Hello again Toasties !!
Here we are again ..Spring has definitely sprung.. and here we are leaving lockdown again (hopefully for the last time) and with any luck planning some social opportunities to wear our lovely stuff actually out somewhere !!

John lewis have put the sale items on Toast back up to full price! What is going on?

So they have. So pleased I snagged the brushstroke dress for £110 before they did it!

I wore the Brushstroke dress to a wedding yesterday with a fascinator and high heels. The wedding was resistrry office and private dining room in a lovely pub so smart but not too formal. I got so many complements and a couple of women asking me where I had bought it from. I had a few choices to wear including a silk Marimekko dress I got in the sale at the end of last summer and an Orla Kiely dress but DH said that the brushstroke dress looked very "designer" like with the tulip skirt. It was really comfy to wear too.

Oh dear, the problems with Toast continue... I've just received an order confirmation email, saying my order is now on the way... happily, the order arrived more than a week ago...

I had the same this afternoon, for two orders that arrived on Monday!

Charmingly weird, or just weird? My dd thinks is ‘great for London but here everyone will be side-eyeing you and going wtf’ DH says ‘it’s fine’. Mum thinks it’s very odd. Size 12, toast told me to size up in this but I don’t think that’s wise, the top is massive.

Also a 12, should have sized down. But oh so comfy.

Finally...I have this in a different colour from two years ago and wore it loads. Size 12 again.

Re the Placed Check Dress, I think it looks a bit big on you. I am wearing it today (bought it full price but 15% off a while back) and had a complement from a friend I met for brunch who asked me where it was from. Cann you pull it in a bit more via the waist tie? I am a 12 and mine is a size 12 - I could probably have sized down to a 10: as you say, the top is roomy but I pull it in with the tie. I live in London if that makes a difference .

I love the checked dress @ilovecherries but it does look too big for you! I’ve also got that last dress in the two colours from two years ago, they get worn a lot.

I have the olive oil colour in a 10 and even that is a bit big. I would have loved the burgundy in an 8 or 10 but sold out everywhere.

@ToastCosILoveIt - I just ordered that today! How bright is the olive oil colour? I sent back a dark red one in a size 8 to JL the other day - it fitted really well but the colour didn't suit me

@faustina, i would say it is a muted mustard: not bright but not dull, a lovely shade. I haven't actually worn it yet although I bought it a few weeks ago.

I will look out for the returned 8 in red!

It's one of my favourite colours - really can't wait!

I’ve indulged slightly in the sale (I need those endorphins after my bereavement) but my highlight of the sale is the Ono leaf print dress, for £60 from the Toast site; it is simply gorgeous, the fabric quality and the print are lovely, not too garish at all. Conversely, I’m very disappointed (and I’m incredibly easily pleased) by the cotton boat neck striped tee, only reduced to £42; it’s skimpy and boring and the colours are too muted.
