Hi everyone

Has no one seen the last photo of me in the red dress which clearly shows a FAT belly?

The problem with shorts is they don't do up thanks to my big belly

I've seen a thread before with you in that red dress. The fabric looks a bit thin and cheap and your posture isn't helping, but as a day dress in the summer for going about your business, it's fine.

I think you need to just accept that nobody will ever really notice/care on a day to day basis, and the worrying/obsessing you're repeatedly doing on here is maybe a bit unhealthy.

We wear/choose clothes for so many reasons, and it really doesn't all need to be about whether our stomachs look big or not.

Treat yourself to some nice new underwear and it could make a big difference to how you feel. And step away from the mirror/camera for a bit!

pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 12:11

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie of course it matters if my stomach looks huge compared to the rest of me. I do actually take pride in my appearance hence why I'm on here for tips advice etc

You've lovely slim arms and legs, just get fitted clothes, well fitted bra and some Spanx. I would also suggest maybe yoga or pilates to help pull you up a bit posture wise. I'd love those slim legsEnvy

Honestly if you take that much pride in your appearance tidy up your hair, tidy up your house and stop posting these ridiculous photos. It's weird.

Elephant75 · 07/03/2021 12:25

I've also seen the OP in a previous thread posting pictures of herself.

pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 12:26

@kereh I really don't care what u think and ur the only one being rude on this thread so maybe just leave please

I remember once asking my mum if my hips looked big and something and she said 'Yes, because you have big hips'. Which is totally true. Sometimes, I think it's quite liberating to just own it. My thighs are always going to be chunky - they were even when I was technically underweight. Nothing is going to change that. There are more flattering outfits and less flattering outfits, of course, and things I feel better and worse in but my underlying body shape is not going to be changed by anything I wear.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/03/2021 12:33

Of course it matters...I take pride in my appearance

I'm not asking you to stop caring entirely! But I do think you need to step away from it all a bit. Good undies, a couple of dresses you like and that make you feel okay. Job done.

DuchessAnnogovia · 07/03/2021 12:38

Your figure is fine, your taste in clothes is a bit dubious. Invest in some decent underwear, good fitting bra, some round it up and hold it in knickers etc. Skater style dresses would suit you IMO. You can dress them up and wear wedgies/heels and wear with trainers too. Ditch the pink tights 😁

Thinkivepulledsommat · 07/03/2021 13:05

I agree that a new bra and some good high waisted jeans will make a lot of difference.
But I think (in all honesty) the single thing you can do that will improve your confidence is to lose your belly fat. The rest of you is good!

Your baby is only 7 months obviously so it will improve in time, but I absolutely wouldn’t do sit ups. They don’t work and make you feel crap. Losing belly fat is 90% done through diet. I don’t know what you eat, but I think it would help to get away from the thought of ‘naughty’ days and ‘good’ days. Just reduce (and then cut out) refined carbs and avoid alcohol and you’ll see a massive difference.
No sit ups!

justilou1 · 07/03/2021 13:13

Tbh, I’m jealous of your legs. They’re fabulous! You’ve just got a post-baby belly which has undoubtedly been difficult to shift with lockdown and a toddler, and winter, etc. I think you look better in less murky colours than that last green (sorry I couldn’t find a more uplifting description). I think that everyone’s right about patterns emphasizing the bits you don’t like. I lost 60kgs and have been left with a bit of saggy skin on my lower belly. I dress to hide it, too. I’m a big fan of high-waisted jeans, but something I recommend is buying jeans that have either no spandex or Lycra or just the tiniest percentage. (SUPER firm!) To get a good, comfy fit across the crotch and tummy you may have to go up a size or even two, but it’s worth it because they won’t stretch out during the day, they retain the shape wash after wash, and they suck in your tummy!!! I have had really good luck with Uniqlo jeans, but I am pretty short (and here in Aus they tailor the leg length for free.)

pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 13:22

Sorry for another bed pic but it's all I can manage for now and I wanted to post it as I tried on this summer dress which fits well I think but in my opinion it makes my whole hips and bum area look huge? Or am I paranoid?

Not really sure what you are hoping to achieve, this thread is quite bizarre. You seem to be ignoring the decent styling advice many posters are giving and just posting picture after picture of yourself with miserable captions. You will either get:

a) comments that confirm your insecurities and make you feel worse
b) comments complimenting you that you will dismiss as people just being nice.

Either way you aren't getting anywhere.

pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 13:36

Yes I am I'm getting lots of good advice and tips actually

OP posts:
KirstenBlest · 07/03/2021 13:37

Not RTFT.

The photo is taken at an unflattering angle so your boobs look bigger and your legs shorter than they are.
Your outfit isn't the most flattering, a shorter to would look better with the long cardigan.
You could benefit from a more supportive bra.
You have slim and shapely legs.

You probably look a damn sight better than you think you do.

RosieRoww · 07/03/2021 13:38

I would suggest to get a better support bra, maybe a little different cut of dress- wrap dress perhaps?
And try some more fitted waist blazer, denim jacket.

pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 13:40

Thanks as soon as the shops are open I'm going on the hunt fir a denim jacket

The black and white dress you posted at 12.00 is great, the striped dress at 13.22 is fine but I would wear without tights and with white trainers.

For full honestly, the red dress is not flattering, you look pregnant. Not sure how post partum is was? It doesn’t mean you are fat etc but just that that style doesn’t suit your figure.

I know you didn’t ask for this but I also think you look much younger with lighter hair (such as the red dress), brightens your face lovely.

KirstenBlest · 07/03/2021 13:46

I've now seen your photos and you look nice in the dresses.
You have the potential to have a stunning figure but you are carrying a bit of extra weight around your midriff that's all.

pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 13:48

@RunningFromInsanity I'm not entirely sure with the red dress when it was, I think December so 4 months after the baby

With the summer dress I only had tights on as it's today's pic and I was just trying that on quickly

OP posts:
pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 13:49

@KirstenBlest yes I'm just itching to get rid of belly fat I hope I can manage it

Also to the lady before who said about lighter hair , I'm currently letting it grow out to natural then plan to put a lighter shade on just to cover my many greys

OP posts:
pinkandblueflowers · 07/03/2021 13:50

@KirstenBlest also what's so annoying is I have a pic of me 13 years ago with a cracking figure here you go
