What's the best hand cream you've used?

My hands are like sandpaper and I've tried a few different creams now. Recommendations for what to buy next? Especially if it smells amazing too! Effectiveness is most important though obviously.

Prai anti ageing hand cream, or o’Keefes working hands. My hands are sooo bad. I need a steroid cream too.

Just starting using child’s farm moisturing hand wash, and that helps!

WellIWasInTheNeighbourhoo · 30/04/2021 17:31

The Chemistry Brand Hand Cream

ajandjjmum · 30/04/2021 17:32

Me - Clarins - DH - O'Keefe's working hands

abouquetofsharpenedpencils · 30/04/2021 17:36

Used to be L’Occitane
Until I discovered Cicaplast (La Roche Posay)

Lou98 · 30/04/2021 17:40

O'Keefes Working Hands Cream!

I'm a dog groomer and having my hands constantly in the water with shampoos etc just ruined them, they were so cracked and painful, this cleared them right up and prevented it from happening again!

I only put a tiny bit on at a time though as find if I put too much on it can be quite greasy, but a tiny bit is all you need and so the tub last ages!

StellaLeonte · 30/04/2021 17:40

Liz Earle and Caudalie are my favourites. Beautiful scent and hands are softer the minute I use them.

PomegranateQueen · 30/04/2021 17:41

Child’s Farm hand cream is the only one that works for me when my hands get dry and sore, anything else stings but this is formulated for sensitive skin and eczema. My hands were sore last week from too much hand sanitizer and hand washing, popped into Superdrug for some Child’s Farm and 2 shop assistants both said they also swear by it.

Yes! Once my hands get to the dry and cracked stage this or O'keeffe's working hands are the only thing that works. I carry L'occitane in my handbag to use while out and about but it's not quite intensive enough to use exclusively.

spinduffy · 30/04/2021 19:34

I’ve tried them all but keep returning to jo Malone vitamin e hand cream. It’s the only jo Malone product that I rate

SquitMcJit · 30/04/2021 19:38

@SOLINVICTUS

The best I've ever used is the Neutrogena Norwegian which costs £3.99 and the tiny tube has 300 applications. I literally need to use it about once a week only. O'Keefe's doesn't touch it (but I like to use O'Keefes on my feet inside socks overnight. L'Occitane smells fab and I have some of theirs too, and also Tisserand. But if you want effectiveness, it's the cheapo Neutrogena all the way.
Yes. I agree with this - Neutrogena

And especially if left on overnight (in cotton gloves or socks). Sorted out my hands in one night - and they were sore and scaly from a bad reaction to a hand gel.

Bigfatsquirrel · 30/04/2021 19:47

SEAMS handcream (buy it online) is great

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 30/04/2021 19:55

Body shop hemp. L’occitane didn’t work for me.

Divineswirls · 30/04/2021 19:55

The Body Shop, L'occitaine and Atrixo all work really well.

Use the cheaper ones during the day when you're washing your hands more often and the expensive ones at night before bed.

BrimFullOfAsher · 30/04/2021 20:02

Kiehls is easily the best I've used. It's really not very cheap but it's definitely worth it!

ThatIsMyPotato · 30/04/2021 20:40

Does the o keefes smell?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 30/04/2021 20:42

Elizabeth Arden 24 hr hand cream.

Needtheadvice · 30/04/2021 20:47

Neutrogena Norwegian all the way, my hands were in a right state with gels, washing with no other hand creams touching it. Neutrogena really does the trick.

Historytoo · 30/04/2021 20:50

Neutrogena for when I've been lax in putting on the L’Occitane. Neutrogena is sticky but it works and L’Occitane smells lovely. @FizzyApricot I had no idea you could get a key to squeeze L'Occitane out. Off to Google...

SpringtimeSummertime · 30/04/2021 20:55

Has anyone tried nursem. It’s really good! I use the cream but you can get a lotion too.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 30/04/2021 20:57

Body Shop hemp was my most highly rated.

Sadly Body Shop anything is out of the question for me now, so am looking through this thread for a replacement.

Is that because of their terrible treatment of JKRowling?
Covidatemyhomework · 30/04/2021 21:12

Another vote for L’Occitane. It’s amazing, and I’ve tried a lot of hand creams. Nothing comes close to theirs.

Yes @SpringtimeSummertime! I bought some recently after seeing it on Dragons Den and it’s genuinely really good. My hands were so dry and cracked after all continuous washing. So much better now.
Pinkallium · 30/04/2021 21:25

Agree with the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula. More effective than much more expensive things I’ve tried.

Moonwatcher1234 · 30/04/2021 21:45

Body shop hemp...oddly enough body shop rose one is v poor

Iamanaubergine · 30/04/2021 21:53

Rituals, Soap and Glory or Neutrogena all get my vote.

If they’re really dry & cracked Neutrogena but it doesn’t really have a smell whereas the Rituals & Soap and Glory ones smell lovely.
