I bought my usual Astral cream today which I've used for 25 years.. Just dawned on me if anyone else uses retro beauty products still 😊

OP posts:
BeaLola · 19/02/2021 10:29

Elnett hairspray

Yardleys April Violets soap

Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers body lotion - nothing else from range just the lotion

applesandpears33 · 19/02/2021 11:58

Nivea in the blue pot - fantastic. Also Boots glycerine and rose as toner, although I've been buying the Aldi rose toner recently

KirstenBlest · 19/02/2021 12:13

I remember the Bourjois rouge in the cardboard box. I seem to recall tha my local Woolworths stocked it.

Pinkfreesias · 19/02/2021 12:52

I used to use Aapri facial scrub and thought it had been discontinued, but I recently found it in Savers or Poundland. I'm so chuffed!

ILookAtTheFloor · 19/02/2021 13:23

Badedas! I love it. I didn't realise it was retro. I'm obsessed with it.

JaneJeffer · 19/02/2021 13:24

Rimmel Hide The Blemish concealer
Me too

TeaAddict235 · 19/02/2021 13:24

Mum deodorant. Legendary stuff still, if you find it, stock up!

Another Pantene lover here. It rescues my hair. Every. Single. Time. I. Go. Astray

Vaseline for lips, hands and cheeks

@Diamondella

Not retro but I’ve gone back to using Clinique 3 step, it went out of fashion for a long time, people used to say the clarifying lotion was like nail varnish remover etc, anyway I hadn’t used it since a teenager last time was 1998 my sisters wedding , but randomly bought some and my skin had been really nice since, the clarifying lotion is nowhere near as strong as it used to be and the dramatically different moisturizer is really nice for dry skin, don’t used the soap bar yet as I’m still using Elemis gentle foaming cleanser which I love. Also love nivea soft .
The funny thing about Clinique 3 step, in particular the toner, is that it contains exactly the same ingredients (ie salicylic acid) that have become the new buzzwords! Ditto retinol. Clinique had a retinol cream about 20 years ago. I got some DD lotion as a sample at Christmas and agree, it was a lovely hydrating cream.

I have it on subscription from Amazon. Fills the entire house with that wonderful smell.

Astral user here

rawalpindithelabrador · 19/02/2021 13:49

I love Dramatically Different Moisturising lotion! It's fab for my menopausal skin.

Funny you should say this, but DS9 has developed a little bit of body odour overnight (my other 2 DS never did until well into teen hood) and I was flummoxed what to buy for such young skin. Didn't want that boy, sporty perfumed smell my other 2 use. I spied some MUM unperfumed in the original glass bottle and it's been fab. It's still 3/4s full and I've been using it nightly for months! O seem to remember my pink one was in my school bag in secondary for years!
BigWindow · 19/02/2021 13:56

St Ives apricot face scrub. I use it about once a month and nothing else makes my skin feel so clean and new.

Ultraglow bronzer. Used to buy it in Boots, but it’s now only available online. It lasts an age and is the only bronzer I’ve ever really loved.

Vosene shampoo. Great as a clarifying shampoo once a month or so.

Blue Nivea and Vaseline intensive care lotion. My favourite body creams, always come back to them.

lavenderlou · 19/02/2021 13:57

@AprilThe8th

Max factor creme puff pressed powder
Me too! My Grandma used it. I know the powdered look is out but I still use a bit and have never found another powder that matches it.
BigWindow · 19/02/2021 13:57

And Yes to Elnett hairspray. The best.

TroyTown · 19/02/2021 17:22

Still use the Clinique face powder you put on with a brush.
Maybelline Great Lash.
Vaseline for eyelashes every night ( if it was good enough for Brooke Shields...)
Original Opium EDP
Elnett hairspray
I’m over 50, can you tell?

Anjelika · 19/02/2021 20:54

Do you Juicy Tube fans know that they are back?? You can only get them on the Lancôme website though. Think they are mainly new shades but I've bought 3 so far and love them all.

waltzingparrot · 19/02/2021 21:07

Vitapointe and Fenjal.

I sound like my mum!

FairNotFair · 19/02/2021 21:10

4711 eau de cologne, every summer, all summer long Smile

rc22 · 19/02/2021 21:30

Blue nivea and nivea soft. Love them both!

SpeckledyHen · 19/02/2021 21:35

Rimmel Hide The Blemish , formerly know as Hide and Heal .
Lipcote
Nivea Blue Tin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 19/02/2021 21:40

Is Maybelline Great Lash 'retro'?

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 19/02/2021 22:06

@Onwednesdayswewearblack

Blue nivea, also love ponds cold cream for cleansing, buts it's got quite expensive since Kylie jumped on the bandwagon.
Oh, so it's her fault?

I had wondered why it had gone up by nearly a tenner from my usual supplier.

SwedishEdith · 19/02/2021 22:22

Bought Nivea in the big blue tin today because of this thread. The smell! Love it.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 19/02/2021 22:29

I bought a tub of astral the other day. I love the scent, reminds me of my granny. She was the best 🥰
