Just ordered my first Mulberry bag

Still had birthday money from start of the year, so after constantly looking at them online I have just gone for it! Quite excited but also feel a bit guilty!! It is birthday money and it was my 40 😬

I love this tote
but mystifyingly, it was available in a lovely muted dusty blue colour and now I can't see that

Think they may have discontinued that colour @SelkieBe. The grey is lovely though.

I'm laughing at the suggestion to buy a bench. It reminds me of this time when a woman I knew was giving diet advice to another plumper woman in the group and the plump woman said but I don't want to eat salad egg and sparkling water, I want to eat carbs and wine. I feel like that. I don't want a bench with lettuce. I want a bag!

I tried to post a picture of the Iris Hobo there which I also really like. I love the chloe daryl and this is very similar but a bit bigger and cheaper. So practically walking towards me with its arms out that Iris Hobo!

Neither my phone nor my lap top will allow me to post photos. Weird.

I’d like to thank all you lovely little - DH just asked me what I’m up to, so I told him I was reading a thread on MN about Mulberry handbags which he knows I adore but would never buy for myself.

He said to get one for my birthday! I’m now going down the lovely rabbit hole of which one I’d like.

Then think about your lifestyle and what style would suit your wardrobe, especially your coats/jackets, and also what size you like.

It was nice to visit the shop, i visited Mulberry shop twice and House of Fraser once, it was nice to see them in the flesh and try them on. I love the totes, I saw someone last week when i was out shopping with the pink Bayswater tote, it was lovely! Might get saving! ear mark my christmas money!!

@SelkieBe they switch out the colours pretty regularly so it may just not be available anymore. But if you really loved that specific colour way you could call the outlet shops to enquire as they often stock past seasons’ colours at a reduced price!

great advice! I loved the Lily but it really didn't suit me or my lifestyle. It is so lovely right enough! I liked the Amberley Satchel too, but it looked quite small in the shop, even though its bigger than the Darley that i bought; as it comes in a bit at the top i didnt think there was much in it room wise between the two. The mini Alexa was lovely too...!

Yes I agree! Especially if it’s your first more expensive bag there’s often an unconscious leaning toward keeping it for best, but I really wouldn’t.

Right from the beginning I made a decision to not baby my first special bag too much - I wanted to be able to enjoy it every day to make it properly worth it. Even my regular work horse bag still looks great now despite some wear and a scratch or two, and I still love her. My Mitzy that I sold recently (I miss her 😭😭) was in mint condition after 5 years of use. So there’s no need to be too precious with them.

I do have a couple of Mulberry bags now that I don’t use often but that’s just because I don’t go out to events or evenings all that often, and I save my peach coloured bag for summer. However I keep them out on my shelves in my wardrobe so I can enjoy them and admire them every day.

@Missushbb I do that too! Especially when I’m considering buying I find YouTube unboxings and especially reviews very useful in determining whether or not a bag suits me & my lifestyle.
