Kipling Art Mini. Comes in all sorts of colours.

That's why I was concerned! I hope it arrives but I'm half expecting the order to be cancelled!!

My bag has come. I Iove the colour, it's a bit bigger than I expected so it's not really a daily bag for me and I must admit I'm a bit disappointed with the strap length. Am sure it showed as a shoulder bag but it's not going to fit over my shoulder so it'll have to be one I carry.

I do like it though!

I think it's a real stretch to refer to it as a shoulder bag. I can just get it on my shoulder empty, I won't be able to once it's got stuff in it, especially given the size of it.

Hopefully some pics. Sorry about the quality, trying to find a mirror, not get my face in and not show too much of my messy house!

@VanGoghsDog the bag looks beautiful though I agree the shoulder strap is quite sort i doubt you'd get it on your shoulder if you had a thick coat on or the bag was full. Love the colour though ❤️

Exactly. And I put it to its longest possible length too (the strap only has two buckle holes).

You could always buy a longer cream coloured canvas (or similar) detachable strap on Etsy to make it more functional for you.

Always up for buying more things, I'll have a look. It would need to be quite specific as it only has brass loops, not clips.

I think they usually have clips on them, so you should hopefully be able to clip the strap onto the loops.

Ah, of course, the clips are on the strap!

🙂 I did second guess myself for a minute and had to check to make sure I wasn’t completely mixed up! Tbf I do spend a LOT of time looking at bags and bag accessories...

Mine has arrived but I haven't had a chance to unpack it yet but I'm very relieved it's been delivered!

Ooh, I’ve been looking at this in Teal-it’s lovely! Can I ask how heavy it is?! Some leather bags are really heavy and others are more soft and light!

Also, does the green leather strap tuck away neatly when you’re using the cross body one or is it quite bulky in the bag?

@Howshouldibehave I don't think it's very heavy at all. The short handle can't be removed but could be tucked inside when using the longer strap as it's a big bag I don't think it would be an issue!
