Carrying on the great tradition of this thread - where those that are addicted to beauty products come together and support one another!

Used up a Holika Holika Strawberry sheet mask. Wanted something to waken me up this morning, it's just the cooling on my skin i love. Trying to use up more sheet masks.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray. Got this years ago in Feel Unique pick and mix! I use it when i curl my hair, and it takes down the frizz and makes them stay looking just done for longer. Was going to RP, but its £22. I rarely curl my hair, so will opt for a cheaper option!

ememem84 · 09/03/2021 21:40

Clinique charcoal city block mask 30ml gone. Really liked this. May repurchase once I’ve used up everything else.

ememem84 · 10/03/2021 09:13

La Roche posay lipomas baume ap+m 30ml gone. This was really nice actually and I might get some for dsis as she has dry skin. Superbly moisturising.

BookShark · 10/03/2021 10:05

Finished another Oskia Renaissance mask this morning (which was just replaced with one from the Space NK GWP - argh!) and then also a Clarins Body Tonic Oil. I found the oil a bit odd - it took a while to sink in, so not ideal for using post-shower if you've got to do the school run! Would have been better for a massage (which is probably what it was intended for, in fairness, it did say to massage it in from the ankles up).

I'm quite pleased with the Space NK GWP, as I genuinely only bought things I needed anyway, and I think I'll use most of what's in there, plus there are quite a few things I haven't tried before. Even if it was a slightly depressing moment when I added everything in to my spreadsheet yesterday and saw my totals going back up...!

QueenPaw · 10/03/2021 14:29

I have finished a full bottle of perfume! Yay
About to start on using up sample size perfumes next

Well done! I have such a stash of perfume samples, I keep meaning to go through and pass on any I don't actually like.
QueenPaw · 10/03/2021 16:37

@LivingDeadGirlUK my thought is they're motivating to use up as so small! Plus I have some with maybe 1/2 uses left

curiouscuriouscurious · 10/03/2021 21:38

Ooh first time I've caught one of these threads near the beginning. I feel like it might obliterate my bank balance 🙈

Routine
Am
CeraVe hydrating cleanser
Medik8 CTetra
The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin
LRP Cicaplast Baume
LRP Anthelios Invisible Fluid spf 50

Pm
The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser
CeraVe hydrating cleanser
Dermatica Tret .05, niacinamide, azelaic acid
LRP Cicaplast Baume

I used to be completely loyal to Elemis because it smelled great and felt luxurious but my skin was a mess! It wasn't until I bought a tonne of The Ordinary one Black Friday that my skin dramatically changed within the space of about six weeks. Since then I've chopped and changed a little.

Might still be a bit complicated but I enjoy it!

Latest purchases have been the Foreo Bear which I think has an affect if only by vibrating some life into my face at 5am. And the No7 led mask, too soon to tell if this is helping to but fingers crossed!

Just mix some yourself. It’s just salt water abd a smidge of oil I think....

Welcome @curiouscuriouscurious !!! The purpose of this thread is to help curb the addiction but tends to have the opposite effect

Used a Garnier green tea eye mask, felt nice and does have a good plumping / tightening effect on the crows feet.. I know it's only very temporary but it's nice now and then.
I always mean to make a list of things that people recommend on this thread, but I never remember!

Ponks · 11/03/2021 21:44

@curiouscuriouscurious I'm interested, do you use the cicaplast baume as an everyday moisturiser then? I use it when skin is very stressed/ sore.

curiouscuriouscurious · 11/03/2021 22:24

@Experiment627 🙈 Fail straight off the bat! Although knocking the Elemis on the head has saved a lot of money!

curiouscuriouscurious · 11/03/2021 22:34

@Ponks I had originally just been using it in the evening but randomly tried it in the morning, it made skin felt great and look better. I've been wearing respirators all day at work since the first lockdown so my face is probably appreciating the extra bit of attention. Surprisingly it layered well with my spf and doesn't seem to make me look greasy which was what I'd anticipated.

www.boots.com/revolution-hair-revplex-no3-bond-hair-perfector-100ml-10293604
Only £5.34 if anyone is wanting to give it ago. I think ill buy another 2 to have as back ups!🤔

Two empties.

Elemis Pro Collagen eye mask. My preference for eye products is a gel or a serum. Eye creams i dont mind. The texture of this is like a balm/ointment. While it is quite thick, it doesnt bring out milia around the eye. Hydrating, but thats all. Not much difference around my eye area tbh. Think this would be more suited to someone with really dry under eyes.

Patchology de-stress lip mask. Not sure lip masks really do anything. Feels nice and pampering doing them, and make your lips soft. Nothing a good lip balm cant do. Special occasions, yes. But who had them these days?!

How do you like the revolution plex compared to olaplex? I've just found olaplex and really pleased with the results, but always up for something cheaper! Thanks Smile
Caggie09 · 12/03/2021 15:19

For a cheaper alternative it is actually quite good! I like the results i get from it, and i loved how my hair felt after and it looked really healthy! I like both products, but i dont use them often enough, because i dont feel like i need to! I dont think it will give long term results as Olaplex might, but for a quick fix, i think its good. Its actually only £4.67 atm, so worth a try. I guess it also depends how damaged your hair is!

Whiffle77 · 12/03/2021 18:15

Thanks, I might try it out! My hair isn't too bad, its just long with ratty ends as it hasn't been cut since September. Bargain price Smile

justilou1 · 13/03/2021 08:09

I never win anything... ever. I went to a school function and won a tailored hair treatment package and $500 worth of Kerastase products to suit my needs. I went to the salon a week ago, and explained that I have a very sensitive scalp, etc. They used their high-tech, mobile doodad to look at my scalp (not irritated at the time) and my hair, and did an in-salon treatment, and sent me off with a giant bag of goodies. I followed up once at home, and now I have a hot, red, itchy rash all over my scalp and behind my ears. Devastated that this win has bitten me on the bum. DD1 is eyeing off the products and rubbing her paws together gleefully. (DD2 has same issues as me.) I’m going to return to the salon and see what they have to say first though. 😭😖😭

Babysharkdoodoodood · 13/03/2021 12:32

Yeay. Shiny new thread. A few empties. Clé de Peru sample of face cream. Super expensive normally but actually no different effect to my usual M&S day cream.
Guerlain double serum that I got for free to review. Really nice but also really expensive again.
Shower gel, that I got in the Pengaligon sale. Also had one in Blenheim Bouquet. Both nice but have so much shower gel to get through.

Caggie09 · 13/03/2021 16:00

@justilou1 oh gosh, hope it clears up soon. Hopefully the salon can give you some other products to help with it. What a shame though, you win something and it ends badly!

ememem84 · 13/03/2021 18:33

Clarins extra firming mask 15ml gone.

Used this up while the dc are having a bath.

endlesscraziness · 14/03/2021 00:49

@justilou1 that's awful! Sorry it ended up like that. I hope the salon can sort something better

I still haven't been organized enough to try the Revolution olaplex 🤦🏽‍♀️ I was really unwell last week so my skincare slipped, I managed as a minimum to put sunscreen on but that was about it.

Used up my 5th tube of Skin and Me. My skin oddly loves it but as the spots have gone, I've asked them to hold the tret at 0.015 to minimise irritation

Ponks · 14/03/2021 09:01

Finished Lumene Nordic C Glow Boost Essence, some sort of vitamin C serum. Nice glycerin-y feel but other than that no brightening etc, wouldn't repurchase.
Now using the No7 vitamin C serum which is unfortunately very similar to the Lumene.
