Ahhh... I’ve had the This Works. Didn’t work for me. Nor the little rollerball thingy. Smelt lovely though.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/04/2021 13:10

Finished an M&S Lily of the Valley ( actually a handwash but I used it in the shower ) now moved onto one of the huge M&S Fragrence Society shower gels ( Lime grapefruit Mandarin) Not nearly as scented as Molton Brown but good for daily use .

Finished the last dose of M&S Face Footner (Radiance Peel) , on dry skin and just keep massaging till it all peels off . Very nice .

Fispi · 04/04/2021 15:14

Lime, grapefruit and mandarin sounds like bliss!

Empties: Origins Drink Up Intense mask, love this. I've had it before and would buy again but not right now when I'm minimising everything.

Sample size Fresh black tea kombucha essence. Felt cooling but not sure if it did anything and I certainly wouldn't buy a full size for the price if is. Smelt nice though.

Escentual has a third off all french pharmacy through April. The temptation is strong!

Nothing works to help me sleep. I just like to lie awake in a fragrant bed!

This week’s empties.

Chantecaille Jasmine face mask. This was quite disappointing, definitely not worth the RP.

Costa Brazil body cream was from the N-a-P advent. It has a slightly odd scent (sort of herbal) but it’s a fabulously moisturising cream which absorbs really well. Pity it is far too expensive to repurchase.

Bum Bum cream was a small sample, remembered again how much I like it. I do have a full size still in my stash Smile

Baume 27 was one of the F&M calendar moisturisers. Probably my least favourite of the ones used so far.

BDK Gris Charnel sample was lovely, really enjoy this scent.

Bottle of Trussardi Delicate Rose EDP gone. It was.... nice. Didn’t adore it. Was a bit generic, light floral. A bit sweet for me. I did use it up just to get rid of it, not because I loved it.

VanGoghsDog · 05/04/2021 18:00

Here you go, my week's empties, used a few samples up and a couple things that were nearly empty got finished.

SuperDrug glittery bath foam (the kids one...) used up. I am now in a glittery bath. It’s quite nice. Smells like bubblegum.

ememem84 · 06/04/2021 08:30

Max factor primer finally done. I’ve been working on this for a while! So pleased it’s gone. The bottle was a bit clunky.

StewardsEnquiry · 06/04/2021 09:55

I have some empties. An original source shower gel that was already half empty, found in the back of a cupboard. I think I took it on holiday 2 years ago Confused

Neutrogena hydro boost whipped body balm. I quite like this, I buy it from time to time.

Olbas oil bottle, I always have a bottle of this on the go, I like to smell it as I go to sleep. I think I find it comforting.

Sample size of Adex gel which is an eczema moisturizer. I think the pharmacist gave it away as a freebie. It was nice, non scented, slippy.

StewardsEnquiry · 06/04/2021 09:56

I'm working on some teeny perfume samples and an eye cream next. I never use eye cream so I'm putting it on my neck instead.

StewardsEnquiry · 06/04/2021 10:00

Just checking how much blusher I have.... I have years left, don't I? Shock

@Babysharkdoodoodood I did not realise that cleanser had been discontinued - I really liked it when I tried it.

@justilou1 I have the Curel one - and it is fine unless I have eye make-up on - then I have to follow-up with micellar water

I’m using the body cocoon stuff at present from this works. Love it. Not sure if it helps me sleep though....but my skin feels nice.
Experiment627 · 06/04/2021 11:29

@StewardsEnquiry um.... yes... decades worth!!!

Why do the MN notification emails suddenly stop? One of life's mysteries.....

Anyhoo - to report:

 • byTerry brightening cc serum in 4. Sunny Flash: not sure where I got this but it is a sample size. It is way too dark for me - I am in oompa loompa state as we speak... I tried to tone done with some day cream but no. Not really sure I like how it sits on the skin either. So although this is not done with - I am chucking.
 • Fenjal shower cream: I got this cos of that Retro beauty thread... absolutely do not like the smell - cannot bear to use up so will donate

@Babysharkdoodoodood - do you follow up with a second cleanse with foaming cleanser? I find it gets rid of everything!

Caggie09 · 06/04/2021 17:36

Only two empties today. Seems like you have lots at once, then tumble weed for a while. Got two nights away next week, so can crack out the sachets and get rid🥳

KokoStar Tulip mask. Was okay. Was due to expire used up one morning. Didnt notice much.

Soap and Glory Flake away scrub. One of my HG scrubs. Love the scent and it descales me nicely. Will RP when im out of scrubs. Moving onto REN Rose Otto Scrub, smells good enough to eat!

ememem84 · 06/04/2021 18:34

L’occitane immortale divine creme done. Sample/gwp nice and soothing but did not like the smell. A bit herby.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 06/04/2021 19:21
@Babysharkdoodoodood - do you follow up with a second cleanse with foaming cleanser? I find it gets rid of everything!
I use simple eye make up remover, then the clarins and then toner. Followed by niacinamide, serum, essence and night cream. Bit of a faff but my skins quite good for an old bird.

If I'm not wearing make up then I just use Korres yoghurt foaming cleanser.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 06/04/2021 20:44

I’m impressed at the amount of empties. Since I joined this thread it has motivated me to up my beauty game and actually use the stuff I have, but I still rarely have empties.

clary · 06/04/2021 20:51

Today's empty - Tan Luxe Super Glow hyaluronic self -tan serum, tiny bottle but still took ages to finish, was in LF Advent - just used it on my face to try to get a sunny glow, but not impressed, no tanning effect whatsoever.

Moving on to the next AHA/serum in my stash - I love this!

Justilou1 · 06/04/2021 21:04

@Babysharkdoodoodood I think the reason you don’t love it is because it’s not a cleanser in itself, it just breaks down the makeup, sunscreen & sebum. You need the gentle foaming cleanser step to wash it away before toning or it will leave a greasy film. (Again, a bit of a faff, but worth it!)

CherryMargo · 06/04/2021 22:00

My March empties were:

 1. fresh Rose Face Mask (15 ml; GWP) – I didn’t like the scent, and my skin felt dehydrated afterwards.

 2. Emma Hardie Purifying Detox Clay Mask (15 ml; GWP) – amazing stuff! It calms down angry spots and combats redness instantly and over time. I only wish it didn’t have so many synthetic fragrance ingredients! I have only one clay mask left in my stash, and if it doesn’t impress me much, I’ll purchase the full-size of this product.

 3. ELEMIS Papaya Enzyme Peel (15 ml; GWP) – it was really nice but I’d like to try other chemical exfoliants before I decide whether I want to re-purchase this product.

 4. Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Exfoliating Moisturiser (15 ml; GWP) – it tingled and made my skin red on application, balled up 40 minutes later (no other product was applied on top of it), and smelled like milk whey 🤢 It also didn’t really fit into my night-time skincare routine, as I prefer to have my exfoliants and moisturisers as separate products. I highly doubt that it’s worth the full price of £79 – £82.

 5. & 6) Miller Harris Citron Citron moisturising cream (10 ml; a gift from a friend) x 2 – too heavily perfumed to apply on my face, and not nourishing enough for my hands, so it took me nine years 🤢 to finally bring myself to use these two small tubes up.

The total number of products left: 61 foil sachets, 53 deluxe samples and 234 full-size products.

Ponks · 06/04/2021 22:45

@StewardsEnquiry blushes take so long to use up, you're good for years there!
@ememem84 a glittery sweet smelling bubble bath sounds just my sort of thing, I'll have to have a look at Superdrug.
@CherryMargo you must hold the record stash here!

No empties today, thought my foundation was finished but once I cut the tube open I see I've got at least a week's worth in there and probably more.

AprilLady · 07/04/2021 10:43

@ememem84, co-incidentally I am also currently using a sample size of the L’Occitane cream. I really rate it (and rather like the smell)

It’s fascinating how divergent views on scent are. I really, really dislike the This Works Pillow sprays, for example, but I give all the ones I get to DD who loves them.

I definitely have more deluxe samples in my stash than @CherryMargo (I suspect 200+ across all categories!) Blush.
