I bought my usual Astral cream today which I've used for 25 years.. Just dawned on me if anyone else uses retro beauty products still 😊

OP posts:

Those of you who still use Bourjois blusher - does it still have the same lovely smell as it used to have in the 80s?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/02/2021 00:48

Ruby & Millie, I still use that as my main blusher brush. Their brushes were fab!

Bluesheep8 · 22/02/2021 07:19

Panache perfume.

BusterGonad · 22/02/2021 07:32

I've been using Nivea Creme for the last few weeks, twice a day. My skin looks amazing and is very soft and supple.
Baby lotion as a cream cleanser (face).
JPG classique perfume.
I'd love some juicy tubes!

Sparrowfeeder · 22/02/2021 07:42

Nothing as I only use vegan and cruelty free products.
I am also ttc so avoiding all parabens and phlates etc (i.e. anything with ‘fragrance’ or ‘parfum’ as an ingredient) for the sake of egg quality.
If I had a choice, and wasn’t ttc, I would love to use some old body shop white musk perfume, starflower or dewberry (90s throwback).

MagicSummer · 22/02/2021 08:30

Inspired by this thread, I have just ordered a Juicy Tube!

I still use:-
Nivea Creme in the blue tin as a lip balm every night
Nivea Body Lotion
Nivea Soap
I used to love their shampoo and conditioner which you used to be able to buy in Spain, but no longer!

Rimmel Hide the Blemish

Does anyone remember the Helancyl (not Elancyl) anti-cellulite massager with green soap? I spent hours scrubbing my (then) cellulite-free body with it - not sure it did any good - but it had a lovely smell!

MagicSummer · 22/02/2021 08:30

Should be 'now Elancyl', not 'not'!

frugalkitty · 22/02/2021 09:39

Yes they do! I stocked up when I heard about them being discontinued here, and they last so long that it should be years and years before I'm out. My mum let me choose some make up for my 17th birthday and Bourjois is what I chose, I've stuck with their blushers ever since.
AColdDuncanGoodhew · 22/02/2021 10:00

Nivea soft
Vaseline in a tin

lockdownalli · 22/02/2021 10:13

If the Body Shop ever bring back Dewberry perfume I'll be there like a shot

Me too! I only realised by reading this thread how retro I am. I use:

Rosewater and glycerine
Nivea Blue
Maybelline Great Lash
Vaseline

I appear to be the only sad loser one so far who still uses Max Factor Pan Stick which is The Best Thing Ever for covering blemishes.

If I could buy Vidal Sassoon Almond and Cherry shampoo my life would be complete.

DinosaurDiana · 22/02/2021 10:14

I’ve been using Liz Earle for 23 years.

DinosaurDiana · 22/02/2021 10:16

And Fenjal shower creme.

HerbsnSpices · 22/02/2021 10:45

I've tried every concealer under the sun and the one I keep coming back to is Boots No. 7 concealer. It's in a lipstick-type case and I use a small flat brush to paint over any spots and it stays on all day. Easy to blend too as I rarely use foundation.

HerbsnSpices · 22/02/2021 10:53

I've never bought Fenjal.
I've always thought it was for cleaning your fanjo Blush

DinosaurDiana · 22/02/2021 11:38

Well it’s not.

Max Factor Creme Puff

sugarlost · 22/02/2021 19:47

Does anyone remember the pots of perfume scented cream by Avon. I remember my mum having them..wish you could still purchase them. One pot was pale pink and the other a pale orange colour.

FreshFaceTime · 22/02/2021 20:07

Ooooh I didn't realise Max Factor Creme Puff was retro - assumed I was the only one who used it! Anyone else fuming they've removed the puff? Or is that just me?

Love nivea in the white pot but might give the blue one a bash now too.

Also love reliable old skool lip balms and always have a chapstick, blisteeze/blistex, carmex, etc on the go in various pockets, bags, car, etc...

Going back to some of my old favourites after reading this thread. Have already added hide the blemish to my online shop.

Yes! I have a stash of vintage Avon soaps, talcs, perfumes and cream perfumes. I got a job lot from eBay.
Melange99 · 22/02/2021 22:48

Because of another thread I have bought Fidji perfume. I used to use it years ago. Received it today, Blimey, it has taken me right back. I love it.

Kwackerly · 22/02/2021 23:17

Hide the blemish and corn silk. Still have some corn silk, just looked at eBay and it's £££ now Shock - just bought some badedas and added some 4711 cologne to my Amazon basket, thanks for that reminder!

Me too. Grin But then i used to post as VintagePerfumista on the perfume thread.
StormOfSekhmet · 23/02/2021 06:35

Erno Laszlo - active phelityl cream.

Veterinari · 23/02/2021 07:11

@Grimble69

I was thinking of buying Sebamed cleansing bar for my face. It's not packaged in plastic (might have a plastic inner these days I suppose) and it's pH balanced, 5.5. I'm pretty sure I used one bar as a teenager. Does anyone use it and like it?
Yep.

It's my standard face washing soap - only thing that doesn't dry my skin out or leave me oily

goingtotown · 23/02/2021 08:02

Max Factor Pan Stick
