What's the best hand cream you've used?

My hands are like sandpaper and I've tried a few different creams now. Recommendations for what to buy next? Especially if it smells amazing too! Effectiveness is most important though obviously.

Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm. The smell is amazing, and the hand cream works fantastically well.

I hand a huge pump of this in the living room so the family can help themselves whenever needed.

GrouchyKiwi · 30/04/2021 11:53

I tried the O'Keefe's one and it didn't work for me at all.

The best I've found over here is Avon's Avocado hand cream.

ForThePurposeOfTheTape · 30/04/2021 12:02

L'Occitane if you're fancy, O'Keefes Working Hands if not. The latter has no smell but is excellent

Ponks · 30/04/2021 12:02

Currently using Cerave Reparative Hans cream (was recommended on another thread) and really liking it especially for the hard cuticles.

justawoman · 30/04/2021 12:02

Following a rec on here I recently bought some udderly smooth hand cream and it’s fabulous for my sore, cracked and sensitive hands (which often react badly to other creams). Has made a huge difference in a couple of days.

Fnib · 30/04/2021 12:05

I'm using Aveeno skin relief moisturising skin lotion. Anything with perfume in it makes my already sore hands more sore. It's worked well so far.

WellTidy · 30/04/2021 12:07

Occitane hand cream with 20% Shea butter. All of the occitane ones are good, but this one is the best.

I also like the aveeno one, but I prefer the scent to the occitane one.

carrie74 · 30/04/2021 12:09

Yes to L'Occitane Shea butter. It's amazing stuff, a little goes a long way.

This stuff is amazing and is the only thing I've found that stops me getting chapped hands in the winter.

NanuNanuM · 30/04/2021 12:10

Body Shop Hemp when hands are in a bad way.
Clarins to make my nails grow quick
L'occitane for daily use - absorbs well. The lemon one smells of lemon meringue pie (according to my children)

TheBitterBoy · 30/04/2021 12:14

Eucerin urea hand cream. Better than body shop hemp and O'keefes IMHO. It doesn't have a beautiful smell, but I put it on at night and wake up with 'new' hands, it's amazing.

DinosaurDiana · 30/04/2021 12:16

I like the body shop one in the silver tube. Get lots of compliments about the smell.
But as I’ve not attempted town yet, I’ve started an anti-ageing one that seems to last longer. Nivea Q10.

Robinonaspade · 30/04/2021 12:28

O'Keeffe's working hands is best I've found.

APurpleSquirrel · 30/04/2021 12:37

I love Nivea Q10 - it sinks in quickly & isn't sticky.

SOLINVICTUS · 30/04/2021 14:12

The best I've ever used is the Neutrogena Norwegian which costs £3.99 and the tiny tube has 300 applications. I literally need to use it about once a week only.
O'Keefe's doesn't touch it (but I like to use O'Keefes on my feet inside socks overnight.
L'Occitane smells fab and I have some of theirs too, and also Tisserand.
But if you want effectiveness, it's the cheapo Neutrogena all the way.

Headyhurty · 30/04/2021 14:35

I thought I'd found it someine put some in the loo at work Sanex hydrate 24hr, but it seems to have been discontinued. Does anyone know what it's replacement is or have Sanex just stopped moisturisers?

Restore hand cream from the Apothecary range at M&S, it smells and feels far more expensive than it is, and lasts ages. Really recommend. I've used L'occitane before and this feels like a good dupe for it.

WrinklesShminkles · 30/04/2021 16:32

Burt's Bees ultimate hand cream is lovely, rich but non-greasy and no silicone feeling (which I get from O'Keefe's and Eucerin). It has a very faint herbal smell.
Currently on offer at Boots:
Burts Bees

StillSmallVoice · 30/04/2021 16:47

I have awful hands, particularly round the cuticles. I have tried quite a few of the ones recommended by here, but the one I like best is the Eucerin Urea one mentioned upthread.

CervixHaver · 30/04/2021 17:00

M&S!!!! Metallic orange tube - Best I've ever found! Wasn't a fan of L'Occitane

FindingMeno · 30/04/2021 17:15

I found body shop hemp much better than l' occitane shea.

FizzyApricot · 30/04/2021 17:16

The body shop hemp made my hands feel like they were burning

bluebeck · 30/04/2021 17:20

My favourite is Neals Yard Bee Lovely.

It smells sooooo good.

MrsJackPearson · 30/04/2021 17:26

Child’s Farm hand cream is the only one that works for me when my hands get dry and sore, anything else stings but this is formulated for sensitive skin and eczema. My hands were sore last week from too much hand sanitizer and hand washing, popped into Superdrug for some Child’s Farm and 2 shop assistants both said they also swear by it.
