Carrying on the great tradition of this thread - where those that are addicted to beauty products come together and support one another!

Just reporting some empties/chucks:

  • MUA Undress your skin radiant under eye concealer: meh... nothing to write home about.
  • Collection fast stroke defining lash mascara: EPIC FAIL!!! This went everywhere!!!
  • Superdrug Vitamin E SPF 15 moisturing day cream: trademark lovely scent, a bit hard to get to go in but not bad given the price point
  • Dermatonics hard skin removing balm with sweet blosson aromas: this felt too lightweight to be doing much good... definitely preferred Flexitol.

Prai winkle repair cream finally gone. This hasn’t done much if I’m honest. And I hate the smell.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 22/03/2021 22:53

Just finished a Sephora primer. Not sure how much difference it made but as I got it in America, I can’t imagine I will be replacing it anytime soon.

Used a fenty primer today for the first time under my EL double wear foundation - nothing shifted all day.

FreshFaceTime · 23/03/2021 19:35

Oooooh I have my first contribution to the aim of the thread! I found an Armani Code body lotion that had come in a set with the perfume. Perfume long gone but lotion had been festering in the bottom of a box in the bathroom... finally used it up! Waahhooo!

Experiment627 · 23/03/2021 20:13

Started today 7ml strivectin supér c retinol brighten and correct vitamin c serum.

This came as a gwp from feelunique. Not a brand id heard of before. And never used a vit c retinol serum previously. Will see how we go.

CommanderBurnham · 23/03/2021 22:51

Empties!

Finished a full size Ritual shower foam. It was ritual of Dao and it was lovely. Might RP after I've used up other stuff.

Garnier sheet mask done. My face drunk this up. I have a Korean pack of 20 collagen masks to use up now. Shock

There is actually space between the bottles in my bathroom cabinet!

I'm saving my empties in the slight
hop that JL still do the five empties for a fiver deal.

justilou1 · 24/03/2021 00:01

Used up another tube of Retrieve Tretinoin Cream. Started a new one. The old one must have begun to oxidize as it was a leetle bit yellow. The new one seems stronger too. Wish there was an equivalent for my increasingly droopy eyelids, but I’m just not ready to stab my face. (Probs far too late anyway)

LivingDeadGirlUK · 24/03/2021 09:28

I've chucked an Elizabeth Arden mascara that's been open for 5 months now. I've started a travel size one I had in my stash as I just don't wear it that often in lockdown and it seems a waste to open a full size, although I still have another 3 full size (EA, Maybelline, and rimmel) in the stash.

I'm also chucking half a bottle of Loriel colour protect shampoo and the dregs of a Tresseme colour protect conditioner. As I don't like them anymore. I don't like waste but they have just sat there for 2 years now!

Experiment627 · 24/03/2021 11:13

Just two empties to report:

  • Snufflebabe: HG for both me and Kwicklet. Much prefer it to Olbas Oil and Vicks
  • Sanctuary Spa sleep mist: not a big fan of this... prefer pure lavender oil

Please can I join in?

I have been lurking these threads on and off for a few years. But I have finally got to admit my stash is beyond all reason. I had a rather large stash anyway but then I purposefully bought lots and lots more ready for Brexit and then Covid. Now I've just done a brief check of one of the bathroom cupboards and among many, many other things I have:
19 bottles of antiperspirant
29 tubes of toothpaste
12 bottles of shampoo and conditioner
19 bottles of shower gel
12 bottles of mouthwash
What the hell did I think I was preparing for? Some kind of super cleansed and fragrant Armageddon??!
That's not even starting to count the skincare, makeup, perfume....

Help me!!!!

Experiment627 · 24/03/2021 16:24

@StewardsEnquiry you are very welcome!!!
Could you maybe sell the unopened things on ebay/FB?

OP posts:
StewardsEnquiry · 24/03/2021 16:53

Thank you! Well I don't need to sell it, it isn't doing any harm. It's not taking over the house or anything. And we will use it. I suppose I have a year or so of basic toiletries without buying a single item more.

I just need to be disciplined about shopping the stash for moisturiser and things. And I'll get satisfaction from logging the empties!

Experiment627 · 24/03/2021 17:01

Sounds like a plan @StewardsEnquiry!

OP posts:
SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 24/03/2021 20:53

@StewardsEnquiry I too have these tendencies but I have managed to massively reduce my stock. I did it because it occurred to me one day - if the house was on fire, insurance would cover the cost of the house, but I could never quantify the ££££ that would be lost in bottles of stuff.

I know it’s an odd thing to think about but it was a light bulb moment for me.

BookShark · 25/03/2021 10:05

A few empties to report on.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Night Cream (full size) - love this and have already repurchased. Not too heavy and absorbs well.

Origins Eye Cream (sample) - meh. Nothing wrong with it, but wouldn't repurchase - I've tried nicer ones.

Caviar CC Cream Leave- In Conditioner (sample) - felt a bit heavy. I like a leave-in as I'm too lazy to wash my hair twice, but this wasn't quite for me.

Aromatherapy Associates Rose Body Cream (sample) - you have to like the rose scent, and I'm not sure I did. Plus it didn't sink in brilliantly well.

And I've decided to bin a full-size Johnson's Holiday Skin. It must be years old, and I'm just not going to use it - last time I tried I ended up with funny coloured elbows and brown sheets!

So not terribly successful in the sample front But in momentous news, that means I now have one full size body cream which I'm using, and one sample size for when I eventually go away somewhere. My aim is to achieve the same result in every other category!

ememem84 · 25/03/2021 15:47

Terribly kind colleague brought me some products today. Lip masks. Eye masks. A Charlotte tilbury lipstick and some dry shampoo. She was having a clear out. She’s so generous. But man it’s more for my stash!

Caggie09 · 25/03/2021 17:28

Only a few empties today.

111Skin celestial black diamond eye contour gel sample. I decant these sachets into little pots to get the most of out them. I really liked using this and got a week out of it. Obvs not long enough use to see a difference.

Hourglass extreme lash mascara mini. This dried up really quick! I actually wasnt a big fan of it either.. My lashes just looked clumpy and awful!

NARS Climax mascara mini. Liked this one. The wand is a big one, but still coated each lash without making them look clumpy.

Going to be trying out Drunk Elephant Baby Facial tonight to see what the hypes all about🤞

CherryMargo · 25/03/2021 21:51

Welcome, @FreshFaceTime and @StewardsEnquiry! 🤗

@justilou1 for months I’ve been camping the Space NK website trying to get my hands on the Shu Uemura Ultimate Cleansing Oil. Kat Wilson has been raving about it for years, and I really wanted to try it. So thank you for sharing your experience with it 🙏 I’ve removed this oil from my wish list, and will stick to my current HG – Medik8 Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil.

@Caggie09 thank you for reviewing the Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara 🙏 I've had it on my wish list for a long time. Not anymore!

@ememem84 the description of your day 6 hair cracked me up 😂

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 25/03/2021 22:27

I succumbed. I ordered more ‘stuff’ today.

In no particular order:
Inkey serum (thanks to this thread)
Apha h liquid gold
Laura Mercia stick eye colour
Bare minerals lipstick
Embroylisse moisturizer (a regular buy)
Dior mascara (it is not possible to have too many mascaras)

Experiment627 · 26/03/2021 06:25

Great progress @BookShark!!!

What a lovely colleague! Don't think about your stash - just think about all the new stuff you can try!!!

@Caggie09 how was the Drunk Elephant facial?

@SlatternIsMyMiddleName which Inkey List serum did you get?

OP posts:
Ponks · 26/03/2021 07:46

Finished Medik8 Crystal Retinal 10. Really like this, lovely formula and no irritation. Now have the Medik8 retinoate intense serum to use (another lovely formulation) then will have to decide whether to stick with Medik8 or go on to tretinoin with Skin &Me, People on the Skin &Me/ Dermatica thread are reporting great results, so definitely something to think about.

Ponks · 26/03/2021 07:47

Oops posted too soon , also meant to say thanks to @Experiment627 for recommending Cerave hand cream, been using it for a week now and does seem to be having an impact on my dry hands and cuticles.

Experiment627 · 26/03/2021 07:50

Yay! You are welcome @Ponks! Someone on my YT channel recommended the Cerave foot cream - but use as a hand cream! That will be my next try once my stash is depleted

OP posts:
justilou1 · 26/03/2021 09:55

@CherryMargo the Shu Uemura cleansing oil never, ever goes on sale here. Mad! Given that it’s mostly mineral oil, the price is insane! Have ordered more Muji for DDs.
