I bought my usual Astral cream today which I've used for 25 years.. Just dawned on me if anyone else uses retro beauty products still 😊

Sorry, YSL Paris

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 20/02/2021 21:51

@ZednotZee Poison was the perfume of choice for sophisticated teenagers during my schooldays (late 80s) - the rest of us wore Exclamation Grin

Another one in mourning for Cornsilk here @Deux! I keep meaning to try the Boots No7 one when I next get a voucher, but of course I hardly ever go into a Boots store these days...

I still use Dove soap - not massively retro but I haven't found any soap that I like more! Has to be the original one though, not the hypoallergenic or any others, I can't stand the smell of those.

If the Body Shop ever bring back Dewberry perfume I'll be there like a shot Sad

Imperi leather soap. Recently rediscovered soap instead on shower gel. Feel cleaner and my sensitive skin is less dry. We have all been conned for years into thinking shower gel is better for us. Love the smell of imperial leather.

AnExcellentWalker · 20/02/2021 22:01

I use a flannel for my face. Exactly the right amount of exfoliation, better for the environment, cheaper than buying exfoliation products which may possibly irritate my skin when/if they're reformulated or if I have to find a new product.

I am also a soap user in the shower. My skin is much better since I switched.

BooUrns · 20/02/2021 22:02

CK One! Is that retro? I just love it.

I also love Rimmel Black Cherry nail polish and I do still carry a can of Impulse in my bag - loved 02 and the Spice Girls version back in the 90s!

plinkplinkfizzer · 20/02/2021 22:08

@ZednotZee

Frizz ease. Fuck you curly girl method Grin
I 'm not sure that is retro .
jay55 · 20/02/2021 23:14

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream on my dry elbows and lips.
Cocoa butter.

GinIsNotOriginal · 20/02/2021 23:57

I use Elnett hairspray which I consider quite vintage! Reminds me of my granny lavishly spritzing it all over her rollered bouffant updo (think Joan Collins with some hair grips and combs) when I was a child in the late 90s.

Orpheline · 21/02/2021 00:07

I don't use them, but I still have Biba foundation and lip-gloss in the lovely black glass pots.

sugarlost · 21/02/2021 07:15

I loved Exclamation! And So....? perfume. Those two used to come in a little set of 5 at Christmas from Boots along with one called Addiction (I think) and two others I can’t remember now (about 1997/8)
bimbimbap · 21/02/2021 10:31

lipcote, body shop white musk and maybelline great lash for me!

sugarlost · 21/02/2021 19:06

@ItsTheDramaMickILoveIt was the other two perfumes Charlie red and Panache?

I also remember body shop perfume oils and white musk as mentioned previously...

DarlingCoffee · 21/02/2021 19:50

Olay and Pears soap.

DidgeDoolittle · 21/02/2021 20:10

@FairNotFair

4711 eau de cologne, every summer, all summer long Smile
I love this. A few years ago my DH and I spent 6 weeks travelling round the Far East. It was ,obviously, very hot and very humid. I took a big bottle of 4711, 2 face cloths and 2 zip lock bags. Every morning I put the flannels in a bowl of water with some 4711. Put them in the bags and took them out with us. They were so heavenly when we were hot, tired and sweaty.
LionLily · 21/02/2021 20:17

I've just finished a bottle of Rive Gauche, which I enjoyed wearing. I especially loved it when other women my age sniffed around me and exclaimed 'Rive Gauche! I loved that!'
I use good old fashioned setting lotion if I want waves or curls in my hair. Put the rollers in, slather on the setting lotion, blow dry. Them curls ain't going nowhere.

I loved my Fromboise juicy tube! Spent the whole time in sticking my hair from my lips though.

I’ve been using sudacrem on my face at night for the last month and I love it so will carry on.

Yes! It was! Panache and Charlie Red made up the set. I spent many a happy hour unscrewing those tiny lids and sniffing the perfume within.

My mum is still a devotee of Pears soap, strictly the original orangey coloured one. She was telling me the other day of when there used to be a little girl on the box, ‘Miss Pears’, and they picked a new girl every year as a competition winner

StepOutOfLine · 21/02/2021 20:53

My granny entered me in Miss Pears. I didn't win but I was Little Miss Pontins one year Grin

bananamonkey · 21/02/2021 20:58

*unsticking my hair

Livpool · 21/02/2021 21:13

Nivea Creme for when my face is extra dry
Elnett
Vaseline for dry elbows and knees
Sudocream - for everything

Livpool · 21/02/2021 21:18

Ooh Boujours blusher. The lid has broken on my last one and I want to cry

Puffalicious · 21/02/2021 22:05

Ah, of course, Pears soap- i love it, it reminds me of my mam's bathroom. I use bar soap again rather than liquid hand soap- much prefer it.

Didn't realise Mitcham was retro- only discovered it about 15 years ago- it's awesome, best on the market.

BarbaraofKent · 21/02/2021 22:12

Aw, Framboise Juicy Tube, absolutely loved mine!

I have an ancient Ruby and Millie green eyeshadow that is all broken but I have kept because I have never been able to find a shade quite as nice.

I am also tempted to buy another bottle of Benefit High Beam if they still sell it?
