@applecatchers36 That looks super trendy! Would suit a vintage hairstyle and heels for evening!

clearsky · 04/05/2021 18:32

@applecatchers36 that dress looks lovely on you!

applecatchers36 · 04/05/2021 19:13

Thanks ladies am appreciating the styling ideas of vintage hairstyle (..victory rolls?) and heels , had only got as far as my Birkenstocks 😂

I love this thread. Found myself in Hampstead on Monday for reasons unrelated to Toast but of course had to try on a couple of things. As you all have said, Toast's skirts are for pearshapes not apples. I tried on the Indigo Denim Pleat Skirt in a 10:: too small on the waist but the hips would have been huge in a 12. i wanted to try on the Indigo Denim Trousers in a 12: they mistakenly bought me a 10 in the Indigo Denim Pleated trousers. I would never have tried them in a million years but they had looked good albeit I could do them up but couldn't sit down in them, definitely needed a 12.

I resolved not to buy anything because of how awful their customer services are: however, I tried on the Cotton Poplin Ruffle Top in blue grey. The 12 was unflattering (I am a High Street busty 12) so I sized down to a 10 and I liked it so much I bought it. I also tried it on in the taupe but it did nothing for my blonder, pale, blue eyed colouring.

Tis dangerous going into a Toast shop isn’t it? Grin Hope you get some nice weather for your lovely new top!

I agree about the pear shape. I don’t fit the toast size guide measurements. My hips are size 8 but my waist is size 10 (27/36in) which is opposite way to most of their clothes. I’m short and can’t really wear things with lots of volume on the hips without looking like a pre-war peasant grandmother (and not in a good way!)

Saurus72 · 04/05/2021 22:09

@ToastCosILoveIt oh you lucky thing, the Hampstead store is lovely. I think the Toast shops are the way forward, way less hassle (even in the old days of prompt deliveries/returns) than trying to guesstimate sizes. Plus you can see all of the pieces in their glory (or not). Can’t wait to go!

Saurus72 · 04/05/2021 22:11

Oh also, forgot to add, I really want to stood idly flicking through clothes websites all the time. So shopping IRL might (maybe Hmm) help with that.

Templetreebalm · 04/05/2021 22:14

The missing belt for the green Tala dress arrived today -surprised tbh.

Im a pear and find the waists on Toast skirts and trousers fit me really well.
I usually end up with a good fit on the hips/ bum and a hugely gaping waistband in other brands.
I looked at the denim panelled skirt today and its incredibly heavy which put me off.

I am a pear with a tummy!! They are awful on me! Far far too tight on the waist.
neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2021 22:28

Then sizing up on the waist means space at the hips despite me having hips.

AuldFox · 05/05/2021 12:03

Yup. Sizing up at the waist also means a skirt/trouser sits lower on the body and is then too long for a shortie like me Sad

@Toast1997

Please could garment measurements be put on your website?
It would help hugely with size selection.
Thank you

Hello? Toast on this thread?

Laska2Meryls · 05/05/2021 15:39

Here are the Thought Hemp cullottes that I ordered. They come up big.. this is the 10 ( I have already sized down once!) I reckon that I could go down again, but I do like them. Really nice fabric weight and quality..

@Toast1997
Hi - would you also like to discuss my unanswered emails re my Toast Kindred membership?

SmaugMum · 05/05/2021 18:27

Signing back in after a self-enforced period of Toast abstention. I’m delighted to see @Toast1997 on this thread; welcome!

AuldFox · 05/05/2021 18:30

laska so the 10 fits in the culottes but you had to size up to 14 for the skirt? That’s madness.

Toast1997 you really must put full garment measurements on your website, your sizing is off the scale ridiculous!

Laska2Meryls · 05/05/2021 18:56

Auldfox They are Thought Cullottes, not Toast.. BUT I often have to take XS in Toast cullottes also! ( The ones without fixed waist) its their fixed waists that dont work for me sadly.. But yeas its mad sizing! That striped jumper I gave on inthe above photo is Toast and I had to have XL !! ( My Mira jumpers are M ) 🤔🤷‍♀️

faustina · 05/05/2021 19:04

@Laska2Meryls - that jumper is lovely! Which one is it?

@Toast1997 - very pleased to see you on this thread!

yesbutnobut · 05/05/2021 20:24

@applecatchers36 the dress looks fab!!

If it's any consolation for those who can't get to Toast stores in person, I find they don't often have everything in stock. It's very frustrating when you've made a special trip there and they don't have certain styles, sizes or colours.

doorornottodoor · 05/05/2021 20:24

Pihu dress and skirts arriving tomorrow!

Just to say, if anyone likes the Thought cullottes and is thinking of ordering.. I received my refund for the pair I sent back within 5 days ( inc the bank holiday! ).
Faustina the jumper is linen striped half sleeve . It comes up small though according to reviews and I did have to size up to get the slouchy look
