I returned an order worth £165 on Tuesday and got a just received an email notification of my refund today so hopefully Toast are sorting out their teething troubles. I paid via PayPal and the notification is from them rather than Toast themselves.

I've just received my refund notification for a return I only took to the Post Office on Tuesday. I am relieved since I live about 3 hrs from a Toast shop & JL don't always have what I'm after. Going to try and hold out until the summer sale now. I am sorry some of you have had such trouble, it does take the shine off the brand a bit.

Bimblesalong · 23/04/2021 22:08

I sent a garment back on Sat and has an email today to say the refund is being processed. Fingers crossed.

The tala in the green is lovely. I’m 5’10” and at last a dress that’s a decent length - mid calf. It may need taking up if you are more petite. It was huge on me and I had to size down.

Laska2Meryls · 24/04/2021 08:15

Well I am glad that they seem to have fixed it, but still angry that it took so long for them to deal with when they obviously have dealt with later ones before the earliest..

Yes I would be pissed off in your shoes too, Laska. I think it might be fairly standard after a website malfunction to get everything running smoothly for ongoing trade & then go back to deal with the orders that got snarled up on a specific date. (That's what happened where I used to work anyway). But it should therefore be easy for a smart company to identify the customers they've let down & compensate them with a voucher/discount code to keep their custom.

ScottishMouse · 24/04/2021 11:36

Sounds like maybe they are getting back on top of things. Fingers crossed. I have two tops to return still, but I’ll be taking them to a store instead of risking the online returns process for a while yet.

ilovecherries · 24/04/2021 11:44

I’m the Toast poster child today. Wearing a Kala checked dress from last year over a white embroidered voile shirt from the year before and navy barrel leg trousers from a charity shop in the Before Times. I think they cost £4.50 and are one of my best charity shop finds. Tevas on my feet and seriously considering if I am brave enough to add socks, completing the Toast vibe and protecting my princess feet.

dudsville · 24/04/2021 11:45

I ordered two things, sent one back straight away. According to tracking they recieved it on the 7th. I emailed them twice about it and never had a response or anything acknowledging they recieved it. I held on to the other item for a couple of weeks but then decided to return it too. I didn't receive an email notification but I was refunded for both in the same transaction yesterday, so a 17 day turnaround from the date the received my first return.

It was good to get the email apology yesterday explaining things. I must say I was anxious given that the new return style means the only way of identifying the order and who to refund is on those generated return labels - I worried my items were unpackaged on a heap somewhere. I can easily let go of the irritation now and wish them well under the hope/assumption that they have fixed the problem now.

dudsville · 24/04/2021 11:48

And I shall be wearing these to a garden lunch today - at least I think it's these, mine are a lot baggier and cropped.

ScottishMouse · 24/04/2021 12:13

I am wearing socks and saltwater sandals today @ilovecherries. Go for it! My feet feel very free after months of winter boots, but still toasty.

applecatchers36 · 24/04/2021 12:55

Sorry to hear of ongoing delays and patchy service. Still not feeling confident about ordering from online ATM. But am enjoying my existing Toast clothes. We went out to an actual restaurant and wore one of last summer's toast skirts, love the print. They had heaters so wasn't cold.

Beautiful skirt @applecatchers36!

I just popped in to tell you about the lovely skirt I ordered - not toast, but the same vibe - and I am breaking my only buy things with pockets rule because it's so nice - here: JW Anderson

really flattering, so easy to wear and it hangs beautifully

NoCureForLove · 24/04/2021 15:38

You look great Apple. Love the print on you. I'm wearing a Toast t shirt in that same bright yellow today- instantly cheering!

Loke the design of the Uniqlo skirt but can't quite imagine what the fabric is like? And no pockets ShockShockShock

faustina · 24/04/2021 16:45

@NoCureForLove - it's quite drapey - not flimsy at all! doesn't feel synthetic - honestly, worth the no pockets

ToastCosILoveIt · 24/04/2021 20:23

I have been to the Hampstead shop and I am reporting back to my fellow Toasties.

Firstly, they seemed to have almost nothing in store above a 10: some things but very few. Lots of the things I wanted to try for sizing simply weren't available.

I tried the Kala dress in a 12 (pesto colour) and it was huge on me even though I am a Toast 12 generally (sometimes a 10). They didn't have a 10 for me to try on and the pesto colour is all but sold out on the website. They were able to tell me which London shops had it in a 10 and I have ordered it from the Mayfair store to be delivered via DPD for £4.95.

I also tried on the Textured Check Cotton Dress - generously sized but the cut made it fine for me in a medium. Two things to note: a) it needs a nude slip under it as it is very diaphanous. b) Also, the neckline finishes fairly low and it doesnt button up to the neckline. I want to buy it but would get a popstud or a hook to as your cleavage is likly to be on show if wearing it. I don't think it is hugely revealing but just something to consider. I would love it for hot days in UK or when abroad, lovely dress.

I bought two things (even though I said I wouldn't and also have a friends 15% code to use online) - the Oxford dress in in Olive Oil. As reveiws have said, this comes up huge: they did have the 12 which I tried but i had to downsize to a 10 and probably could have gone down to an 8. It is a lovely fit on top but waist very low and lots of room below the waist. I also bought the brown leather belt in a large - can tighten a few notches in but (they didnt have any other size in store), wonder if the smaller size would have been less adaptable (might want it to cinch with it for a coat too).

I saw the Sleeveless Gathered Dress in store in the Navy: it looked fab but it's a silky material so i didn't try it on as worried about grease marks ( I am a messy eater)!

I tried on the Brushstroke Print Dress - true/generous in sizing, I liiked it but colouring and style not so much my thing. the 'tuliped shape' skirt adds width although its weight means it isnt too unflattering. It is hard to describe but it does add a bit of volume below the waist. It glistened and glowed in the lighting and is one for the sale for me.

I tried on the Lotus Floral nightie: they only had a small but that fitted fine: might want to size up to allow tossing and turning in bed. I am duie for major abdominal surgery shortly so looking for some nice nightdresses.

Finally, i love the Steve Mono Artisano Sandals. They are very marmite: you will love or hate them. i had to size up to a 6 (from a 5) but I have a dodgy left foot which means I now need a 6 even though I am a 5. They are simply lovely if you like that style: I would buy them in a heartbeat if they were a bit cheaper or I was a bit richer: I may well still buy them as an investment.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/04/2021 23:07

Great reviews @ToastCosILoveIt
I too have the oxford dress. I got it in a size 8 in the burgundy colour. Its really beautiful. Not worn it yet!

neveradullmoment99 · 24/04/2021 23:08

I also bought the hemp dress from John lewis. I had to size down to a 10 in that too. Beautiful dress. Not worn either yet.

ToastCosILoveIt · 25/04/2021 08:19

@neveradullmoment99, you're a bad influence: that hemp dress looks lovely on the instagram video and it was in shop but I didn't try it on. I see the black is almost sold out on the Toast website so I have ordered the 10 and the 12 from John Lewis (got the last 10 and only 3 12s left on JL now)..

NoCureForLove · 25/04/2021 11:06

The one with the square neckline and tiers? Does look nice...

ToastCosILoveIt · 25/04/2021 12:07

Yes, the henp one with the square neck and tiers. Looks good on the styling video but will see when it arrives, and if it is adaptable to wear a teeshirt under.

faustina · 25/04/2021 15:39

@ToastCosILoveIt - I bought that belt too. the only thing I've bought form Toast for a while. It's just very quietly perfect in every way - the last one I had from there lasted for about ten years

NoCureForLove · 25/04/2021 16:39

I wish they made that belt in navy. Don't like black with denim and not a brown fan either...
