What's the best hand cream you've used?

My hands are like sandpaper and I've tried a few different creams now. Recommendations for what to buy next? Especially if it smells amazing too! Effectiveness is most important though obviously.

I have tubes of L'Occitane hand creams in my handbags, side of the bed, kitchen, living room.. not greasy, absorbs well and smells lovely.

Yaty · 30/04/2021 07:52

Okeefes working hands cream is the only one I've found that makes any difference to my very dry hands. It's unscented though.

tywysoges · 30/04/2021 07:53

I came here to say l’occitane too Smile - I use the almond one. When I worked in retail (pre COVID) and used hand sanitiser a lot, I had a travel sized tube in my pocket at all times. The roses one smells amazing too.

FritataPatate · 30/04/2021 07:54

Aveeno

Chunkymenrock · 30/04/2021 07:55

Palmers cocoa butter hand cream works for me.

Twinkie01 · 30/04/2021 08:11

Rituals Night Rescue Hand Mask.

Apileofballyhoo · 30/04/2021 08:16

Kiehl's Ultimate Strength hand salve for general, Burt's Bees in the flat tin for cracks and cuts. CeraVe moisturising lotion for excellent value.

Flugbusters4 · 30/04/2021 08:18

Love Palmer's for budget and Aesop for fancy - Body Shop hemp hand protector for mid - range

Can you tell I've read gotten into hand creams this past year Grin

Orangesand · 30/04/2021 08:19

Lush do a good one that was designed for nurses who constantly have to wash their hands so they dry out. Can't remember the name but it mentioned the nurse story on the tub.

Another vote too for Okeefes. Its really good at healing hands, not just moisturising them. If your hands are cracked it STINGS but my gosh does it heal them up quickly. I put it on before bed (quite a large amount) and by the morning it's like I have different hands.

misskatamari · 30/04/2021 08:19

O'keefe's working hands is brilliant, as it's the body shop Hemp range

oohmyback · 30/04/2021 08:24

Boy shop hemp hand cream is my favourite. I also have an Aldi hemp one which is good but not as good as body shop one!

Some people think it smells weird....I love the smell!

StubbleMeansTrouble · 30/04/2021 08:27

I would vote for OKeefes too.. But also vaseline aloe Vera intensive lotion is cheap as chips, really works and smells lovely.

mrssmiling · 30/04/2021 08:30

Another vote for L’Occitane. I bought some last March when my hands were really cracked and dry from hand washing and sanitiser. The Shea butter one worked brilliantly - not cheap but lasts ages, and smells lovely.

TeenTitan007 · 30/04/2021 08:33

Molton brown. Expensive, but so worth it. Can feel the difference if I substitute with any other cream even a single night.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 30/04/2021 08:36

The most effective way to use any hand moisturiser is to put it on last thing at night and wear cotton gloves overnight. I'm an HCP and washing my hands constantly- the gloves thing works and has the added bonus of freaking out DH Wink

FizzyApricot · 30/04/2021 08:39

L'Occitane do a shea butter intensive one in a cream tube. Slather your hands in it with cotton gloves on at night. It's amazing.

FizzyApricot · 30/04/2021 08:40

With the L'Occitane they also sell a key thing to help wind the tube down so you can get all of it out. Worth it if you use it regularly.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 30/04/2021 08:44

Working hands! Fixed dds hands within a week.

ThreeKneeRepeater · 30/04/2021 08:45

The best one I’ve used is the Kamille Hand Cream with Glycerine, usually found in Home Bargains for next to nothing. I used to get my OH to buy it when he went to Germany on business, it’s that good.
I prefer it to L’Occitane.

Atrixo intensive - the green one. £4 for a big tub. Just as good as the really expensive ones already mentioned.

RoseMartha · 30/04/2021 08:58

Garnier handrepair

Jumpingintosummer · 30/04/2021 10:09

I keep Jo Malone hand cream in every handbag, my bedside table and car. Nourishing and smells amazing.

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 30/04/2021 10:19

Some one mentioned up thread about Kamille Hand Cream I too used to buy loads in the Muller drug store in Germany, cheap as chips and really good, but I would not say for very dry hands. Also saw in Home Bargains this week for 99p, its in the older design of tube, its been revamped since with new packaging.

MadisonMontgomery · 30/04/2021 11:22

Atrixo in the green tub. Just as good as any more expensive ones I’ve found!
