Hello again Toasties !!
Here we are again ..Spring has definitely sprung.. and here we are leaving lockdown again (hopefully for the last time) and with any luck planning some social opportunities to wear our lovely stuff actually out somewhere !!

Thank you so much for the feedback. I think I might give the Tala a go.

@MrsCat1, I have just looked at the skirting, there are two wide but flat pleats at the front and the same at the back. This means that the skirt sits quite flat but without emphasising the tummy: flattering overall I would say but do size down unless you are on the cusp of a larger size (and even then it might be too big).

and with the right size, it looks good with or without the belt. Also, the neckkline ie boatneck is flattering in that the shoulders come to the edge of your shoulder: much more flattering for me than a vest type top.

Well, I went into the Edinburgh store today with my return that I am afraid to do by post, and despite it saying on the website that they would refund directly in store, they can’t do it yet. All they can do is send it back for you. Grrrrrrrr. So I am off to the post office and crossing my fingers that they have worked through their backlog. They did tell me that they have doubled the number of customer service staff since last week, so are hopefully getting through things quicker.

Well I've succumbed to temptation and have ordered the Tala dress in blue (from Toast, out of stock in my size in JL). Hope it arrives quickly! And maybe I am too old for it....? But in the hope of hot sunny days ahead.
I have FINALLY had the refunds on the returned dress and the non-despatched dress. I will report back on current customer service etc.

Ooh, also, I think it was you @Laska2Meryls that said you would be interested in a skirt in the red & black check fabric of the new dress on the John Lewis website. They must have heard you, as they had one in store. Fitted waist, white buttons down the front, very nice. They said their latest collection would be online this week or next. They had some other nice new things too.

AuldFox thank you, perhaps I am deluding myself though. My dd usually is a good (and kind) judge of the mutton dressed as lamb dilemma, but she's abroad for now. Perhaps I'll be brave a post a picture!

neveradullmoment99, the hemp dress/pinafore has arrived from JL in a 10 and 12. There isn't a huge difference in the two sizes i don't think. The 10 fitted but I felt was just a bit too snug around the arms. I could have got away with it if I hadn't planned to also style it with a teeshirt which I think warrants the bigger size. I am busty though and otherwise would have kept the 10. Luckily the 12 didn't seem too proportionately bigger as it flared out from below the bust. it will be a good look with a linen Toast teeshirt and birkenstocks

This prompted me to go to my local JL and try it on.
I hated how it was styled in the video with nothing underneath and the bloody woolly socks and sandals.
Tried on the 12 and there was enough room to put a long sleeve tshirt.
The fabric is very heavy and it seems very out of season but will wear it with a recent knit, a lovely soft grey alpaca cropped jumper and tights/boots.
I tried the Tala dress on in blue .
Im a size 12 in " normal" clothes often a 10 in Toast dresses and a 10 in this was an ok fit but on the loose size which is fine by me.
Lovely dress and I saw the Sage is back in stock so Ive ordered it from Toast gulp

Also tried on the Indigo Twill open neck dress in a size which was really unflattering and huge.
I wont be buying anything unless I can try it on - some very angry reviews on Instagram atm.

@Templetreebalm, two good choices with the Tala and the hemp dresses. The hemp dress is indeed heavy but I can see myself wearing it on its own in the summer in later evenings if outside.

😳 its a classic style ! No idea how old you are but it wouldnt even have crossed my mind that anyone would be too old, theres no such thing!

@Templetreebalm Just went to Toast’s Instagram so many very angry people, some of them sound like they are at their absolute wit’s end. I’ve felt like this about terrible customer service a couple of times but directed at Virgin Media and Vodafone - never thought it would happen with Toast! I would imagine someone’s job will be on the line, not good at all.

It is awful still. They seriously need to do something.
I read about a person that received an item with dog hairs all over it!
I have been tempted to order stuff and then go on there and honestly remind myself why I can't. Nothing seems resolved.

They seem to have got themselves in a right pickle.

Its really shocking stuff!
Cant blame them at all this is not good enough.
I wonder if they have " streamlined" the business aka cost cutting and this is the result?
I wont be taking a punt on things, if I cant try it on, to decide on size/ look then I wont be ordering.

Did anyone else get a 15% off code as an apology for the terrible service? I should have binned the email straight away, but instead I have left it calling to me from my inbox. It runs out on Friday, and they have the jacket I was after back in stock (not on JL or in my local Toast...though think the discount couldn’t be used there anyway). I really shouldn’t though.
Anyone any good news to share on speedy delivery & returns in the last week?
