Crickey! If it was just the flouncy top maybe..... But it's too much as a whole dress. If it doesn't look amazing on the model it certainly won't on us mere mortals.

doadeer · 10/03/2021 16:59

@PickAChew

It's something you'd see on women of any age, sitting near a puddle of puke in the Bigg Market.
Hahahaha I feel like this will be lost on so many who haven't experienced the delights of the bigg market

I did look for a better quality version, if you reverse image search a few more expensive (better quality)? ones come up too :)

It’s not my style but if you like it you wouldn’t look out of place at 37. Really life is too short wear whatever you like.

MummytoCSJH · 10/03/2021 22:08

@hopefulquitter

I actually did reverse image search myself but there were no results. Strange! Thanks so much :)

@Frogartist awh I don’t think we’ve been mean to the op. We’ve maybe given some cheeky responses but I was just doing some gentle robbing the way my friends and I would do over our questionable fashion choices Grin the OP seems to have a sense of humour. When someone asks advice on here it’s usually so they look good. That’s the point. I’d hate to ask on here, get people telling me to go for it then get funny looks at me in the street or something.

TaraR2020 · 10/03/2021 23:49

As long as it makes you feel good, op, who cares what mumsnetters think?

EstellaHanclay · 10/03/2021 23:59

I love it! Especially if you're quite tall and slim. Team it with a fab pair of heels and non fussy hair left out. I would lose the necklace though.

sockdraw · 11/03/2021 00:10

At any age in that dress you’d be having an episode.Remember Elderado ? - even their costume department would say no. BUT I do agree that there is joy in people expressing themselves through clothes so if you love it, go for it and spread joy.

Jacky86 · 11/03/2021 00:49

Not to my taste but if you like it get it. Might be ok with flip flops on a beach abroad or if wearing here toned down with black tights and a jacket.

ConcernedLandlord · 11/03/2021 06:20

FWIW, I'm not offended or upset and I'm very aware of my terrible taste in clothes! Tne only replies I've not liked are the 'is this a joke' types as I don't believe anyone could think truly that I posted it as a joke, so for that reason I think that is being ignorant on purpose but again, I'd not become offended at strangers opinions.. I have really smiled at some of these replies!Smile I still like the dress

No, not mean to the .OP! Mean toward other cultures,

whatswithtodaytoday · 11/03/2021 08:35

I love the colours but not the dress. How about something similar?

WildCherryBlossom · 11/03/2021 09:53

I love dresses! I wouldn't wear that exact one personally. Red and Black really don't suit me, I prefer natural fibres (oh and I'm carrying lockdown pounds). But if the colour and shape would work on you and it will make you happy, go for it!

Octopus37 · 11/03/2021 14:08

For what its worth, I love it and could be tempted myself. I am 46 and love clothes that are a bit out there. Life is too short and it doesn't break the bank

Notanotherhun · 11/03/2021 14:17

That is nasty. It looks really porny.

Ohgoodness34 · 11/03/2021 15:00

Dorian, Birds of a Feather springs to mind.. i say go for whatever makes you happy OP! Who cares what anyone thinks?

HouseofWindsor · 11/03/2021 19:54

Yes ! Ideal for first day back in office post COVID Grin

Builtthiscityontoiletrolls · 11/03/2021 22:53

Well it does look a bit like these things a fortune teller looks good in her fortune teller gear but if a random person walked down the street in that stuff you’d raise an eyebrow. Flamenco dancers look amazing. But if you wore a flamenco outfit in Asda, again funny looks.

Ingridla · 11/03/2021 23:07

@RidingOn

Buy it but keep it to wear on your 80th birthday.
this, definitely! GrinGrinGrin
Nightbear · 11/03/2021 23:10

You’d have to stay very still. Any movement and the static could turn it into a fireball.

Ingridla · 11/03/2021 23:11

one of the worst dresses I've ever seen & I sold Versace in the 90s

Ingridla · 11/03/2021 23:14

I hope the op is Kate Middleton

cerseii · 11/03/2021 23:18

Under 25 and wouldn’t wear it because of the print. But the bardot shape is lovely - I remember the same dress in solid black or white being popular in like 2016/17. Everyone my age was wearing it or a top like that, the dress silhouette is fine.

You can wear it at any age btw. When I turn 25 I’m definitely still wearing all the things I do now

cerseii · 11/03/2021 23:23

Tbh the entire styling of the model screams 2017 to me, the choker, the high leg boots, the Bardot neckline…
