Like @Templetreebalm I use a credit card for purchases. I think it’s possibly safer.
@yesbutnobut I think the second hand stuff is Toast Circle, not sure if anyone has used it. Think someone posted that they had. I think you have to bring something to be able to get something in exchange.
Great to see the things in person @MrsCat1 but a bit annoying about the lack of sizes and having only one fitting room in operation.

Gonegrey31 · 03/05/2021 09:38

I chased up my order (Tala dress) on the online chat service yesterday, having heard nothing since I placed an order a week ago. I'm a bit concerned as my size is now shown as out of stock online.
I was told that the dress I had ordered "has been allocated to you" and will be sent "in due course". I was offered a refund there and then if I wanted. However, said that I would wait for a bit longer....

Just for the information of everyone else. There clearly still are issues with stock availability/despatch.

ScottishMouse · 03/05/2021 10:27

@Gonegrey31, that is what happened to the items I didn’t receive in my last order, that they had been allocated to me and would be sent when available. But they couldn’t give me any indication of when that might be. Which then led to the issues I had getting them refunded, so good to hear that they offered you a refund straight away. Still, not so good that they are still letting this happen. Hopefully new stock of your dress will arrive soon and you get it shortly.

Laska2Meryls · 03/05/2021 11:00

Oh gawd.. Dare I order the Pihu skirt then? I had pretty much decided to earlier..

OP posts:
MrsCat1 · 03/05/2021 12:35

@Laska2Meryls The Pihu skirt was in the Bath shop. It did look very nice....

Laska2Meryls · 03/05/2021 13:58

I just spoke to Toast online to check waist measurement of the skirt ( it comes up small) . They tell me that they are still experiencing delays with refunds ... ( No offer of code!) Ill wait to order I think...

AuldFox · 03/05/2021 14:03

Laska, if you asked about the waist measurement of the size 10 Pihu skirt, would you mind sharing it with me? Thanks!

Laska2Meryls · 03/05/2021 14:13

No it was the 14 which is 43cm .. id need that sadly 😔

OP posts:
AuldFox · 03/05/2021 22:00

Thanks Laska, that still helps with gauging their waist measurements as a whole!

Laska2Meryls · 04/05/2021 09:17

I think that they do make their skirts for traditional hourglass figures.. I remember trying the Anni skirt last year and it was so fitted in the waist that I needed to go 2 size up but then really big on the hips.. I have a feeling the Pihu will be the same sadly.. Or maybe I should just not try skirts like that.. I am a bit over my usual weight atm but the check wool skirt I bought last autumn in 14 still fits fine.. bit then thats bit the really gathered shape on the hips.. Anyway one can but see...

OP posts:
Countmeout · 04/05/2021 09:44

I don’t suit a gathered skirt @Laska2Meryls as I am bigger on top (never mind any waist issues) . Straight works slightly better for me but I prefer a dress.
I have taken the plunge as the Tala I wanted was sold out on either side of my size and I feared I might miss the boat. Will report on how it goes. Not holding my breath.

Laska2Meryls · 04/05/2021 09:49

Green or blue Countmeout? I like the green...

OP posts:
Countmeout · 04/05/2021 10:03

Green @Laska2Meryls. If John Lewis had had the green I would have ordered it from there.

Laska2Meryls · 04/05/2021 10:08

Its lovely Countmeout 🤞 it fits .

doorornottodoor · 04/05/2021 10:15

@Laska2Meryls why not try the dress? It’s very lovely too!

ScottishMouse · 04/05/2021 11:12

Well, this is funny. And somewhat unbelievable. I have just received aN unexpected Toast parcel in the post! It is the two jackets from my last order that were never sent because they went out of stock. The ones I spent hours online trying to get a refund for. Which I did. I will obviously send them back with a note that says that they have already been refunded. But I am slightly worried about what sort of hassle that will involve!

ScottishMouse · 04/05/2021 11:16

Of course, because the items were cancelled, when I go to the online returns form, I can no longer return them and get a returns label for them. Honestly, where is the nearest wall that I can hit my head against?

Gonegrey31 · 04/05/2021 11:40

ScottishMouse that is exactly what happened to me! I cancelled an order because of the interminable time I had been waiting. All confirmed by Toast (but on their chat line, this may be relevant). Two days later the unwanted item turned up. I did get a refund eventually, but because the item was no longer on my "Order History" I had such trouble getting a returns label etc.

Just record everything, maybe return items with a tracked system?

ScottishMouse · 04/05/2021 11:53

@Gonegrey31, I’m thinking I might bring them back to the store, see if I speak to an actual person face to face that makes it easier. Though I am not going to do it until I get the refund for the top from the same order that they have to check the weight of my parcel to see if I actually returned! Honestly, so much nonsense over one order, it’s just crazy.

applecatchers36 · 04/05/2021 13:04

Just seems to go from bad to worse! Cements my feelings about avoiding toast online ATM.

Had some joy with JL the Pihu dress arrived & it's a keeper. Maybe give it a whirl Laska at least you can return reasonably easily with JL?

ScottishMouse · 04/05/2021 13:24

@applecatchers36, that is so lovely! Could you tell me about sizing? I am usually a 10 in Toast tops and dresses, but had to order two dresses in a 12 last year - the chalkboard check shirt dress (black with a light brown check, also came in yellow) and the blue chambray short sleeved shirt dress which is still online. I wonder if this one is also a bit neat on the bust/shoulders as it’s a shirt dress style (although not the same as the ones I mentioned).

Countmeout · 04/05/2021 13:33

Looks really lovely @applecatchers36

applecatchers36 · 04/05/2021 13:40

Thanks Count

Scottishmouse It is neat on shoulders/ bust so maybe size up but if you order with JL perhaps get 10 and 12?

Last couple of dresses have ordered an 8 and for pull on trousers like Gabi am an 8 but because of the nipped in waist the last skirt I ordered was a 10 for a comfortable fit. Very peculiar sizing Confused

AmethystMoonShine · 04/05/2021 13:42

Love that dress on you @applecatchers36. I really like the black & red but know it won’t suit me... lovely to see you in it though.

ScottishMouse · 04/05/2021 13:57

Thanks @applecatchers36! Enjoy wearing it!
